  • Conversation Street Episode 571

    15/04/2023 Duration: 03h16min

On our latest podcast, we chat about what went down in week spanning the 10th to the 14th April (Episodes #10924 - 10929), and we're not just talking about Sarah's knickers. Yes, that naughty little strumpet has dropped her drawers for Damon, and it didn't take much persuasion, did it? And with her also enjoying a late night bonkathon with Adam on Wednesday evening, could we be seeing a 'Who's The Daddy?' story on the horizon..? Meanwhile, Rufus is left swimming with the fishes after pushing Stephen too far - though we have a feeling the finger will be pointed squarely at Michael for this one! Also this week, Roy loses one bat-mad buddy but gains a new furry friend, Carla visits Ryan at the hospital and George is a money lender to Glenda. In the Kabin segment of the podcast, we take a look at the longlist for the viewer voted categories in the British Soap Awards and with up Corrie's chances, and we finish things off with more of your fabulous feedback. • Conversation Street Episode 570

    08/04/2023 Duration: 03h39min

On this podcast, we chat about the episodes of Corrie showing in the UK between the 3rd and the 7th April (Episodes #10918 - 10923). This week, Paul is given the devastating news that his symptoms may be signs of motor neurone disease. That's right, it's time for another tragic Corrie illness storyline! We're sure Peter Ash will do an amazing job with it - and he certainly gave a heart wrenching performance this week - but is this kind of thing really what viewers are wanting to watch right now? Meanwhile, from one sad story to another, the news spreads that Amy is saying she was raped by Aaron. Very interesting to see which characters take which side here.. though we're definitely a bit surprised that some viewers are picking Team Aaron, too..! Also this week, an old friend of Glenda's arrives on the cobbles, Craig is worried about Faye and Jackson's developing friendship, and Damon claims he's turning over a new leaf - but do we believe him? Up next it's time for The Kabin, where we rate Corrie's April Fool

  • Summer Spellman Character Profile

    04/04/2023 Duration: 01h37min

For our bonus podcast this week, we take a look at the character of Oxford hopeful and serial fainter Summer Spellman. Now eagle-eyed viewers might have noticed this young lady appearing a fair bit on our screen over the past twelve months or so, but it's not always been like this! In fact, it wasn't so long ago that years could go by with Summer barely making an appearance on the cobbles... so what happened? In this episode, we take a look at the highs (cannabis brownies) and lows (face planting on Billy's carpet again) of Corrie's current tragedy magnet, and ponder what the future might have in store for her.

  • Conversation Street Episode 569

    01/04/2023 Duration: 03h40min

On our latest podcast, we chat about the episodes of Corrie shown in the UK between the 27th and the 31st March 2023 (Episodes #10912 - 10917). Christina wasn't wrong when she said that wedding was cursed, was she? In a twist that frankly makes Mavis and Derek's double jilting look like nothing more than a minor hiccup, Justin returned to the cobbles on Monday night, intent on dousing Daisy in acid - but it's poor Ryan that ends up with a faceful of the stuff. Superb performances all round and a brilliant script from Ian Kershaw certainly made Monday's harrowing trip to Weatherfield one we won't be forgetting in a hurry! And to be honest, a lot of the rest of the week was similarly bleak too, especially the Amy storyline, as she opens up about the rape to her family and the police - who, in typical Weatherfield fashion, are able to do very little to keep Aaron of the streets. Meanwhile, Brian finds out he's 8% Italian (and 92% Buffoon?), Michael inadvertently throws a spanner in the works for Stephen at the f

  • The Changing Sets Of The Rovers Return

    30/03/2023 Duration: 01h34min

In this episode, we take a look at the Rovers Return, and how the nation's most iconic pub has changed over the years. From the wobbly wooden frontage of the 60s to the double upstairs windowed modern incarnation, the Rovers has come a long way in the past 60 years, inside and out. The bar, the back room, the cellar… even the toilets!

  • Conversation Street Episode 568

    25/03/2023 Duration: 02h51min

On our latest podcast, we chat about what went on in Corrie between the 20th and the 24th March (Episodes #10906 - 10911). All in all, we thought this was a great week on Corrie, with very little in the way of filler or stories that didn't hold our interest. From the hilarious contrast between Daniel's stag and Daisy's hen-do to the sizzling chemistry between Sarah and Damon, we were pretty much glued to our screens all week. But of course, it was Evelyn saying her last goodbye to loyal hound Cerberus that really got us in the feels - losing a beloved pet is an experience so many of us have been though, and Maureen Lipman's performance was pitched perfectly. Also this week, Aaron moves in with Abi, Paul gets some worrying medical news, and Stephen's killer hole punch returns! Up next on the podcast, it's the Kabin, where we carefully make our way through the minefield of spoilers that Corrie and other media sources been trumpeting this week to give you a few bits of other news, including Corrie's BAFTA nomina

  • Eve Elliott Character Profile

    21/03/2023 Duration: 54min

In this week's bonus podcast, we chat about the character of Eve Elliott, second wife of beloved butcher Fred, who ruled the roost at the Rovers for a short period in early 2002 before being unveiled as a bigamist. Definitely not one of Corrie's most memorable characters, but after just having rewatched her entire tenure on the ITV3 repeats, Michael's found a newfound appreciation of Eve, so we thought it was time to give her some credit and dedicate an episode just to her!

