  • Conversation Street Episode 215

    03/09/2016 Duration: 02h04min

On our latest show, we talk about the episodes of Coronation Street broadcast in the UK between the 29th August and the 2nd September. This week, Jenny's undercover work for Johnny leads to a full on strike from the factory workers after he discovers they've been watching a movie when they should have been working. The tables are turned on Friday, though, when he and Jenny are the ones caught getting up to naughty business! Meanwhile, Liz struggles to come to terms with fake grandma-to-be Gail mooning over Leanne's unborn child - can she keep her mouth shut for Steve's sake? Also this week, Craig gets an unexpected birthday surprise in the form of some revelations about his father. Next up, Michael chats with Corrie fan, artist and local historian Paul Lanagan about his trip to the Corrie set last weekend for the 'I Am Team GB' event. In the Kabin, we discuss how a seemingly offhand remark by Eva made front page news this week - were the complaints about it justified, or was the whole affair just a storm in a

  • Conversation Street Episode 214

    27/08/2016 Duration: 02h30min

On this weekend's podcast, we discuss the episodes of Coronation Street broadcast between the 22nd and the 26th August. So...what about that Sharif, eh? A secret affair behind Yasmeen's back all this time! Believable? Maybe not. The start of an interesting story for the underused Nazirs? Could well be! There were also some great twists in the Leanne story this week too, first when Tracy finds out about her and Nick's visit to the antenatal department at Weatherfield General, and next when the couple decide to announce that Nick's the father - the looks on Steve and Liz's faces were priceless! After Street Talk, we ponder the future of the Platts and the Nazirs in the listener question segment, before discussing ITV's latest tease about the upcoming sixth weekly episode in The Kabin. We round off the show, as always, with some more of your listener feedback, including whether David's criminal record could affect his potential adoption of Max.

  • Conversation Street Episode 213

    20/08/2016 Duration: 02h43min

On the fourth anniversary of Conversation Street, we chat about the episodes of Corrie broadcast in the UK between the 15th and the 19th August. Although there were a few side stories involving the likes of Gemma, Izzy and the Nazirs this week, the main focus was on Leanne's continuing attempts to get through her pregnancy with as few people actually knowing about it as possible, and the aftermath of Aidan and Maria's night of inter-Connor congress. So basically, the lesson we learn this week is that one night stands may seem fun at the time, but they don't half cause a lot of drama afterwards! After Street talk, we do a character profile on Craig Tinker, finding out what he's achieved in his five years on the show and discussing what we'd like to see from him in the future. We then move onto the Kabin, where we talk about Catherine Tydesley's out-of-nowhere single release this week, and finish things off with some listener feedback.

  • Conversation Street Episode 212

    14/08/2016 Duration: 01h54min

This week on the podcast, we take you with us on a short tour of the North - first off, join us as we visit the Blackpool Tower, Tower Ballroom and the Strand Hotel, and relive some of the Corrie scenes that have taken place there over the years. Next, we head over to Manchester, where we do a bit of crazy gate stalking at Media City and have a couple of unexpected encounters with some of the cast! In the second half of the podcast, we chat about the episodes of Corrie broadcast over the week, between the 8th to the 12th August. It's all cops and Roberts on Monday, when Nick reports his rival to the boys in blue for drink driving, and Craig fills out his application to become a special constable. He's not the only one who wants to do his bit to help out the community either, as Gemma signs up for the Weatherfield Good Samaritan scheme and sets her sights on helping out Rita. However, Rita may not be as receptive to Gemma's good deeds as she'd hoped! As it's a bit of a different episode this week, we don't hav

  • Conversation Street Episode 211

    06/08/2016 Duration: 02h59min

This weekend's podcast covers the episodes of Coronation Street broadcast in the UK between the 1st and the 5th August. We do Street Talk a bit differently this week - as much of Monday and Wednesday's episodes of Corrie had such intertwining storylines - mostly centred around Kylie's funeral and Sean's discovery of Todd and Billy's relationship and the resultant fallout - we chat about the scenes pretty much in the order that they happened, rather than dealing with one storyline at a time. Hopefully our discussion doesn't turn out too jumbled, and you enjoy it all the same! After Street Talk we do a feature discussion on memorable pregnancies on Coronation Street. One night stands, affairs, "Who's the Daddy?" stories and - shockingly - some just plain old pregnancies between married couples all get discussed in this segment, as well as how the show has dealt with terminations and miscarriages over the years. There are a few controversial subjects touched upon for sure, so hopefully we don't offend anyone - w

