  • Episode 37

    26/10/2018 Duration: 35min

Have you been experiencing a batch of mystery symptoms or been wondering if there's a food you're sensitive to?  Jackie and I quickly discovered that, in true nourishing vocabulary fashion, we'd much prefer to call this the Identification Diet...but for ease of conversation, we're sticking with the classic name for this nutrition project that helps participants identify food sensitivities in a foolproof way.  Today's episode is information heavy for those who have been wondering what all the fuss is with the elimination diet!  But it's also heavy on personal anecdotes as I share my most recent experience with identifying food sensitivities.  (It worked, by the way.  I'm so glad to be feeling good when I eat again!) Linkable discussed in this episode: Arnett Farms. Special thanks to Amy Van Vlear for original design and Jonathan Byram for original music! Do you want to dive deeper?  Follow up with me if you're looking for help with crafting your own elimination diet.  Send us a message or find me over on Insta

  • Episode 36

    19/10/2018 Duration: 32min

Ingrid has her baby girl in her arms!  Congratulations, friend.  We snuck in one more recording before she began her maternity leave and had fun brainstorming ideas for setting baby up to make great food choices.  I love how whenever we've talked about children on the show, the themes of grace and balance come up.  Because at the end of the day, there is no one right way for adults to eat...so there won't be one right way for kids to eat either!   Linkables discussed in this episode: Katie's Crib episode on breastfeeding. Ingrid's new 4-in-1 Baby Food Maker! Special thanks to Amy Van Vlear for original design and Jonathan Byram for original music! Are you pregnant?  How can we support you in your journey to prepare for baby's nutrition?  Send us a message, connect with Ingrid on ingridadelsberger.com, or find me over on Instagram @ifeelsupernourished.

Are you wondering if paying the extra fifty cents for organic bananas is really worth it?  Do conventional foods definitely lead to disease...or just maybe?  Well Alex and I are here to sort out facts from assumptions as we discuss the merits of organic vs. conventional foods today.  More than anything, I just want you to have the information about organic food so you can make a decision for your diet that you're comfortable with.  Stay tuned 'til the end where I divulge that buying organic food is not actually a huge priority for me right now! Linkables discussed in this episode: Enneagram type descriptions. Mayo Clinic's definition of organic foods. The Environmental Working Group's 2018 Shopper's Guide to Pesticides in Produce. The Non GMO Project's definition of genetically modified organisms. Special thanks to Amy Van Vlear for original design and Jonathan Byram for original music! Jackie and I don't think there's anything "Basic" about pumpkins as a nutrient rich, delicious fall vegetable!  That's right, today we're diving into some of our favorite fall produce, complete with a round of stump the cook.  But first, we take some time to check in on mental health and discuss medication and stigma in a way that I hope will encourage you!  Also, at the time of our recording, Inside Trader Joe's was only a mini-series, but their team has since dropped new episodes...yay!  See the link below. Linkables discussed in this episode: Inside Trader Joe's. My pumpkin chili and whole grain cornbread muffins recipes. The Spruce Eats alphabetical list of Fall Fruits and Vegetables. • Episode 32

    21/09/2018 Duration: 30min

Our journey with Ingrid and her pregnancy continues today as we discuss what movement can look like during each trimester of pregnancy.  Ingrid is our level-headed and humble pregnant sherpa as she stays open to how delivery and a postpartum body will be!  She also trusts us with the sad mention of her experience with miscarriage and while we don't spend much time getting into the topic on today's show, we both care that it's handled with the attention and sensitivity it deserves, so I'll link to two super encouraging episodes on this topic from other podcasts: Miscarriages: You Are Not Alone, on Katie's Crib. Ep. 144 Grieving with Hope with Adriel Booker on Sorta Awesome. Other linkables discussed in this episode: Our recent episode on Exercise vs. Movement.  Copper Top BBQ. Special thanks to Amy Van Vlear for original design and Jonathan Byram for original music! Are you pregnant?  We want to cheer you on as you navigate the many facets of the journey, including movement.  Connect with Ingrid here on her

  • Episode 31

    14/09/2018 Duration: 37min

Alex and I are here for the snacks!  We had so much fun talking about nostalgic favorites, quizzing each other on why our bodies might be craving the particular snacks they are, and even digging into the idea of when not to snack.  I know you're going to relate to something in today's episode because what occurred to me as I listened back was how universal this topic is.  Most of us in this country are so blessed to have an abundance of food and we want to steward that abundance well...which makes snacking a topic worth spending time on! Linkables discussed in this episode: Episode 6: Cravings. My Freezer Fudge recipe. Special thanks to Amy Van Vlear for original design and Jonathan Byram for original music. What stuck out to you today?  Are you needing to be more mindful in the snacking department?  Or were you simply encouraged to enjoy your snacking rituals the way I was?  We'd love to know!  Send us a message or connect with me over on Instagram @ifeelsupernourished.

