  • Conversation Street Episode 74

    28/12/2013 Duration: 01h15min

On this week's episode of Conversation Street, we discuss the Christmas episodes of Corrie, broadcast in the UK between the 22nd and the 27th December. Father Christmas' Naughty List must be extra long this year, after Nick smacks Leanne, Kylie ends up behind bars, and Tina and Peter steal another kiss... and we don't think he takes too kindly to people knocking down Christmas trees either, Hayley! (Okay, maybe we'll let it slide, under the circumstances...) At least we had the comedy antics of Steve and Deirdre to keep us feeling festive. There's some good news about Christmas ratings in the Kabin this week, while in the feedback section, we discuss a recent continuity error that we'd missed.

  • Conversation Street Episode 73

    21/12/2013 Duration: 01h16min

This week on the podcast, we chat about the episodes of Coronation Street broadcast in the UK between the 16th and the 20th December. It's certainly been a week of big moves: Packham's packed up, ready for his move to Wales, Tina's moving onto her next man, and Gloria seems to be making the moves on Dennis. Meanwhile, history repeats itself as a drunk parent shows up at the Bessie Street Nativity, but it may not be who you were expecting... In the news section of the show, we share our thoughts on Corrie's contribution to this year's Text Santa appeal, and take a look at the Christmas scheduling for the UK and Canada. Our character profile of the week is bumbling teacher Brian Packham - pay attention: there will be a test!

  • Conversation Street Episode 72

    14/12/2013 Duration: 01h31min

This week on Conversation Street, we chat about the episodes of Corrie broadcast in the UK between the 8th and the 13th December in the UK. It's confession time this week, as David is convinced by Nick to turn himself in to the police, whilst Brian finally bucks up the courage to come clean to Julie. It seems that it's just Todd who doesn't have a conscience, as he continues to stir up as much trouble as he can. Meanwhile, as Dev's mission to keep fit gets serious, Dennis has got a new project of his own, and Rita's not happy... There's no character profile this week, but we spend the next part of the podcast kicking of our Conversation Street Awards 2013, before salivating over the proposals for next year's Coronation Street set tour.

  • Conversation Street Episode 71

    07/12/2013 Duration: 01h22min

On this week's show, we talk about the episodes of Coronation Street broadcast in the UK between the 2nd and the 6th December in the UK. Put on your fanciest hat because it's wedding time again; this week we see Peter making Carla an honest woman, but just how honest is the groom being himself? As David struggles to live with the heartache of being separated from his family, Dev tries to avoid a different kind of heartache altogether by starting up a fitness regime. Meanwhile, Hayley agonises over the second coming of Christian, which is the main talking point in our feedback section. In our character profile section, we take a look back to one of Peter's previous wives (or was she?) - the lovely Shelley Unwin.

  • Conversation Street Episode 70

    30/11/2013 Duration: 01h36min

On this week's podcast, we chat about the episodes of Coronation Street broadcast in the UK between the 25th and the 29th November 2013. The tinsel's up in the Rovers, which means it's time to get out our jingly Christmas theme tune! Yes, there's a chill in the Weatherfield air, and things are definitely looking frosty between Grace and Faye following last week's humiliation of Simon. Meanwhile, there's a serious case of cold feet over at Underworld, as Peter has doubts about his wedding to Carla. Off-screen, there was big news in Corrie world this week, as the new set was officially opened. We take a look at the photos and share our thoughts on how it's turned out, before rounding off with some feedback. Our character profile this week is of Simon Barlow.

  • Conversation Street Episode 69

    23/11/2013 Duration: 01h12min

On Episode 69 of the podcast, we chat about the episodes of Coronation Street broadcast in the UK between the 17th and the 22nd November. This week, Brian reveals to Marcus that he's giving up on teaching and can't stand children, and looking at the likes of Grace, who's getting viler by the episode, we can hardly blame him! Meanwhile, someone who hasn't lost his passion for education is Steve, as he begins his weekly skive at night school. Qualifications aren't everything though, of course, as Sinead manages to find out by strolling into a factory job without even trying! In the Kabin section, we preview next year's World of Coronation Street tour, whilst the feedback section sees us pondering which Corrie characters would make the best companion for Doctor Who.

  • Conversation Street Episode 68

    16/11/2013 Duration: 01h18min

In this week's podcast, we chat about the episodes of Coronation Street broadcast in the UK between the 11th and the 13th November. With only three episodes to talk about, Street Talk is a little shorter this week, but we still have plenty to say about Todd's new job, Simon's brush with the law and Jane's funeral. And on the subject of funerals, let's hope that after this week, Tommy and Tina's relationship can finally be laid to rest, and people will stop talking about him! In the news section, we celebrate the return of the Corriefest next July, whilst the feedback section sees us discussing how Roy has been dealing with Hayley's determination to end her own life. With Tina taking on the job of looking after Simon this week, we take a look a look at a childminder from Corrie's past in our character profile section: Claire Peacock.

