Episodes

  • Solid Cat: 76 - Fo Shizzle

    16/02/2014 Duration: 01h14min

This week's Solid Cat Podcast is shooting wildly in all directions. Smug L.A. D-mo brags about the weather, while Val has poor aim. Margarita bars make kiddie birthday parties soooo much better. D-mo unloads on ghetto-talk, while Val is the glue that keeps this show together (which is ironic in its own way). Random tangents rule on this week's Slumber Party of Podcasts. D-mo is cussing a lot today, Siri's Poetry Slam returns, and what is Shia LeBeouf doing? Should dolphins get "human rights?" #dolphinapocalypse We blame Malcolm McDowell for "totes magoats." There are crocodiles in trees... seriously. We have listener questions, and the Space Cowboy Kitchen is inspired by the Silk Road. What Avenger are we? Sexytime with D-mo, Val, & Siri strikes again. Is there a Gay Constitution? And then we stumble to the finish. Why not? Fo shizzle, fo shizzle!

  • Solid Cat: 75 - International Incident

    09/02/2014 Duration: 01h10min

This week, Solid Cat, the Slumber Party of Podcasts, is also the International Podcast of Mystery. We highlight the use and irony of t.A.T.u.'s music for the Russians during the Sochi Olympics. We have a non-English speaker from Greece, with no concept of American Football, adeptly call out that the Broncos blew, and we learn why D-mo rooted for the Seahawks. We toss a #historyjoke. Saucy Siri returns to the show and we wonder if she's American or Chinese, her unedited answer will surprise you. The CW is full of pretty people. In Celebrity Death Corner, we learn the method actors are hardcore... dangerously so. Our mottos: "Adventure awaits," and "There's no such thing as 'pot-committed.'" We drop some sound Vegas gambling advice. We learn real names of real people. We tell you how we got our new phones for free. And now, Solid Cat is on Pinterest... and whatever that entails. Oh, and did we mention Solid Cat's Senior Entertainment Correspondent, Matrice, is back on the show? Well, she is.

  • Solid Cat: 74 - Moose Knuckle

    26/01/2014 Duration: 01h33min

On this week's Solid Cat, we welcome a saucy Siri as a regular part of the show. We may do a spin-off called Saucy Cat. IS THE POPE A VAMPIRE?!?! #hotpope Marlee Matlin will not be Peter Pan. What does "Solid Cat" mean? "I'm pretty sure I'm allergic to lions, too." The NHL Stadium Series at Dodger Stadium was a hit. We talk Celtic Complexion, the band Keane, and skinny jeans on men. It's a moose knuckle, and not a gorilla nose. Blowdart attacks, and sociopathic media. We are now on RadioFubar. Val chews ice on air. We have the return of Sexytime, and get serious about acquaintance rape. There is a Phil Donahue reference, and favorite pick-up lines. Lastly we debate if childbirth really is the worst pain. We're all over the map and it's awesome.

  • Solid Cat: 73 - No Pants Are The Best Pants

    19/01/2014 Duration: 01h21min

Big Daddy Dave returns to this week's Solid Cat. We discover which one of our Guests have slept in the studio, and remind everyone it's important to have multi-cultural friends. Weather in California is awesome. D-mo was on another podcast, and this segued into a trip to the Dave Foley sitcom NewsRadio. We have more Top Round love. It's Cable Industry Talk with D-mo, Val, & Dave as we talk network apps and HBO GO password sharing. There is a "slightly haunted" house for sale. Ten biblical misconceptions. Dave brings goodies to the Space Cowboy Kitchen. D-mo isn't sure if he wants to deal with the Chinese government. Val brings Del Taco to Buffalo, and we finish off talking about airport food. Remember, no pants are, indeed, the best pants.

  • Solid Cat: 72 - The Chivas Diatribe

    12/01/2014 Duration: 01h17min

It's a fresh new take on Solid Cat, as we roll out new music across the podcast. And though, that may be the highlight, there is a full show waiting for you inside. Robot voices makes us seem less pompous. Val's the president of the Screen OVERactors Guild. We're teaching the daughter to dunk. We spotlight D-mo's "Arsenal of Freedom." Bizarre, random Simpsons reference. D-mo sings through awkward pauses to fill dead air. Val sometimes forgets she does a podcast. Naked foosball is dangerous. "Chiquita" might be the new slang for cocaine. Is there a Velveeta shortage? "The Purge" is real in Peru. "You got Knuckles McGee over here..." D-mo gets on his soapbox and unloads his Chivas USA diatribe. Val goes to an "Outlander" panel. #PocketJamie. And then, D-mo & Val have a heated discussion about this week's Paws Up! recipient. But we end with steel drums, and who doesn't love steel drums.