  • Episode 30

    07/09/2018 Duration: 37min

Lorrie and I can't wait to share with you our best tricks and methods for getting the fresh start that so many of us crave after less structured summer months.  Whether you need inspiration to stick with those New Year's intentions you set ages ago (or so it seems), or you need help figuring out why the goals haven't panned out as you'd dreamed, we have hope for you!  Let's dig in and get back on track together. Linkables discussed in this episode: Episode 5: Where to Start. Schedule a complementary coaching call with... Christine, on the Contact page of ifeelsupernourished.com... Lorrie on the Scheduling page of lorriegray.com... or Ingrid on the Connect with Me page of ingridadelsberger.com. Special thanks to Amy Van Vlear for original design and Jonathan Byram for original music! • Episode 29

    31/08/2018 Duration: 35min

Jackie and I always have a good time recording together...but today's episode is extra special, in my opinion.  We came into the conversation expecting to discuss age.  Which we did!  But the conversation evolved into something even more timely.  All I can say is listen in if you want to know what it feels like for Jackie to preach (and you do)!  I'm so glad to call her friend.  Linkables discussed in this episode: Why America's Black Mothers and Babies are in a Life-or-Death Crisis, from The New York Times. 10 Small Habits That Help You Age Well, from Huffington Post. Special thanks to Amy Van Vlear for original design and Jonathan Byram for original music! Let us know what you think!  Did anything in our conversation, from aging to race and class disparities in the medical world leave you with questions...concerns...insights?  We'd love to talk more.  Send us a message or connect with me over on Instagram.

  • Episode 28

    24/08/2018 Duration: 30min

Whether you're pregnant or just fascinated with pregnancy and childbirth (which I admit is the boat I've been in since the age of ten), then you're going to love this season's episodes featuring Ingrid.  Each time we chat, she and I will be discussing some aspect of health in the pregnancy or postpartum seasons.  Today, that's prenatal nutrition! Ever standing upon our truth that there is no one-size-fits-all diet, Ingrid and I are sure curious to dive into conventional prenatal nutrition advice that suspiciously seems to be the same for all women.  Hear how she's advocating for her own health and deciding what's best for her OMS lifestyle diet. Are you pregnant?  We'd love to connect with you personally and cheer you on in the journey!  Send us a message, connect with Ingrid here on her website, or find me over on Instagram to let me know how you're doing.

  • Episode 27

    17/08/2018 Duration: 29min

As promised many times in season 1, Alex and I are excited to finally share this episode on my movement philosophy...she asks me some good questions, challenges me well, and graciously encourages this philosophy that has helped me to find freedom in the way I'm working my body.  It's a good listen especially if you're someone who feels stuck in the area of exercise! Linkables discussed in this episode: Face Mapping. Yoga with Adriene. What's your philosophy when it comes to exercise/movement?  Do you favor one approach over the other?  We'd love to know!  Send us a message connect with me over on Instagram @ifeelsupernourished.

  • Episode 26

    10/08/2018 Duration: 37min

If you're a human listening to this podcast, you've experienced stress.  How do we know that?  Because stress is a normal (neutral--not good, not bad) human response!  This is just one of the angles on stress Lorrie and I are excited to share with you today.  It's an important episode to me, since getting stress in check is something I consider a pillar for personal health. In editing, I found a point I wanted to clarify here in the show notes.  I mentioned that when I am anxious, I can feel adrenaline in my arms and legs.  Actually, what I am/we are feeling is the increased blood flow triggered by adrenaline in those moments.  Just wanted to correct myself so you have the right information! Linkables discussed in this episode: Dr. Libby Weaver's website. Pressed Juicery. What comes up for you as you listen to today's episode?  We'd love to know.  Please feel free to send your follow up questions.  Send us a message, connect with Lorrie here on her website, or connect with me over on Instagram @ifeelsupernou

  • Episode 25

    03/08/2018 Duration: 33min

Tomatoes and peaches and melons, oh my!  Jackie and I are excited to chat about summer produce...our faves, trends in the nutrients available this time of year, and even surprising fruits and vegetables that we didn't realize were in season right now. Linkables discussed in this episode: Oregon State article on Vitamin C and Skin Health. PBS on Summer Produce. What's your favorite summer fruit or vegetable?  We'd love to know!  Send us a message or connect with me over on Instagram @ifeelsupernourished.

  • Episode 24

    27/07/2018 Duration: 31min

In lieu of being in the kitchen together today, Ingrid and I wrap up our Summer Cooking series in a creative way!  I don't know about you, but when I think about wanting to help out a new or expecting mom, a good freezer meal is the first thing that comes to mind.  Listen in to hear our favorite freezer meal ideas as well as the fun update on Ingrid's pregnancy we've been looking forward to. Linkables discussed in this episode: The Yellow Collective. Safe freezing guidelines from foodsafety.gov. Blue Plate Taco. What is your favorite meal to freeze?  We'd love to know.  Send us a message, reach out to Ingrid on ingridadelsberger.com, or connect with me over on Instagram @ifeelsupernourished.

  • Episode 23

    20/07/2018 Duration: 18min

Today, I get to help Alex up her vegetable game!  She's been craving a new salad recipe to prep for lunches at work and we had fun getting inspired by summer veggies.  Listen in as we weave nourishing vocabulary and whole foods cleanses into the conversation too!  This short episode packs a punch. Linkables discussed in this episode: The Daniel Fast. Whole 30. California Pizza Kitchen's Wild Mushroom Pizza. Do you think you'll try the summer garden salad?  We'd love to know.  Send us a message or connect with me over on Instagram @ifeelsupernourished.

    13/07/2018 Duration: 21min

Today, we're heading to Lorrie's kitchen to whip up a sweet treat!  It's paleo and fruity and you're gonna love it.  Best of all, we came up with this dish on the fly (true to Lorrie's style).   And, as promised, here is my peach crisp recipe!  This one, while different from what we baked in today's episode, is also vegan and gluten free, so many can enjoy. What's your favorite thing to cook in the summer?  We'd love to know.  Send us a message, connect with Lorrie here on her website, or connect with me over on Instagram @ifeelsupernourished.