  • Conversation Street Episode 67

    09/11/2013 Duration: 01h33min

On the latest podcast, we chat about the episodes of Corrie broadcast between the 4th and the 8th November. We've been celebrating fireworks night this week in the UK, and over on the cobbles, sparks have been flying thanks to Todd's return. He's got plenty of tales to tell about his life in London, but can we really trust him? Meanwhile, Roy's been doing a touch of decorating in anticipation of Hayley's return home, though we soon find out that it'll take more than that to paper over the cracks in his and Hayley's relationship. There's loads for us to discuss in The Kabin this week, including the amazing news that the Coronation Street set is going to be reopened to the public in the Spring. The character profile section this week is all about Todd Grimshaw.

  • Conversation Street Episode 66

    02/11/2013 Duration: 01h23min

This week on the podcast, we talk about the episodes of Coronation Street broadcast in the UK between the 28th October and the 1st November. It's been Halloween and  we've seen our fair share of monstrous figures on the cobbles this week: Nick's been doing his best Jekyll and Hyde impression since coming out of his coma; screeching harpy Tina is still getting involved in everyone else's problems; evil little imp Grace is causing more mischief for Sally and Anna; whilst the witches grim - Stella, Gloria and Leanne - have been having a good old moan at the Bistro.  Our character profile for Halloween week is Corrie's scariest ever villain - Richard Hillman,  then we round off the show by discussing Corrie's grisliest moments in the feedback section.

  • Conversation Street Episode 65

    28/10/2013 Duration: 01h27min

On this week's episode of Conversation Street, we chat about the Corrie episodes broadcast in the UK between the 21st and the 25th October. It's certainly been a good week for break ups, with Sophie and Jenna finally coming to their senses and calling it a day, whilst Tina's involvement in David's woes has led Tommy to make a hasty exit. Meanwhile, Roy and Hayley still aren't seeing eye to eye, and Sally and Tim only manage to stay together by the skin of their teeth.  We share our thoughts on all of this in Street Talk, as well as discussing Chesney's latest job offer and making a startling revelation about the true cause of Tina's orange hue. In The Kabin, we have a look at how Corrie fared at the Inside Soap Awards, while the feedback section sees us wondering what famous Corrie props should show up at Barlow's Buys. In the character profile section we take a look at Tommy and ask whether this could be the end of the line for the Duckworths on the Street.

  • Conversation Street Episode 64

    19/10/2013 Duration: 01h42min

On the latest episode of the podcast, we share our thoughts on the episodes broadcast in the UK between the 13th and the 18th October. This week, we got to see some fantastic scenes between Roy and Hayley, as they headed off to Blackpool to tread the boards at the Tower Ballroom. Back in Weatherfield, the 'Who's The Daddy?' storyline finally reaches its climax, with the Platts renouncing the devil (aka David) at Lily's christening. Meanwhile, there's a welcome return for an old face at the Rovers. Instead of the usual character profile, we take a look back at Corrie's history with Blackpool, before finishing off with some discussion about Corrie's latest celebrity fan.

  • Conversation Street Episode 63

    12/10/2013 Duration: 01h17min

This week on Conversation Street, we talk about the episodes of Corrie broadcast in the UK between the 4th and the 9th October. What did we make of Hayley's new friend from the cancer support group? Which unpopular character has had a complete turnaround in our opinions this week? And who's gone to live on a farm with Auntie Pam? All this and more will be revealed! Our character profile this week is loveable baker's daughter Molly Dobbs, who went from crumpets to strumpet during her short time in the show. We also uncover more than a few similarities between her final year in the Street and the current storyline with the Platts. Not a huge amount of news this week, but in the feedback section, we share listeners' opinions about who should be next to be taken down a peg or two by Nick.

  • Conversation Street Episode 62

    04/10/2013 Duration: 39min

This week on the podcast, we chat about the episodes of Coronation Street broadcast between the 30th September and the 2nd October. We've got a busy few days coming up this weekend, so we've had to record early, with this show ending up being one of our shortest in months. Never fear, though, as we still manage to pack in plenty of discussion on such topics as Leanne's comedy interpretation of Nick's mumblings, Tina's shocking moment out of character, and Hayley coming to term with her fear of puppets. Speaking of which, we also bid a joyful farewell to Ryan Connor, Corrie's very own irritating wooden performer.