  • Conversation Street Episode 210

    30/07/2016 Duration: 02h17min

Our latest podcast sees us discussing the episodes of Corrie broadcast in the UK between the 25th and 29th July. Jenny's manipulative streak shows itself again this week when  she tries to make Johnny jealous by snogging Singh in front of him. It works, though, and not only are the couple back together by Wednesday, but Jenny's also the new factory spy! Speaking of undercover action, the situation caused by Steve's night between the sheets with Leanne gets even more complicated this week when Michelle decides she wants a baby of her own. So, two little McDonalds born at the same time early next year, then? We'd bet on it! Next up, we do a classic character profile on Liam Connor, before moving into the Kabin to celebrate some baby news for Paula Lane. We finish off the show with some listener emails that cover a range of topics, including Kylie's death, the CBC Corrie schedules during the Olympics and whether someone can have room in their heart for more than one soap!

  • Conversation Street Episode 209

    23/07/2016 Duration: 02h21min

In our latest show, we talk about the episodes of Coronation Street broadcast in the UK between the 18th and the 22nd July 2016. It's the week after Kylie's untimely demise, and the Platts are trying to come to terms with what's happened. Will David be able to put his desire for revenge behind him and support Max, or will Kylie's final words echoing (rather annoyingly!) in his mind drive him to take the law into his own hands? Elsewhere on the Street, we discover who the father of Leanne's baby really is, and Mary has a jar-dropping moment when Dev blurts out to Erica the truth - or what he thinks is the truth, at least - about what went on during the recent spa trip. Next up we have a listener question segment, where we ponder Corrie's portrayal of politics and compare various Street exits over the years. There's a tonne of news to cover in The Kabin, including more details about the upcoming tour, plus some spoilery bits of cast news which we discuss at the end of the show after a bumper feedback segment.

  • Conversation Street Episode 208

    16/07/2016 Duration: 02h23min

On our latest podcast, we natter about the episodes of Corrie broadcast in the UK between the 11th and the 15th July. This week, there's a close shave for Billy when the bishop, nearly catches him with new boyfriend Todd. He's not the only one with boss problems either, as one of Caz's superiors hunts her down and we finally discover the truth about her supposed accident. Caz wants to run away and start a new life, and she's not the only one - when the ghost of Callum gets too much for Kylie to bear, she decides to up sticks and move to Barbados. Sadly, though, tragedy strikes on Friday and David is left a widower. We discuss the harrowing scenes and although we both agreed that Kylie's exit was pretty spectacular, we found it hard to not let our feelings about ITV revealing she would die beforehand colour our viewing experience. There's a Rodwell Reunion on the Street this week, and for our character profile, we take a look back at Michael's first two years in Weatherfield. Finally, we round off the show wit

  • Conversation Street Episode 207

    10/07/2016 Duration: 02h46min

A bit of a late show this week - sorry folks! Hopefully it'll be worth the wait! In Episode 207, we chat about Coronation Street between the 4th and the 8th July. What a rollercoaster it's been for Billy this week - there's been a lot of to-ing and fro-ing between Todd and Sean, but by Friday, it looks like the decision's been made - and we weren't necessarily pleased with the result! Also on the show, Sarah gets the closest she's ever been to revealing the truth about Callum's murder, and David and Kylie are sweating even more than Dev in the health spa sauna! Speaking of which, that little storyline with him and Mary may not have been one of the biggest of the week, but it was certainly one of our favourites. After Street Talk, we look back at the main Corrie storylines from the first half of 2016 and discuss our highs and lows, before heading over to The Kabin to hear about Sally Dynevor's forthcoming charity bike ride. Next up, we hear some more listeners' thoughts about next year's sixth weekly episode,

  • Conversation Street Episode 206

    02/07/2016 Duration: 02h54min

On our latest show, we pull apart the episodes of Coronation Street broadcast in the UK between the 29th June and the 1st July. A sad week for Jason Grimshaw fans this week, as the ex-Mr Gay Weatherfield leaves his home turf for pastures new in Thailand. This gives Phelan the perfect chance to swoop in and take over the builder's yard... but maybe things won't be quite as easy for him as he'd expected. Meanwhile, there are reunions aplenty as both Steve and Michelle and Kirk and Beth settle their differences, plus a mystery caller for Leanne gets viewers' tongues waggling. There was huge news for Corrie fans this week when ITV announced its intention to schedule a sixth weekly episode from Autumn 2017. In the Kabin, we weigh up the pros and cons of this bold move, including some comments from listeners. The feedback keeps on coming in our final section, which includes one listener's fascinating insight into mental health care in the US vs. the UK. We round off the episode with a bit off off-topic talk: on a l