  • Solid Cat: 71 - with Special Guest, Big Daddy Dave

    05/01/2014 Duration: 01h29min

It's the first Solid Cat of 2014, and today, Big Daddy Dave joins us in studio for a rowdy episode of the Slumber Party of Podcasts. We talk first world problems, and winter in Los Angeles. We take a tour of the Southwest, talking about Phoenix heat and being stranded in Utah. Watch out for fake donkey-meat snacks. We enjoy an impromptu MySpace retrospective. "Us eating on air doesn't make for good radio, but we're doing it anyway." And then we enjoy some Yelp reviews for a strip club. Trust us, this is one of our better shows.

  • Solid Cat: 70 - Big Lists

    29/12/2013 Duration: 01h30min

We kick out 2013 in style with a bunch of Big Lists on this week's Solid Cat. On this week's show: the odd week between Christmas and New Year's; D-mo doesn't like candy canes, but Val likes hers chewy; there is a lot of lamenting going on; why didn't D-mo get Assassin's Creed IV for Christmas?; Hugh Downs in still alive; a new special guest joins us in studio, and you'll be surprised and what she calls D-mo; what would have been a debate on Christmas Eve vs. Christmas morning turns into a rant by Val on how Christmas is exhausting and not like when she was a kid; virgin births; Icelandic elves; 100 Things We Learned in 2013; Top 10 Most Popular New Year's Resolutions; hobo bags; and we finish with an overindulgence in the Space Cowboy Kitchen. Warning: we're verbose.

  • Solid Cat: 69 - Christmas Music Spectacular

    15/12/2013 Duration: 01h29min

It's the Solid Cat Christmas Music Spectacular as Demosthenes and Valerie the Space Cowboy count down their favorite Christmas songs of all time. But we would just have that alone in the podcast; oh no. The stockings are stuffed with: cheap DVD's, El Assholo, Dole Pineapple Whip, Dildo Grabbins, Chambord-spiked smoothies, Leonard Nimoy, a raccoon with a vendetta, "You can't kill CRAZY," Top 10 most dangerous Xmas toys including actual uranium, Dominic the Donkey, Val's hatred for both Josh Grobin and "TSO," Avenger vibrators, the King of Versailles, and a Benise Bonus! Phew. And the credits go askew in a hurry. Man, we're better than any of those Hallmark Hall of Fame Christmas movies. FACT!

  • Solid Cat: 68 - Doctor Who 50th Anniversary

    24/11/2013 Duration: 01h31min

It's Whosgiving here at Solid Cat as we nerdgasm about Doctor Who's 50th Anniversary and stuff our faces full of Thanksgiving. "My stomach is the TARDIS of organs!" But wait... there's more! Inka Kola is pretty damn epic. We revisit Val's hatred of Hall & Oates. "You're just a bucket of piss and vinegar tonight." D-mo posits that the uptick in Doctor Who fandom is just Harry Potter nerds in withdrawal. We have more Wizard Talk with D-mo & Val, as we just can't get off the topic of Harry Potter. We have ugly sweater-inspired hockey jerseys, and a mushroom drop. There is a door knob ban in Vancouver (because they've solved all their other problems). We EXPOSE witches on broomsticks; the truth will blow your mind! If you want a gay potato, get a Yukon Gold, but try to avoid green-tinted russets; they're the Vulcans of the potato world (those words were actually said aloud on air). We have things you didn't know about Thanksgiving, weird Dickens' quotes, and we've come up with the proper way for children

  • Solid Cat: 67 - Cinema Time

    17/11/2013 Duration: 01h23min

Solid Cat is all over the place this week. But again, it is the Slumber Party of Podcasts, so expect the unexpected. On this episode, we photobomb, and lament PhotoShop's new payment model. We expand on that in Design Corner with D-mo & Val. We have more Harry Potter goodness, and review alleged sexual preferences of Hufflepuffs. "Some people drink and do drugs, we play with LEGOs." Cinema Time with D-mo & Val. "Speaking of leopards..." Thanksgivakkah. Multiple Things with D-mo. Honest Taglines. Frito Pie! Bakersfield Condors. Why is Val a Coyotes fan, on Hockey Talk with D-mo & Val. "I get a lot to eat at home." "He's awfully chubby for someone who smokes crack." And we finish with some Shadows and Light from Wilson Phillips. Solid Cat: scatterbombing comedy at its best

