  • S17 - Hafsah bint Umar (رضي الله عنهم)- A battle took place between our mother Aisha’s رضي الله عنها forces and the rebels

    14/05/2025 Duration: 24min

Hafsah bint Umar رضي الله عنهم (S17) Hukaym Ibn Jabalah - one of the chiefs of the khawarij. He initiated a fight against our mother Aisha رضي الله عنها. Our mother instructed her forces not to fight, and to only defend themselves. Aisha رضي الله عنها had rallied an army - it was fit for her to lead as she was the most knowledgeable of the Messenger’s ﷺ wives. These rebels tried assassinating Aisha (رضي الله عنها) - they were caught outside her door and executed. Talha and Zubayr رضي الله عنهم made the dua: “O Allah (swt), destroy those who killed Uthmaan (رضي الله عنه)”. A battle took place between our mother Aisha’s رضي الله عنها forces and the rebels who rallied an army. They were all wiped out, except one. This silences those who claim nothing good came out of Aisha’s رضي الله عنها stance. Shortly after this battle, the battle of the camel took place. Shayateens on both sides instigated it - ultimately Talha and Zubayr رضي الله عنهم were martyred. Aisha رضي الله عنها thought due to her status

  • S16 - Hafsah bint Umar (رضي الله عنهم) - During the fitnah in Uthmaan’s رضي الله عنه khilafat, our mothers (رضي الله عنهم) went to perform Hajj

    14/05/2025 Duration: 32min

Hafsah bint Umar رضي الله عنهم (S16) During the fitnah in Uthmaan’s رضي الله عنه khilafat, our mothers (رضي الله عنهم) went to perform Hajj to leave the chaos. Our mother Umm Habeeba رضي الله عنها being from the same tribe as Uthmaan رضي الله عنه, wanted to help him. She went on her mule to supply some water, however she was stopped by the rebels - they struck her mule and it bolted. Our mother رضي الله عنها was almost killed. These rebels had the audacity to attack their mother… Aisha رضي الله عنها left Madinah to help ease the situation - she called for her brother, Muhammad رضي الله عنه to come with her, but he refused. Aisha رضي الله عنها said: “If the entire Earth was filled with these rebels, Uthmaan’s رضي الله عنه finger would be greater!”. Talha and Zubayr رضي الله عنهم met with our mothers (رضي الله عنهم) at Makkah - plans were taking place for the vengeance of Uthmaan’s assassination. Hafsah رضي الله عنها wanted to go to Busra, however her brother, Abdullah Ibn Umar رضي الله عنهم intervene

  • S15 - Hafsah bint Umar (رضي الله عنهم) - Umar al-Farooq رضي الله عنه was martyred and reunited with our beloved Messenger ﷺ and Abu Bakr رضي الله عن

    11/05/2025 Duration: 25min

Hafsah bint Umar رضي الله عنهم (S15) Hafsah رضي الله عنها heard her father رضي الله عنه making the dua: “O my Lord (swt), let me be martyred in your path, let me be martyred in the city of Your beloved (ﷺ)” - Hafsah رضي الله عنها was upset when she heard this. Umar رضي الله عنه made the dua aloud to prepare his daughter for his coming martyrdom. When Umar رضي الله عنه was severely wounded, Hafsah رضي الله عنها entered the room and said: “O companion of our Messenger ﷺ, O father in law of our Messenger ﷺ, O Ameer ul Mumineen!”. Umar رضي الله عنه, in the state he was in, still told his daughter رضي الله عنها to not praise a man for what he doesn’t deserve… Thus, Umar al-Farooq رضي الله عنه was martyred and reunited with our beloved Messenger ﷺ and Abu Bakr رضي الله عنه. Hafsah رضي الله عنها was around 42 years old. Hafsah رضي الله عنها says to Abdullah Ibn Umar رضي الله عنهم, when he struck Ibn Sayad: “May Allah (swt) have mercy on you! Did not the Messenger ﷺ say that the Dajjal will emerge due to extr

  • S14 - Hafsah bint Umar (رضي الله عنهم) - Umar رضي الله عنه fixed a 10,000 dirham stipend for our mothers (رضي الله عنهم) - except Aisha رضي الله عنها, she recieved 12,000.