  • Conversation Street Episode 205

    25/06/2016 Duration: 02h22min

Our latest podcast covers the episodes of Corrie shown in the UK between the 19th and the 24th June. Poor old Sarah - one minute she's being held hostage by Billy's drug-addled brother, the next she's being dragged away by the men in white coats (well kind of) after barricading herself into #8 in fear of Callum coming to get her from beyond the grave. Surely the truth about the murder will come out soon now? Meanwhile, Alex gets a buzz from taking the Woody out for a spin, and Kirk discovers an unexpected hidden talent. Next up, we have our listener question segment, where we ponder whether Sean will ever find true love and if the current crop of Corrie kids will still be around in 15 years' time. The Kabin segment has us giving our predictions for the 2016 Inside Soap Awards, then we finish off with some listener feedback.

  • Conversation Street Episode 204

    18/06/2016 Duration: 02h10min

On our latest podcast, we discuss the episodes of Corrie broadcast in the UK between the 12th and the 14th June. This week, Izzy's due in court over her possession of cannabis. All she has to do is keep quiet and apologise.. No surprises how that goes! Meanwhile, he's barely been above ground for a month and now they're shoving him back in again - yes, Tuesday's episode sees Callum's funeral take place, and Sarah's not the only one finding it tough to keep it together. And speaking of keeping together, that's something that Billy and Sean are unable to do this week, when the vicar's secrecy drives a final wedge between the couple. After Street Talk, we look back at the youngest of the original Corrie cast for a classic character profile - 60s wild child Lucille Hewitt. In a slow news week, the Kabin sees us discussing a low-flying seagull's dirty protest of Michelle Connor's constant moaning, then we finish off the show with some listener feedback.

  • Conversation Street Episode 203

    11/06/2016 Duration: 01h36min

This week, we cover the episodes of Corrie broadcast in the UK between the 6th and the 8th June. We only have three episodes to cover this week, with a fair amount of that being taken up by the Platts and the McDonalds; in fact, it's a surprise we didn't get more of a crossover between the two, with Michelle seeing a headline on the Gazette about a murder victim being discovered on the Street and her announcing, "He's not the real victim around here - *I* am!" After Street Talk, we have an interview with Glenda Young about her latest book release: The Little Book of Carla Connor. She tells us about the process of condensing Carla's decade on the Street into a pocket-sized paperback, as well as sharing some of her favourite and least favourite Mrs Connor moments. In The Kabin, we discuss Shayne Ward's recent comments that there are more stunts coming to the cobbles, before finding out about a new Facebook group for US Corrie fans in the feedback section.

  • Conversation Street Episode 202

    04/06/2016 Duration: 02h31min

In our latest podcast, we dissect the episodes of Corrie shown in the UK between the 30th May and the 3rd June. With Callum's body now above ground, the time has come for the police to find out whodunnit. Was it man of the house David? Hysterical sister Sarah? Builder with a grudge Jason? Everyone seems to be a suspect this week - apart from other sibling Nick, for some reason, who we'd say looks mightily suspicious having seemingly disappeared off the face of the Earth during the investigation! Meanwhile, there's more romance in the air for Roy and Cathy, a lot less romance in the bedroom than Rana would like with Zeedan, and a teen romance that just won't stop haunting Michelle. After Street Talk, you can hear all about our Saturday evening as crazy celeb stalkers outside the British Soap Awards, then we find out which gongs Corrie took home in the news section. We round off the episode with your thoughts on last week's drama in the feedback segment.

  • Conversation Street Episode 201

    27/05/2016 Duration: 02h46min

This week's podcast covers the episodes of Corrie shown in the UK between the 22nd and the 26th May. It's the week of the Britain's Got Talent finals here in the UK, and you know what that means: five days of late night Corrie episodes, with the promise of plenty of excitement. The storyline that dominated the week was Carla and Nick's wedding, though by the end of the week, following a spectacular stunt on Wednesday night, it's the corpse of Callum that's taking centre stage. It was a solid week for sure, but how did it compare to Britain's Got Talent weeks of the past? Well, that's the hot topic in the second half of the podcast, where we look back over the stories that have dominated this special week since 2010. We round off the podcast with some shocking news about Beverly Callard's viewing habits, before finishing off with some listener feedback.