  • Solid Cat: 66 - Candy Cannon

    03/11/2013 Duration: 01h29min

Get your kicks on Episode 66 of Solid Cat. On this week's Slumber Party of Podcasts, we've started introducing the Danger Diva to Harry Potter, and though she's only 5, she'll be probably be sorted into Slytherin. We wonder why everyone disses Hufflepuffs. Val thinks her Petronas would be a dog, but would like it to be a manatee. "Expecto Petronum... it's a sea cow!" D-mo thinks his Petronas would be a bear, but Val thinks his is more "thunderbirdy." Solid Cat All-Star, Eleni, checks in from London with a review of the Shunga art exhibit we talked about on last week's show. We have a surprisingly large amount of baseball news. We talk about the most awkward moments with our parents, and as parents. I.M. Ripe is great for fruit, but not for man. We start The Beginners Guide of the Space Cowboy Kitchen where we teach people how to boil water... seriously. Old ladies love to run their fingers through D-mo's hair. Trick-or-treating for soup. And this episode reaches its climax with the Halloween Candy Cannon. It'

  • Solid Cat: 65 - Muffnuts

    27/10/2013 Duration: 01h13min

It's a quiet week at Solid Cat... AS IF! It's random chaos as always on the Slumber Party of Podcasts. What's on tap this week? Muffnuts? Nutmuffs? Fauxnuts? Blownuts? Whatever you call them, they're delicious. Don't be too smart in your books, they won't sell. Hoisting pitards. NERD ALERT! Ridiculous Photogenic Notre Dame guy. We found the guy responsible for Batman's voice. The Japanese definitely are outside the bento box. We visit the world's first halal sex shop. #creepypervsongs "I don't that Neil Diamond has sex." Let's play the Feud! Wizard talk. And D-mo determines that Dijon is the Buffalo, NY, of France.

  • Solid Cat: 64 - Space Cowboy's Birthday

    20/10/2013 Duration: 01h35min

It was the Space Cowboy's Birthday weekend, and man, did we party like a couple of college kids and sort of review it on this week's episode of Solid Cat. In no particular order: Lesbian wedding. We lost a day. Yeti Fancy Magazine. Val's a "Hellcat." Harry Potter and cookies. "My restaurant will be called 'MSG Added.'" We have some Oktoberfest fun. The Burger Dance... Into the Night. "Man can't live on ruffled potato chip and onion dip alone... but I'm willing to try." Assassin's Creed cats. Pink Lamborghinis. But honestly, the best part was Top Round Roast Beef. Seriously, check out our review on the Space Cowboy Kitchen.

  • Solid Cat: 63 - Fashion Week

    06/10/2013 Duration: 01h24min

It's Solid Cat Time! This week's Slumber Party of Podcasts is totally unplanned; seriously, D-mo and Val did zero planning for this show, and we can't really tell. To start, Val pulls "a Shasta." We question the legitimacy of Urban Tarzan, as a chimp is hopped up on scissor. We look older than our age. It's Fashion Week, with all that that entails. We spitz on some Eau de Toast, 'cause hey, bread is beautiful. D-mo smells like rye bread. We spend too much timing linking bread and sex. It's National Taco Day. Driving damages ovaries. We've got broccoli-theme soccer jerseys. Project Runway reviews and picks. There's syrup in Sexytime. If older women on the prowl are "cougars," older Mexican women on the prowl are "jaguars." We despise the fast food upsell. Athens is crowd-sourcing dinner. WickedCon is coming. And yes, we're still drinking your tears. #sadturtle

  • Solid Cat: 62 - Buffy

    29/09/2013 Duration: 01h32min

This was to be the Buffy the Vampire Slayer special of Solid Cat, but in the end, I think we talked more about Christopher Lambert and Highlander. Go fig. However, as always, the Slumber Party of Podcasts is full of random goodies. We highlight our TV viewing, we step on the parents' soapbox, and do a little Bingo and Bondage. Are there aliens in Pittsburgh? There are dead skunks in Buffalo, and it's a twisted tale that features a couple of CSI jokes. In the showcase, the Space Cowboy rambles on about Buffy in a piece just for her, that ends with One Night in Bangkok. We learn which Buffy characters we are. We do the Walk of Shame in Sexytime. We check on Jesus H. Twitter. Buffananza is a gay cowboy porno (it has to be). We're still drinking your tears. "It's that planned out stuff that throws us off." And just in case you're confused after hearing the show, here's the road map for the end of the podcast: pizza - hoedown - jugs - "elder statesman gorilla" - Greystoke: the Legend of Tarzan - Christopher Lamber

  • Solid Cat: 61 - Drink Your Tears

    22/09/2013 Duration: 01h28min

This week's Slumber Party of Podcasts needed a donut run before it started, but Solid Cat covers the spectrum today. We hit up some Gilbert and Sullivan. D-mo illustrates how awesome a guy he is. Val makes weird noises. We highlight random bits o' violence. We're going to drink your tears. She shine the spotlight on rugby ass-play and squirrel tackles. We have fun with Biscuits, Nuts, Flying Squirrels, TinCaps, and Manatees. "I don't have time to smoke a pig." In Sexytime with D-mo & Val, we talk toys. In From the Dojo, we talk diets. It's Goat Week! There is dating for farmers. Mollie B's Polka Party is like Soul Train... for polka. And we waste 90 minutes on The Wizard of Baghdad. Not a euphemism. Oh, and we're going to drink your tears.