    10/05/2025 Duration: 23min

Hafsah bint Umar رضي الله عنهم (S14) Umar رضي الله عنه fixed a 10,000 dirham stipend for our mothers (رضي الله عنهم) - except Aisha رضي الله عنها, she recieved 12,000. Umar رضي الله عنه said: “For she was more beloved to the Messenger ﷺ”. Umar رضي الله عنه gave 3,500 Dirhams to Usama Ibn Zayd (رضي الله عنهم) and gave 3,000 to his own son, Abdullah رضي الله عنه. Abdullah asked Umar (رضي الله عنهم) why he did this, to which Umar replied: “Zayd [i.e Ibn Haritha رضي الله عنه] was more beloved to our Messenger ﷺ than your father. Usama رضي الله عنه was more beloved to our Messenger ﷺ than you [i.e Abdullah Ibn Umar رضي الله عنهم]. I will prefer the Messenger’s ﷺ beloved over my beloved!”. Umar رضي الله عنه showcasing the peak of iman - loving our Messenger’s ﷺ family over his own. Abdullah Ibn Abaas رضي الله عنهم: “Speak often of Umar, for you will mention justice. When you mention justice, you mention Allah (s.w.t)”. Aisha (رضي الله عنها): “Beautify your gatherings with salaam upon the Messenger ﷺ, and by

  • S13 - Hafsah bint Umar (رضي الله عنهم) - Aisha رضي الله عنها was the one to give the advice to Umar رضي الله عنه, and he wept profusely.

    10/05/2025 Duration: 30min

Hafsah bint Umar رضي الله عنهم (S13) Umar رضي الله عنه saw some companions wearing white Khurasan cloth after conquering the Persians. He did not speak to them. They were confused. Abdullah Ibn Umar رضي الله عنهم elucidated: “He did so, as you wore clothing that the Messenger ﷺ nor Abu Bakr رضي الله عنه ever wore”. The companions رضي الله عنهم then changed their garments, and Umar رضي الله عنه greeted each and everyone indivually. When the spoils of war were brought to Umar, he noticed a sweet dish and took a bit. He (رضي الله عنه) said: “For this, sons will kill fathers, and brothers will kill brothers”. He then distributed it to the children of companions who were martyred in the lifetime of our Messenger ﷺ. A group amongst the companions/tabi’een stated that Umar رضي الله عنه should have a better style of clothing - as Islam had now spread globally and should delegations arrive, he should look the part, as a form of dawah. Two people were suggested to advise him; Ali and Hafsah (a.s) - both of which

  • S12 - Hafsah bint Umar (رضي الله عنهم) - Why the blessed mushaf was given to our mother, Hafsah رضي الله عنها.

    10/05/2025 Duration: 32min

Hafsah bint Umar رضي الله عنهم (S12) In Abu Bakr’s (رضي الله عنه) khilafat, the wars of apostasy took place - many hufadh were martyred so Umar رضي الله عنه suggested that a mushaf be compiled. Zayd Ibn Thaabit رضي الله عنه was given the task of this compilation. The mushaf was first with Abu Bakr, then it went to Umar, then our mother Hafsah رضي الله عنهم. She kept it for 20 years until she passed away. Why was it given to Hafsah and not Uthman (رضي الله عنهم) - as after Umar رضي الله عنه was martyred, there was 3 days before Uthman رضي الله عنه was elected as the new caliph - thus the blessed mushaf was given to our mother, Hafsah رضي الله عنها.

  • S11 - Hafsah bint Umar (رضي الله عنهم) - Witness are needed when calling for a divorce or when calling the woman back

    10/05/2025 Duration: 33min

Hafsah bint Umar رضي الله عنهم (S11) In the case of a revocable divorce; only the husband can take back the woman during the iddah (Surah 2:228) However, after the iddah, if the husband wants the woman back, he must go through the entire marriage procedure again - I.e Nikkah, Mahr etc. Witness are needed when calling for a divorce or when calling the woman back - not having any witnesses means you have left the sunnah, however the divorce is still valid. The sunnah time to call for divorce should be when the woman is not menstruating, and when the man has not been intimate with her - a mercy from Allah (s.w.t) - so as to not be rash and act on emotion. Just as our Messenger’s ﷺ love increased for Abdullah Ibn Um Mukhtoom رضي الله عنه after the Surah Abasa situation, his ﷺ love increased for Hafsah رضي الله عنها when he took her back after divorcing her. She along with Aisha رضي الله عنهم were the ones to look after our Messenger ﷺ when he was ill at the end of his life. Although Aisha and Hafsah رضي

  • S10 - Hafsah bint Umar (رضي الله عنهم) - Surah [66:10] was a reminder to our mothers (a.s) that they’ve been given tremendous honour

