    25/10/2019 Duration: 38min

What is dinnertime like in your home?  Are any of your kids in a selective phase where taking just one more bite of "healthy" food is the battle to end all battles...especially at 6pm when everyone's energy levels are tanked?  Well today, Keeley and I are talking about a revolutionary feeding philosophy that could change all that!  You all know by now I'm so not into gimmicky language, so I really mean it when I say it--the Division of Responsibility method MAKES SENSE.  We'll discuss what it is, what it's not, and answer some common objections (namely: "What if my kid only ever eats one food for the rest of her life?").  Let's get into this! Linkables discussed in this episode: We Feel Super Nourished! Episode 71: Teaching Kids to Cook. We Feel Super Nourished! Episode 72: Packing School Lunches. Best of The Comfort Food Podcast's episodes on Division of Responsibility: Episode 19, Episode 47, and Episode 48. Ellyn Satter's Division of Responsibility website. While self care certainly includes quality rest, we think the topic of rest deserves its very own episode!  So, dovetailing off of last week's show, today we settle into this less active, but equally intentional form of caring for oneself.  Laura and I are each sharing what rest looks like for us on a daily, weekly, and seasonal basis.  Let's get into it! Linkables discussed in this episode: 10 Things to Tell You Episode 36. Emily P. Freeman's seasonal Reflection Lists. One Bowl Banana Bread from Tasty. The Cookie from Bristol Farms. 11/10/2019 Duration: 38min

Leah and I are a little tired of the guilt surrounding self care...and to be honest, we're not all that drawn to the self-centered approach to self care either.  Today, we want to spend some time talking about how being responsible by filling our own cups helps us to show up to the world as we intend, able to pour into others' cups.  Borrowing from the Season 1 discussion on holistic health, Leah and I can't wait to share with you the single most important way we're caring for ourselves in physical, mental, spiritual, relational, and vocational health...and we hope it inspires you to jot down your top priority in each of these areas too! Linkable discussed in this episode: Sorta Awesome Episode 162: Self-care, self-comfort, what's healthy, what's not. After all the philosophy-heavy conversations we've been airing on the podcast recently, you may assume I mean to address the condition of your emotional/soul health in an episode titled "Heart Heath".  But just when you think I'm going to zig, I zag!  (Bonus points if you can name that reference.)  Today Jackie and I are getting into the nitty gritty of high fat diets, cholesterol, and heart health...all under the umbrella of why it's important to be aware of diet culture and following the money when it comes to contradictory nutrition advice.  We'll explain... Linkables discussed in this episode: We Feel Super Nourished! 27/09/2019 Duration: 36min

Laura and I are back behind the mic, coming at you with a topic that means a whole lot to us, personally.  She and I each score quite high on Dr. Elaine Aron's Highly Sensitive Person questionnaire and have found both camaraderie and relief from being able to talk with other HSPs about some of our "quirks" more thoughtfully.  Today we discuss what an HSP is, how this trait effects our health, and some of our most successful ways to cope with the onslaught of sensory input in our world.  Let's get into it! Linkable discussed in this episode: The Highly Sensitive Person website.  Special thanks to Amy Van Vlear for original design and Jonathan Byram for original music!
