The 4-7-8 Relaxing Breath For Stress Management
11/12/2018 Duration: 08minWelcome back, I hope this finds you well. Today's show is a short practice of breath work. The 4-7-8 breath has shown to be very successful in reducing anxiety and stress. Andrew Weil MD. teaches this breath often as an anti anxiety tool. When preparing for the breath, be seated in a comfortable chair or sit with your back against a wall. This breath is not recommended lying down. Practice this breath 2x a day and no more than 4 cycles each. Continue for 4-6 weeks. You may want to record your progress each day and see how you feel. Pranayama and Remover Of Obstacles Meditation and Chant
16/10/2018 Duration: 11minWelcome to today's meditation. Today I am incorporating pranayama and chanting into our time together. Pranayama is breath work. This breath is called Ujiya breath. It is a sounded breath that you make with your lips closed from the back of your throat. It will sound echoey and oceaney. It is meditative in nature and calming. Follow along on the IN breath and the OUT breath. The chant is the remover of obstacles. in Sanskrit it is “Om Gam Ganapataye Namaha". It is encouraged to chant this 108 times to remove obstacles on your path. You can count or use Mala beads for this. Think about what's in your way? Ask Ganesh (the elephant deity) to assist you. The three cards pulled are for the beginning, middle and end of the week. Use these messages as guideposts and navigation. I encourage you to do some journaling work around the messages.