    10/05/2025 Duration: 25min

Hafsah bint Umar رضي الله عنهم (S10) Surah [66:10] was a reminder to our mothers (a.s) that they’ve been given tremendous honour, promised paradise, and that they’ve should be extra cautious when dealing with the Messenger ﷺ from here on. Our Messenger ﷺ: “I was preferred over Adam (a.s) with 2 gifts. Firstly, his wife (رضي الله عنها) made him go into transgression, but my wives رضي الله عنهم pushed me to obedience. His Kareen was a disbeliever, mine is Muslim”. What fruit came out of this whole incident? Allah (SWT) Himself praised Hafsah’s رضي الله عنها worship! Thus, it can be said that Allah SWT came to the aid of Hafsah رضي الله عنها. When the Messenger ﷺ took back Hafsah رضي الله عنها, Umar رضي الله عنه said to her: “If the Messenger ﷺ divorces you again, I’ll never speak to you again - so take heed”. Hafsah, and all our mothers (رضي الله عنهم) thus never troubled the Messenger ﷺ again, not even the slightest inconvenience.

  • S09 - Hafsah bint Umar (رضي الله عنهم) - The wives of Nuh and Lut (a.s) betrayed them in terms of deen. No wife of any Prophet (a.s) ever committed adultery.

    10/05/2025 Duration: 35min

Hafsah bint Umar رضي الله عنهم (S9) Allah ﷻ refers to Abu Bakr and Umar رضي الله عنهم as the ‘righteous believers’ in Surah [66:4] Surah [66:5] mentions that should our Messenger ﷺ divorce, Allah ﷻ will replace them with better women - the verse mentions ‘virgin and non virgin’ [women] - the scholars mention this refers to Maryam (رضي الله عنها) and Aasiyah (رضي الله عنها). Our Messenger ﷺ will be married to Maryam, Aasiyah and Kulthoom (Sister of Musa (a.s)) رضي الله عنهم in Jannah. The Rawafid use the egregious logic that Surah 66:10 mentions the disbelieving wives of Nuh and Lut (a.s) - and that it applies to Aisha and Hafsah (رضي الله عنهم) Our Messenger ﷺ said to Aisha رضي الله عنها: “You will be my wife in this life, and the next”. Abdullah Ibn Abaas (رضي الله عنهم) said to Aisha رضي الله عنها when she was ill: “Do not worry, you will shortly join the messenger ﷺ and Abu Bakr رضي الله عنه”. The wives of Nuh and Lut (a.s) betrayed them in terms of deen. No wife of any Prophet (a.s) ever com

  • S08 - Hafsah bint Umar (رضي الله عنهم) - A brief commentary on Surah 66.

    10/05/2025 Duration: 30min

Hafsah bint Umar رضي الله عنهم (S8) A fourth view is that the secret our Messenger ﷺ told Hafsah رضي الله عنها was that her father would be the successor of Abu Bakr رضي الله عنهم - however this view is weaker. A brief commentary on Surah 66. Verse [1] was revealed when our Messenger ﷺ prohibited for himself honey and approaching Maria رضي الله عنها. [2] was revealed, referencing another verse: Surah [2:224], also referencing Surah [5:89] - where it mentions to make up for a broken oath, one can feed 10 poor people, or clothe them, or free a bonds person, or fast for 3 days. Hasan al-Basri (r.h) stated that our Messenger ﷺ did not have to make up for his oath, as he ﷺ is already forgiven, as mentioned in surah 48:2. Another opinion is that our messenger ﷺ made up for his oath by freeing a slave. Surah Tahreem (66) silences the Quranists - Hadiths are also revelation.

  • S07 - Hafsah bint Umar (رضي الله عنهم) - A slave woman performed witchcraft on Hafsah (ra)

    10/05/2025 Duration: 31min

Hafsah bint Umar رضي الله عنهم (S7) A slave woman performed witchcraft on Hafsah رضي الله عنها, and our mother ordered her to be dealt with by the authorities. Umar رضي الله عنه: “The punishment for witchcraft is the sword”. Surah [66:3-4]: “Remember when the Prophet confided in his wife a statement and she told it to another…” An incident occurred where our Messenger ﷺ was given honey by one of his wives - and some of his other wives got possessive over this. There is a difference in opinion regarding which wives were involved, and who gave the honey. There is 3 views regarding which wives were being mentioned in this verse, and what our Messenger ﷺ prohibited for himself. 1) The wives were Aisha and Hafsah رضي الله عنهم - what the Messenger ﷺ prohibited was honey. It occurred in Zainab’s Bint Jahsh رضي الله عنها house. 2) the wives were 3; Safiyah, Sawda and Aisha رضي الله عنهم And the incident occurred in Hafsah’s رضي الله عنها house. 3) The wives were 2: Aisha and Hafsah رضي الله عنهم. Wha

  • S06 - Hafsah bint Umar (رضي الله عنهم) - Our messenger ﷺ: “My wives are my wives in this life, and in the hereafter”.