  • Conversation Street Episode 200

    21/05/2016 Duration: 02h07min

We finally made it! Episode 200 of Conversation Street is here, and what a show we have for you this week. We start off by reading some of your lovely tributes to the podcast, before launching into Street Talk and a chat about the episodes of Corrie broadcast in the UK between the 16th and the 20th May. There's high drama in Blackpool in Monday's double bill, with a fab homage to Alan Bradley's grisly demise when Jenny throws herself in front of a tram to save Jack. And if the adrenaline from that didn't get her heart pumping enough, some serious flirting with Johnny back in Weatherfield later in the week is sure to do the job! Elsewhere on the Street, Izzy succeeds in keeping us fully entertained when she's arrested for possession of cannabis, and the truth behind Billy's mysterious visitor finally comes to light. After Street Talk, we head into a quick news segment, before hearing about your ideas about a potential Bethany/Craig pairing in the feedback section. The highlight of the episode, though, comes in

  • Conversation Street Episode 199

    14/05/2016 Duration: 01h59min

It's one week to go until our 200th episode, and this week, we talk about Coronation Street between the 9th and the 13th May. Not too bad a set of episodes, but we did feel like there were a lot of characters being unreasonably gittish to other people First there was Roy, back from Hastings and jumping down Cathy's throat for buying an 'expresso' machine; next there was Jason refusing to let his mum into Tony's funeral even though she hadn't done anything wrong; then there's Caitlin snubbing Craig on their date at the Bistro, Sally still being nasty to Jenny... the list goes on! Thank goodness for smiley little Jack showing up on Wednesday to warm our hearts! After Street Talk, Zeedan Nazir is the focus of our character profile, and as you might imagine, there's quite a bit of talk about how his beliefs are handled on Corrie. The Kabin segment has a bit of a musical theme, as we learn about new side projects from Catherine Tyldesley and Bruno Langley, then we finish off the show with some listener feedback. D

  • Conversation Street Episode 198

    07/05/2016 Duration: 01h36min

The latest podcast covers the episodes of Coronation Street broadcast in the UK between the 2nd and the 6th May. This week, Nick and Sarah compete for the title of 'Which of Gail's kids is the most nuts?' - who'd ever have thought that David would be out of the running for that one..?! Jason also doesn't seem to be thinking straight on Friday's episode, when his grief over Tony's death leads him into the very eager arms of Gemma. Meanwhile, with the anniversary of the Victoria Court fire looming on the horizon, Yasmeen's solution for dealing with the loss of her son is to have an orangery built. Hey, if it's going to get up Sally's nose, we're all for it! There's good news all round in The Kabin segment, where we discuss British Soap Award nominations, Alan Halsall's reunion with Lucy-Jo, and the recently announced new book by Glenda Young. We round off the episode with a bumper crop of listener feedback, including some defence of Sophie Webster.

  • Conversation Street Episode 197

    30/04/2016 Duration: 02h10min

This week's podcast focuses on the episodes of Coronation Street broadcast in the UK between the 25th and 29th April. Ryan Thomas gives a cracking performance this week when Jason discovers the shocking news that his dad Tony has died. Were Corrie right to kill him off, and to do so off screen? Tune in to find out what we think! We also discuss what Billy's big secret could be, and give our thoughts on Zeedan's decision not to 'disrespect' Rana. After Street Talk, we respond to some listener questions, including which characters from other shows we'd like to see appear on the cobbles. Next up, we find out the hidden costs behind hiring background artistes (by the way, we'd happily do it for free if any Corrie bigwigs are reading this!) before rounding off the show with some listener feedback.

  • Conversation Street Episode 196

    23/04/2016 Duration: 01h46min

On our latest podcast, we dissect the episodes of Corrie shown in the UK between the 18th and the 22nd April. Fans of Michelle beware: she does not come off lightly from our discussion of her storyline this week! It was only a few weeks ago that we were saying how much the character has turned a corner recently; little did we know that this diversion would lead her into the arms - and bed! - of another man... Speaking of awkward romantic entanglements, Caz is back on the Street this week having injured herself in some kind of parachuting incident. Rather than tumbling to her death, though, she's simply landed herself on Kate's sofa with her feet up - and she really isn't happy! Meanwhile, Phelan's up to his old tricks again, breaking into the community centre in order to stop an anti-Frescho meeting. He'd better watch his back, though, as fellow supervillain Todd is on his case! In The Kabin, we talk about the rumours of Paddy McGuiness' character returning to the show, then hear from an American listener who