  • Conversation Street Episode 567

    18/03/2023 Duration: 02h45min

On our latest podcast, we have a natter about the episodes of Corrie shown in the UK between the 13th and the 17th March (Episodes #10900 - 10905). This week, Daisy goads Justin into getting rough with her within Craig's line of sight - at last, enough evidence for him to get arrested! We don't think it's time for Daisy to breathe a sigh of relief quite yet, though... Meanwhile, Stephen's campaign of making Carla think her psychosis has returned finally pays off, and by the end of the week, there's a new Lord of the Underworld. What will he do with his new position of power? Only time will tell, but we definitely reckon Rufus should be watching his back... Also this week, smiley Miley bursts onto our screens and Faye's torn about how close she should get to her, Beth's meet-up with Marco makes us think she's a lot more suited to him than Kirk, and Damon's back on the scene to settle an unresolved score with Nick.. Next up in the podcast it's The Kabin, and Gemma's unsurprisingly excited to hear about Simon Gr

  • Corrie On Strike!

    15/03/2023 Duration: 01h42min

For this week's bonus podcast, we take a look at the times when Coronation Street has been affected by industrial action. Back in the 60s and 70s, striking actors and technicians caused some pretty significant disruption to the production of Corrie, and viewers were faced with not seeing their favourite characters for extended periods, having to return to watching episodes in black and white and even, in one case, going months with no Coronation Street at all! In addition to discussing real life examples of striking affecting Corrie, we also take a look at the times when characters themselves have taken to the picket lines to protest the actions of their tyrannical bosses (usually Mike Baldwin, to be fair!) and ponder whether we'd like to see more of this kind of story on the show.

  • Conversation Street Episode 566

    11/03/2023 Duration: 02h42min

In this week's podcast, we discuss the episodes of Corrie shown between the 6th and the 10th March in the UK (Episodes #10894 - 10899). This week on Corrie, Amy's shocked to discover exactly what happened between her and Aaron after she passed out on Friday night, and while he's keen for the whole matter to be forgotten, Amy feels understandably violated. Although this storyline didn't get quite as much screen time as we'd expected this week, big props to everyone involved so far! Also this week, Justin gets too close for comfort for Daisy when he lets himself into Number 1 through the back door - but is this enough for the law to listen? Meanwhile, the truth about Beth slapping Hope leads to strife between the Sutherlands, and Tim's thrilled when Jackson shows up at the door with news of Miley - though Faye isn't quite so happy about his return... Not a whole lot of news this week, so we decided to give the Kabin segment a miss; instead, we just skip to the feedback section after Street Talk for more of your

  • A.I. Writes About Coronation Street

    07/03/2023 Duration: 01h38min

This week's bonus podcast is a special episode based around Chat GPT, the latest artificial intelligence chat bot developed by OpenAI. Streamed live on YouTube and including suggestions taken from viewers live on air, we tested out its knowledge of all things Corrie, asking it to write scripts, articles, poems and more about our favourite soap!

  • Conversation Street Episode 565

    04/03/2023 Duration: 03h13min

On our latest podcast, we take a look at what went on in Weatherfield between the 27th February and the 3rd March 2022 (Episodes #10888 - 10893) Every so often, you'll get an episode of Corrie that you'll sit in front of thinking, 'What on earth am I watching?' That was us - and presumably countless other viewers! - on Thursday night as we saw the effects of Stephen accidentally taking a massive dose of LSD that was meant for Carla. Now whether or not you actually liked those scenes is another matter entirely - but we have to say we thoroughly enjoyed the spectacle, despite it admittedly not exactly being 'Classic Corrie'! This week also saw the start of the consent story, with Aaron taking advantage of a passed out Amy after a night of drunken revelry. Uncomfortable viewing for sure, and we're certainly intrigued to see the after effects next week. Up next on the podcast, there's a quick trip to The Kabin, where we find out about Kym Marsh's next project (sorry, slow news week!) before finishing off with mor

  • Michael Condron Interview

    02/03/2023 Duration: 01h17min

Joining us in this episode for a nice, long chat is actor Michael Condron, who played Griff on Coronation Street. Michael talks about getting into acting, what it was like to play such a sinister villain as Griff and what it meant for him to be part of such iconic shows as Corrie and Game of Thrones.

