Synopsis

An unofficial podcast for the long-running British soap, Coronation Street.

Episodes

  • Conversation Street Episode 549

    19/11/2022 Duration: 03h58s

On our latest podcast, we chat about the episodes of Coronation Street shown in the UK between the 14th and the 18th November 2022 (Episodes #10795 - 10800) - well... we do as soon as we finish reeling from the news that Millie Gibson is going to be playing The Doctor's new companion in the new series of Doctor Who, anyway! Once we finally get onto the topic of the latest goings on in Weatherfield, we kick things off, of course, with the extremism story, which continued to have us gripped this week. With Max seemingly in denial about just what sort of people he's getting involved with, Roy's epic takedown of Griff at his community centre speech and Spider's continuing lies to Toyah about his double life, there was certainly a lot to talk about there! Also this week, Debbie plans to sell the Bistro, Stu and Yasmeen finally admit their feelings for one another, and Bernie's somewhat silly, but in our opinion very entertaining, doppelgänger story reaches its epic Fern-ale. Next up on the podcast, it's The Kabin,

  • Listener Questions

    15/11/2022 Duration: 01h15min

In this week's bonus podcast, we tackle two more questions from our inquisitive listeners. First up, we ponder what Corrie SHOULD do, what they should STOP doing, and what they should NEVER do - take note, Iain Macleod! (Of course, our lack of knowledge of anything when it comes to soap budgets and filming schedules means that many of our ideas are probably a little on the ambitious side, but that certainly didn't stop us listing our numerous suggestions for improvement!) After that, with the news that the next Eurovision Song Contest will be taking place here in the UK next year, we pondered which characters from Coronation Street would make the best hosts - and who should be delivering that sarcastic commentary as the ceremony unfolds!

  • Conversation Street Episode 548

    12/11/2022 Duration: 02h59min

On our latest podcast, we chat about the goings on in Weatherfield between the 7th and the 11th November (Episodes #10789 - 10794). This week, Fiz and Ty do their best to stop the John Stape book getting published, but when Tyrone slaps the author at an event at Chariot Square, has he ended up making things worse? Also this week, Amy and Summer fly the nest, Bernie thinks she's found a way to track down Fern when she bumps into her ex at a spa, and Lauren gets inside Max's head - and his bed! In The Kabin, we take a look at how Sue Cleaver's been doing in her first week in the jungle and find out what the Corrie set tour has in store for its Christmas festivities. We round off the show with more of your listener feedback, including a great selection of your unpopular Corrie opinions! Street Talk - 00:12:54 The Kabin - 02:26:32 Feedback - 02:42:06

  • Linda Baldwin Character Profile

    10/11/2022 Duration: 01h12min

For this week's bonus podcast, we chat about the character of Linda Baldwin, the notorious man-eater who certainly gave husband Mike a run for his money in the late 90s and early 00s. Linda's most famous for the controversial story that saw her pursuing the ageing factory boss whilst also bedding his young son Mark, but as we also discuss in the episode, actress Jacqueline Chadwick hit the headlines herself once or twice during her time on the show too!

  • Conversation Street Episode #547

    05/11/2022 Duration: 02h55min

Episode #547 of Conversation Street is here, and this week, we chat about what went on in Weatherfield between the 31st October and the 4th November (Episodes #10783 - 10788). The Halloween festivities in the first of this week's visits to the cobbles definitely helped lend an autumnal air to Coronation Street, but if you think that means the end of Summer, you'd be sadly mistaken - at least where the character is concerned, that is. Yes, Miss Spellman remained very much in the spotlight this week as she decided she'd rather have ten grand than a termination - but will she be able to keep her bulging belly a secret from Billy? Meanwhile, Max gets drawn into the shady world of far-right Halloween parties (kind of like normal ones but with more people dressed up as crusaders), Fiz and Tyrone discover who's been leaking their family secrets, and Sean makes a shocking discovery about Lawrence's past.. Up next on the podcast, it's time for The Kabin, where take a look at Sue Cleaver's motivations for signing up to

  • Charlotte Jordan Interview (Daisy Midgeley)

    31/10/2022 Duration: 33min

Daisy Midgley has been minxing it up on the Street for nearly two years now, causing friction between Jenny and Johnny and being the catalyst behind the break up of Ryan and Alya, before finally setting her sights on Daniel Osbourne. Here, actress Charlotte Jordan joins us to chat about what it's like to play a character whose main purpose at one time seemed to be to rub both viewers and fellow Street residents up the wrong way, whether she sees a future for Daisy and Daniel, and about the fun she has working alongside Sally Ann Matthews in the Rovers.

