On this week's episode of Conversation Street, we celebrate the podcast's one year anniversary, as well as discussing the Corrie episodes shown in the UK between the 12th and the 16th August. Nick's not the only one fighting for his life this week, as Rita comes under attack from a bunch of teenagers on the Red Rec. Scary stuff indeed, although maybe not quite as terrfying as the prospect now faced by Craig of having the ever-creepy Karl as his best friend for the rest of his life. Meanwhile, we chat about the pros and cons of banning jogging bottoms and ponder whether a blast of Adam Rickett's 'Breathe Again' is just what Nick needs to get him out of his coma. In the character profile section, we say sayonara Kamara and take a look back on Mandy's brief time on the Street, then roll our eyes at Chris Fountain's off-screen antics in the news section. Feedback this week mostly centres around a discussion on how well Beth has managed to step out of Cilla's shadow.

We're back from our holiday, which means seven episodes to catch up with in Street Talk - it definitely turns out to be a long one! The main topic of conversation is, of course, the smashing time that Nick and David had during their late night drive on Monday evening. As David recalls the events of the accident to the police, can he avoid the finger of suspicion being pointed his way? And is the storyline enough of a distraction for Tina to stop her becoming embroiled once more in the lives of Gary and Izzy? We can only hope.. There are some wonderful scenes this week between Roy, Hayley and Sylvia, ranging from the bittersweet humour of Roy's sleep-cleaning to the shocking revelation that Hayley only has a one in five chance of surviving the pancreatic cancer she's developed. Hats off to Alison King's acting this week too - we've loved seeing her play both the caring boss to Hayley and the excited newly engaged fiancée to Peter. Elsewhere on the Street, Marcus just isn't man enough to deal with Audrey's damp patch, leaving Owen to take control, and the racism story begins to get just a bit silly. With the big C on our minds this week, we look at fan favourite Alma Halliwell in the character profile section, and in The Kabin we discuss Corrie's latest batch of award nominations.

Meanwhile, there's some devastating news for Hayley at the medical centre... the dishy Doctor Carter has upped and left! Oh, and she might also have cancer. Congratulations are in order for new mum Katy Cavanagh in our news section, and we also take a look at the always entertaining Helen Flanagan's latest career move.

With Britain's Got Talent filling up ITV's prime slots this week, Corrie's been bumped to 9pm, but how do the episodes compare to previous 'big weeks' in the past? There's drama at the Rovers' reopening as Tina goes into labour two months early; meanwhile, at the opposite end of the Street, there's a stitch up afoot in the knicker factory. And what's Sally up to on t'Internet? Not mechanic/conservatory fetish sites, as we first thought, but she's entered the world of online dating! No character profile again this week (it'll be back next week, we promise!) but we do have quite a bit of news to cover in the Kabin, including Helen Flanagan's recent brush with the law..

It's a short episode this week, coming out earlier than usual due to our trip to London this weekend. As such, we only discuss the episodes of Coronation Street shown between the 20th and 22nd May. The Surro-gate and Ches Mis storylines collide, as Katy finds out about Gary making a pass at Tina, while there's a welcome return to the cobbles for Sinead. Meanwhile, Peter's had enough of Rob at the bookies, and Roy seems to have had enough of, well.. everyone. We celebrate Corrie's triumph at the British Soap Awards in the news section, whilst looking ahead to yet another set of telly awards, and we round things off with a bit of feedback.

Apart from the continuing drama between Peter and Rob (the bookie and the rookie, as we're calling them), it's all change for the other main storylines this week. While Dev, Faye and Chesnsey take a bit of a break, we catch up with the latest developments between Karl and Stella, and Paul and Eileen. We also celebrate the return of the Platts (even if the Who's The Daddy? storyline is unfortunately far from over) and finally get an explanation as to why we won't be seeing Kevin for a while. In the news section, it's been a good week for Helen Flanagan... less so for Bill Roache. Our character profile this week is the man of many faces (and ages!) Peter Barlow.