  • Conversation Street Episode 61

    28/09/2013 Duration: 01h32min

This week on the podcast, we talk about the episodes of Coronation Street shown in the UK between the 23rd and the 27th September. It's all change at the Rovers this week, as Michelle gets herself a barmaid's job and Steve offers to buy the pub from Stella. Meanwhile, as Hayley finally gets to meet her son, Kylie has a Christian of her own to contend with at number 8. Following a stellar acting performance from Ben Price this week, we thought it only right to cover Nick Tilsley in the character profile section. We round off the podcast with a spot of news, including Corrie's latest victory over rival Emmerdale, and a few bits of feedback.

  • Conversation Street Episode 60

    21/09/2013 Duration: 01h33min

On Episode 60 of Conversation Street, we talk about the episodes of Corrie shown in the UK between the 16th and the 20th September 2013. We try something different with Street Talk this week, having cut down on the notes taken to try and make the conversation sound more organic and less wooden, like we're just reading off a script. So basically we're trying to sound less like Ryan Connor. We'd appreciate any feedback you have on this change, good or bad, so please let us know! There's a lot of chat this week, of course, about the preparations for Roy's birthday party, including a look at where we think the Croppers are in the five stages of grief. On a more upbeat note, we have a good laugh discussing Sally's hopeless relationship with Tim, and the Fiz-Tyrone-Sinead-Chesney storyline left us with a warm, fuzzy feeling by the end of the week. With the reintroduction of Hayley's controversial son Christian, we chat about what we would like to erase from Coronation Street's history, and our classic character pro

  • Conversation Street Episode 59

    14/09/2013 Duration: 01h39min

On this week's podcast, we discuss the episodes of Coronation Street shown in the UK between the 8th and the 13th September. Roll out the beige carpet and tart up the back room of Weatherfield Register Office - Stell's bells are ringing as the wedding of the year finally arrives. But will Detectives Alahan and Grimshaw crack the case of the Rovers fire in time - or will it be Karl who's cracking under pressure? Meanwhile, Sally's skiving off work for another steamy session with Tim, and Audrey has an unexpected bedroom encounter of her own... We celebrate the acquittal of Michael Le Vell in The Kabin, discuss Helen Flanagan's powerful bosom, and hear exactly what Vicky Entwhistle thinks of her charming Geordie housemate in Celebrity Big Brother. Our character profile this week is Karl Munro.

  • Conversation Street Episode 58

    05/09/2013 Duration: 01h41min

On this week's Conversation Street, we chat about the episodes of Corrie broadcast in the UK between the 1st and the 4th September in the UK. It seems like time is a common theme on the show this week - as Roy sits looking at the clock during Hayley's operation, time's surely running out for a desperate Karl, who's going to whatever lengths he can to keep Craig quiet. Meanwhile, Michelle's getting stressed out by all the extra hours she's putting in at the factory, and Sinead decides it's time to give Chesney another chance. In the news section, we catch up with the latest news from the Celebrity Big Brother house, then ask 'Is there anything that Katy can do to be less boring?' in the feedback section. To mark the tenth anniversary of his departure from the show, this week in the character profile section we point our telescope in the direction of everyone's favourite supermarket manager-cum-astronomer, Curly Watts.

  • Conversation Street Episode 57

    29/08/2013 Duration: 01h12min

On this week's podcast, we talk about the episodes of Coronation Street shown in the UK between the 26th and the 28th August. With no Friday episodes of Corrie this week, Street Talk is a little shorter than usual, but there's still plenty of chat about Sally and Anna's 'barbefeud', the Street's latest newborn and the neverending love triangle between Chesney, Katy and Sinead. We also celebrate the return of Roy and Hayley to the Street, even if it does mean that the Norris-Mary-Emily house sharing story we were looking forward to never materialised. In the news section, we share our thoughts about the real reason for Stephanie Cole's quick departure, catch up with how Bruce and Vicky are doing in the Celebrity Big Brother house, and uncover a new way to deter those pesky people who keep disturbing your Corrie watching session to try and and sell you things down the phone! This week's character profile is the recently departed fireman, Paul Kershaw.

  • Conversation Street Episode 56

    24/08/2013 Duration: 01h45min

This week on the podcast, we talk about the episodes of Coronation Street broadcast in the UK between the 19th and the 23rd August. There were absolutely loads of storylines mixed into this week's episodes, including the end of the racism story, the continuation of Karl's desperation to cover up his involvement in the Rovers fire, and the start of a new dawn for Chesney and Katy. For us, though, it was Sally's garden party preparations (who knew you could do fish fingers, chips and beans on the barbecue?) and Brian's musings about hitting the big 5-0 that were the highlights of the week. The real drama, of course, happened off-screen this week, and we spend a chunk of time discussing our own and listeners' opinions about Chris Fountain's sacking. We were both pleased to see Bruce Jones and Vicky Entwhistle show up on Celebrity Big Brother on Thursday, so we decided to make our character profile all about Les Battersby.