  • Conversation Street Episode #546

    29/10/2022 Duration: 02h43min

On out latest podcast, we chat about all things Corrie between the 24th and the 28th October (Episodes #10777 - 10782). This week, Stephen continues to bumble from one disaster to another, desperately trying to cover his tracks after binning off Leo last month. At least with Gabrielle now heading back home (and surely we weren't the only ones surprised that she's made it out of this alive?), his nefarious dealings with Audrey's equity should be easier to keep a secret - but for how long? Also this week, things take an unexpected twist in the Spider story when it turns out that Griff's interests are a lot more sinister than anyone had expected. Meanwhile, Daniel and Daisy move into Number 1, Fiz gets a shock when she's asked to do an interview about John, and Eileen gets a whiff of heaven - and it smells like vanilla slice.  For one reason or another, it was half two in the morning by the time we'd finished recording Street Talk, so we hope you'll forgive us for ending the podcast there this week - but do keep

  • Halloween Special: The Curse of Number 6

    27/10/2022 Duration: 25min

Turn out the lights and lock the doors, for we have a fearsome tale for you this week, dear listener - a tale of misery, mystery... and murder. Although some may say that all residents of Coronation Street have suffered in some form or another during their time on the cobbles, it is perhaps those who dwell under the roof of Number 6 whose lives have been most cursed. Is it just a coincidence, or are there more malevolent forces at work? Listen carefully to these tales of woe, and decide for yourself...

  • Conversation Street Episode 545

    22/10/2022 Duration: 03h09min

On our latest podcast, we chat about the episodes of Corrie shown in the UK between the 17th and the 21st October in the UK (Episodes #10771 - 10776) This week's Street Talk starts off with something a bit different as we discuss a scene we saw filmed back in August starring Dee-Dee and the Platts that never ended up being broadcast. How's THAT for behind the scenes goss? After that, we return to our usual discussion of the week's episodes, and we're not exactly the biggest Summer and Aaron fans, but if you are, good news! This week, Weatherfield's drippiest couple are back on again after Summer discovers she's up the duff. Fortunately for us, we pretty much enjoyed everything else that went on this week, including the return of Harvey as Leanne visits him in jail, the continuation of the bonkers but brilliant adventures of Bernie and Fern, and the return of Stephen to our screens after a few weeks off. With Gabrielle demanding her money and Jenny and Teddy starting to worry about what's happened to Leo, sure

  • James Bailey Character Profile

    18/10/2022 Duration: 01h07min

He was the first Bailey to make an appearance on the cobbles back in 2019, and now, just over three years later, he's become the first to leave. His time on the Street has seen him involved in stories that got viewers thinking about racism and homophobia, but was James ever anything more than just an 'issues' character?  Decide for yourself as we run down all his most memorable moments in this character profile.

  • Conversation Street Episode 544

    15/10/2022 Duration: 03h03min

On our latest podcast, we chat about the goings on in Weatherfield between the 10th and the 14th October (Episodes #10765 - 10770) We've been speculating for months now about who framed Stu for Charlie's murder, and this week, we finally got to hear the full truth from Bridget, when she confesses to being the one who sent her to meet her maker. Or IS that the full story? We're still not so sure... Meanwhile, David takes extreme measures when he suspects it's Max who's been trolling Maria - but is someone trying to fit him up too? Also this week, Sally finds out about Tim and Aggie's illicit bench chats, Leanne panics when she receives a request to visit Harvey in prison, and Tracy cooks up a plan to get rid of Wendy. There's plenty to chat about in The Kabin this week, including some great news for Paddy Bever, who picked up the Rising Star award at the NTAs. We round things off with more of your listener feedback. Street Talk - 00:11:46 The Kabin - 02:13:04 Feedback - 02:37:45

  • Kelly Neelan Character Profile

    11/10/2022 Duration: 01h13min

This week's bonus podcast is a character profile of that naughty scallywag Kelly Neelan, who departed the show recently after some high drama atop a Manchester mill. Kelly may have only been in the show just over three years (and a main character for about half of that!) but she certainly managed to pack a lot into that time. In this episode, we run down her whole story, share our thoughts on her most memorable moments and what made her such a complex character, and ponder whether or not we've even seen the last of her on Corrie.

  • Conversation Street Episode #543

    06/10/2022 Duration: 02h14min

With the latest batch of Coronation Street being over by Wednesday evening this week, we're coming at you early, with a podcast covering the episodes shown in the UK between the 3rd and the 5th October (Episodes #10759 - 10764) This week saw a few more clues emerge in the story of Stu's wrongful imprisonment, and Alya's on the case - even when nobody actually wants her to be! Can she and Dee-Dee get to the bottom of who really killed Charlie? Let's hope someone does soon... Also this week, Summer goes wild with some weed, Ken and Wendy confess their feelings for each other, and it's bye bye Bailey as the first member of the clan bows out to start a new life as a football coach. We're sure he'll be just as missed as Leo. Up next on the podcast, it's the Kabin, and as well as the news of which Corrie favourite will be strapping on the skates in the next series of Dancing on Ice, we give our first impressions of the soon to be released Corrie Puzzle Book! We round off the show with more of your listener feedback

  • Millie Gibson Interview

    03/10/2022 Duration: 32min

For this week's bonus podcast, we're joined for a chat by the wonderful Millie Gibson, best known for playing reformed scallywag Kelly Neelan and who recently said ta-ra to the cobbles after four years in the role. We chat about her exit story, those intense rooftop scenes in her final episode, her relationship with the rest of the cast and much more!