    10/05/2025 Duration: 31min

Hafsah bint Umar رضي الله عنهم (S6) Our beloved mother’s father, Umar (رضي الله عنهم) had such a status that the holy revelation confirmed his words [Surah 66:4] and his actions [Surah 4:84]. When Umar رضي الله عنه found out that sometimes our mother would argue with our messenger ﷺ, and as a result not speak for a day - he رضي الله عنه said: “You are the ones at loss!”, this made the messenger ﷺ smile. Umar رضي الله عنه said to his daughter رضي الله عنها “Do not compete with Aisha رضي الله عنها, she is more beautiful”. This again made our messenger ﷺ smile. Our beloved mothers (a.s) were given a choice, they can choose this life and be given bounties, or choose Allah ﷻ, His messenger ﷺ and The Last Day. Of course, they all chose the latter. Aisha رضي الله عنها was given the honour of being the first wife our messenger ﷺ visited after his one month isolation. Our messenger ﷺ: “My wives are my wives in this life, and in the hereafter”. (Our mothers (رضي الله عنهم) have a special honour - as is expect

  • S05 - Hafsah bint Umar (رضي الله عنهم) - Being the daughter of Umar رضي الله عنه, Hafsah رضي الله عنها was an excellent orator.

    10/05/2025 Duration: 35min

Hafsah bint Umar رضي الله عنهم (S5) Being the daughter of Umar رضي الله عنه, Hafsah رضي الله عنها was an excellent orator. Our messenger ﷺ once said: “The Badris nor the ones under the tree on the day of allegiance shall enter the fire” to which Hafsah رضي الله عنها said: “No, they will O messenger of Allah ﷻ” She quoted Surah [19:71] “There is not one of them except they will pass over it (the fire)”. The messenger ﷺ said: “does the next verse not say: ‘Then We shall save those who feared Allah ﷻ’”. Once, our mother Safiyah رضي الله عنها heard Hafsah رضي الله عنها say: “She is the daughter of a Jew” causing safiyah to weep. The messenger ﷺ comforted Safiyah by saying: “You are a prophets daughter [Haroon (a.s)], your uncle is a prophet [Musa (a.s)] and you’re married to a prophet [ﷺ]. How can she boast over you?”. The messenger ﷺ then told Hafsah رضي الله عنها to fear Allah ﷻ. These incidents are not to be seen as faults of our mothers (a.s) - they are the greatest women of this Ummah. Rather, it is t

  • S04 - Hafsah bint Umar (رضي الله عنهم) - Hafsah رضي الله عنها narrated 60 Hadith

    10/05/2025 Duration: 27min

Hafsah bint Umar رضي الله عنهم (S4) Our mother رضي الله عنها was taught how to read, write, perform ruqyah and treat ant bites by Layla رضي الله عنها, who was known as ‘as-Shifa’ رضي الله عنها. Ali (رضي الله عنه): “Teach yourself, and your families all that is good”. A common misconception is that women should be kept away from an education - the complete opposite to what the Salaf practiced. Hafsah رضي الله عنها narrated 60 Hadith, and was one of our messenger’s ﷺ most learned wives. Allah ﷻ Himself praised Hafsah رضي الله عنها for her worship: “She fasts frequently, stands for long at night, she is your wife in Paradise” She رضي الله عنها observed fasting all the way into her old age.

  • S03 - Hafsah bint Umar (رضي الله عنهم) - Our messenger ﷺ would visit our mothers (a.s) after Asr daily

    10/05/2025 Duration: 33min

Hafsah bint Umar (رضي الله عنهم) (S3) Our beloved messenger’s (ﷺ) second wife was Sawdaa رضي الله عنها. She and Khadijah (رضي الله عنهم) share the honour of being the only wives to have their marriage consummated in Makkah! When Sawdaa رضي الله عنها became old, she gave the night that the messenger ﷺ would usually visit her to Aisha رضي الله عنها - Thus Aisha رضي الله عنها had the special honour of having the greatest of creation ﷺ for 2 nights. Our messenger ﷺ would visit our mothers (a.s) after Asr daily. He ﷺ was not commanded to treat all of his wives equally, he chose to do so voluntarily - like usual setting the greatest example for the rest of humanity! Our messenger ﷺ: “Jibraaeel (a.s) just came to me and said: ‘Allah ﷻ Has given you Salaam. He ﷻ Has said that Hafsah رضي الله عنها is your wife in this life, and in the next’.”. Our messenger ﷺ said anyone in a major state of impurity cannot enter the masjid, except; The messenger ﷺ himself, his wives, Faatima and Ali (رضي الله عنهم) - such was