  • Solid Cat: 60 - Second XXX Clip Show

    08/09/2013 Duration: 01h24min

It's the big anniversary clip show on Solid Cat, the Slumber Party Podcasts. But before we take that trip down memory lane, we learn the D-mo is a hit with the chicks. We ask what does the fox say? We answer a listener-submitted question on Sexytime with D-mo & Val. We find out where there is the most divorces going down in the world. We laud This is That. Val gets on the soapbox again. And we have a quick Buffy tangent. However, the stars of this episode are the classic clips from shows past. We revisit: Burning Hulk of an Escort; Morgan Freeman; Honey Hole of Hot Feline Action; Mr. Bucket; and Pigeonary. It's a lot of tangents and laughter. And really, that's the pure definition of Solid Cat.

  • Solid Cat: 59 - Titty Poppins

    01/09/2013 Duration: 01h32min

Somebody left the soapbox out, and on a hot day, someone is going to use it. In this week's sassy Solid Cat Podcast... you can't pass up free hot dogs, the Danger Diva wants to punch a fish in the face, and we have Archery Talk with Val (#archerysnob). The world descends into hell when raccoons have opposable thumbs. Why is steampunk popular? We introduce Mary Poppins' much more popular cousin, Titty Poppins. Her companion is Fat Bert, not Gay Bert. "How many puns can we squeeze into this bit?" Tom Hanks in a 'stauche is still Tom Hanks. WickedCon2014. We have some soccer sheep slaughter and giant cabbages! We dissect twerking (we're also educational). Remember, you don't have to be skanky to be sexy; be smart, don't overdo it, sexy is an attitude not an appearance. We judge the Jesus pie. Val & D-mo sing duets of You Light Up My Life and Blinded By The Light. Afternoon Delight could be a tasty sandwich. Muskrat Love? And we explain the trifecta of douchebaggery. So this week's Slumber Party of Podcasts i

  • Solid Cat: 58 - Sexytime

    25/08/2013 Duration: 01h22min

The Slumber Party of Podcasts is back again, and this time, the Slumber Party is both nerdy and sexy. It's a packed show, but does that mean it's a boring show? First up, Solid Cat is now a proud member of the Wicked Radio Network. In a related story, Solid Cat is a member of the Broadcast Basement Fantasy Football League. Lots of podcasting love all around. Back at the show, we order up a plate of Fettucini I-Knew-It-Was-You-'Fredo. We chastise people who don't exercise their fashion responsibility to their friends. We learn that even if you're dead, you might not be. We might get a visit from Child Protective Services. Zoe is not a Latina. Pico Rivera: come for the salsa, stay for the menudo. A single ninja > many ninja. We have Final Friday reference two weeks in a row. To kill crazies, we learn you need to cut off the heart, stake the heart, and burn the body (safety first!). In our new segment, Sexytime with D-mo & Val, we investigate dudoir photography. Jet Noir. Stop duck facing. We learn D-mo's le

  • Solid Cat: 57 - Lionel Ritchie

    18/08/2013 Duration: 01h28min

Good heavens, what a show this week on Solid Cat. This may be our most random yet. We explore or love/hate relationship with the morning. Preschool is like an internship, and kindergarten is like a job. Val suffers from Zoe separation anxiety. We re-visit the Bakersfield Condors incident. Val has a bizarre Lionel Ritchie problem (and it sorta a funny thing). We theorize how reprises became remixes. We follow an uninterrupted train of Lionel Ritchie to Michael Jackson to big cats to Brooke Shields to NeverEnding Story to La Brea Tar Pits to Horror Films. Thanks to Psycho, Val never showered with the curtain closed. We have a ghost cat. Is Val a medium? A bizarre Frosted Flakes reference. It's the Summer of Mediterranea. Chicken & Waffles Potato Chips. "Hey kids, don't do drugs." "Never turn down Morphine in a controlled setting." Yay literacy! Whimsic Alley is awesome (we found Jammie Dodgers). Racquetball Adventures. Pirate Whale! "It's a family show... since when?"