  • Conversation Street Episode #542

    01/10/2022 Duration: 02h51min

On our latest podcast, we chat about the episodes of Corrie shown in the UK between the 26th and the 30th September 2022 (Episodes #10753 - 10758). We'd been looking forward to Monday's episode ever since we got the chance to go to the studios and see some scenes filmed back in August, and it certainly didn't disappoint! Having been stood mere metres away from actor Todd Boyce as he was dragging Leo's lifeless body across the cobbles of Brewery Lane, we knew that we were in for an exciting week, but even we weren't prepared for just how tense some of those scenes would be as the enormity of what Stephen has done dawns on him... The big question is though, will he kill again, and who could his potential victims be..? Also this week, the much anticipated Dee-Dee Bailey makes her debut after years of speculation from us on the podcast about what she'd be like - did she live up to expectations? All that, plus the fallout from last week's rooftop drama, Evelyn's shift at the charity shop and a great twist in Stu's

  • Behind The Scenes Secrets From This Week’s Corrie!

    28/09/2022 Duration: 01h04min

Back in August, we had the privilege of going behind the scenes of Coronation Street to see some scenes from recent episodes being filmed, including the goings on in Gary and Maria's flat following Kelly's departure and the moment when Stephen dragged poor Leo's body from the bin into his van. We actually recorded most of this podcast back in August, and it comes in two parts: first, something we recorded before we went into the studios, where we gave our predictions for what we would see based on rumours we'd heard. After that, our recount of what we experienced while we were behind the scenes, including bloopers, how scenes changed during rehearsals and our reactions to that shock death!

  • Conversation Street Episode #541

    24/09/2022 Duration: 02h35min

On our latest podcast, we chat about the episodes of Coronation Street shown in the UK between the 20th and the 23rd September (Episodes #10747 - 10752). Super Soap Week came a little earlier than usual to Weatherfield this year, and just how super was it? Well if you ask us, Corrie absolutely smashed it this time round, with all three main stories keeping us gripped all week. Top billing, of course, went to Kelly's exit story, which as well as featuring the surprise return of Rick Neelan from beyond the grave, also made use of the much hyped volume wall for some nighttime shots of the Manchester cityscape. But did the use of Hollywood technology actually live up to the hype? Also this week, Stephen's dastardly plans to have 5 Grasmere Drive sold fall through whilst Leo finds out about Jenny's Canadian canoodling a few weeks ago, and Roy and Evelyn go on a quest to retrieve Hayley's famous red coat in a C-story that ticked all the right boxes when it came to comedy, nostalgia and just great character stuff be

  • Georgia Taylor Interview

    22/09/2022 Duration: 33min

For this week's bonus podcast, we're joined by our good pal Georgia Taylor to chat about all things Toyah in the wake of last week's gripping courtroom scenes. She may have been found not guilty by the jury, but does Georgia agree with the court's decision, and what effects might Imran's death have on the character going forwards? We chat about all this, the return of Spider and Georgia's reflections on her stint as Rovers landlady. Enjoy!

  • Conversation Street Episode #540

    19/09/2022 Duration: 02h22min

In our latest podcast, we chat about the episodes of Corrie that were shown in the UK between the 14th and the 18th September 2022 (Episodes #10741 - 10746). It was a tough few days for our Toyah this week, with the grieving Widow Habeeb up in court for Imran's murder. Still, it could have been worse as it did at least appear to be one of the shortest court cases in Corrie history, due in part to the fact that there was clearly only extremely flimsy evidence pointing to the fact that she'd plotted to kill her husband. The biggest surprise of us, to be honest, was the lack of revelations about the moments before she drove into the wall, and the implication that yes, she did intend to kill him... but now she's walking free? We'll be watching with interest where this one goes next... Also this week, Glenda gets a job behind the Rovers bar as Jenny prepares for her new life in Canada, James gets some bad news about his contract with Weathy County when his manager comes to visit, and Kelly finally discovers the tr

  • Martin Hancock Interview

    17/09/2022 Duration: 36min

Earlier this year, after nineteen years away from Coronation Street, Spider Nugent web-slung his way back onto the cobbles as part of his first love Toyah's ongoing storyline. In our latest bonus podcast, we're joined by the actor behind the arachnid, Martin Hancock, who chats to us about returning to the Street after so long away, what's changed for Spider in the intervening years and the shocking revelations that, not only is he claiming to be married, but he's also working for The Man as an undercover cop! For a video version of the interview (including some bonus appearances by a couple of Martin's pets!) head over to our YouTube channel at https://youtu.be/j_O8PfKBUO0 .