  • Conversation Street Episode 564

    25/02/2023 Duration: 03h10min

On our latest podcast, we chat about the episodes of Corrie shown in the UK between the 20th and the 24th February (Episodes #10882 - 10887). Well what a turnaround that was! After last week's kinda dull offering, we really thought that Corrie was firing on all cylinders this week - and who'd have guessed that Alya of all characters would be the one to do it? From the brilliantly written scenes where she visits Max in prison to the heart-wrenching reading of her victim personal statement, we were totally gripped by the climax of the far right story this week, and for it to also include Shona's return, some lovey character moments between David and Maria and Spider triumphing over Griff made it all the better. Just a shame that Blake's sentencing and Councillor Cameron's comeuppance were rushed through! Also this week, more creepy weirdo stalker stuff from Justin, Stephen sets his sights on taking ownership of the factory, and a reunion for Billy and Paul. There are a few little bits and bobs for us to cover i

  • Shona Platt Character Profile

    23/02/2023 Duration: 01h30min

This week's bonus podcast is a love letter to one of our favourite new additions to the Street in recent years, Shona Platt. Brought to life by self-confessed Corrie nut Julia Goulding, Shona has kept us glued to our screens since her debut at the end of 2016, whether we're watching the trials and tribulations of her difficult relationship with estranged son Clayton or her comedic antics alongside husband David. How does she stand up against David's first wife Kylie, do we prefer pre-shot-in-a-box or post-shot-in-a-box Shona, and what do we see in the future for Weatherfield's best barmcake butterer? Tune in to find out!

  • Conversation Street Episode 563

    18/02/2023 Duration: 02h13min

On our latest podcast, we chat about the episodes of Corrie shown in the UK between the 13th and the 17th February (Episodes #10876 - 10881). We're sorry to say that this was another one of those weeks that didn't do a whole lot for us, unfortunately, and we didn't end up having a whole lot to say about this week's goings on in Weatherfield. There was a definite case of 'seen it all before' with some of the stories - the return of the Billy, Paul and Todd love triangle, hospital scenes aplenty, prison bullies, Alya being a trooper, characters cringing as Brian tries to be trendy.. heck, this is even the third motorbike related mishap we've had in the past twelve months! Did the Hashim story need dredging up again? Did the conclusion of Peter's bartering saga need to be brought to an end in such a quick and convenient fashion? Is the odd catty line here and there the best we're going to get out of Debbie from now on? Hmm.. let's hope things pick up again soon! After Street Talk, it's time for The Kabin, where

  • Behind The Scenes: Weatherfield Precinct, Roy’s And More!

    15/02/2023 Duration: 47min

For this February half term (and a bit of a Valentine's Day treat to each other!), we decided to take another trip up to Manchester, where we were lucky enough to be invited on a little behind the scenes tour of Coronation Street. Not only did we get the chance to explore the newly opened Weatherfield Precinct, but we also got the chance to have a look around Carla and Peter's new flat, Roy's Rolls and Underworld!  We've also made a video version of this podcast, with loads of footage from our trip away, which you can find over on our YouTube channel. Definitely recommended for the full experience!

  • Conversation Street Episode 562

    11/02/2023 Duration: 02h44min

On our latest podcast, we chat about what went on in Weatherfield between the 6th and the 10th February (Episodes #10870 - 10875) Sam and Ryan's lives are on the line this week when two masked gunmen burst into the Bistro, looking for Damon's drugs delivery. Sounds pretty exciting, right? Unfortunately, after the recent bombings, stabbings and deadly hole puncherings that have taken place on the show, there's only so much that something like this can really excite us - but we did at least enjoy the aftermath on Wednesday. Also this week, Sarah and Michael's business idea looks like it's set to take off, but when Carla finds out about them using the factory behind her back, she makes sure it stays well and truly grounded. Meanwhile, Bernie shows off her golf skills, Nina's worried about Roy's phone addiction, and Peter's bartering adventures continue. Up next in The Kabin, there's a few bits of news related to some ex-Corrie cast members along with the intriguing sounding announcement of a comedy night that's

  • Ryan Connor Character Profile Revisit

    08/02/2023 Duration: 01h22min

For our bonus podcast this week, we chat about the character of Ryan Connor. It's been over ten years since we last profiled him on Conversation Street (way back in Episode #10!), so we thought it was about time we caught up with what everyone's favourite Weatherfield DJ (sorry, Geoff..) has been up to since. He may not exactly be one of the most commonly seen characters on the cobbles right now, but he's certainly given us a good few laughs over the past five years - Ryan Prescott's incarnation has completely revitalised the character, as far as we're concerned, and we really hope Corrie has some good ideas for him up its sleeves in the future. And if they don't, well we've certainly got a few they can borrow!

  • Conversation Street Episode 561

    04/02/2023 Duration: 03h08min

On our latest podcast, we chat about the episodes of Coronation Street shown in the UK between the 30th January and the 3rd February (Episodes #10864 - 10869). A couple of unexpected twists this week: first, Max's plea of guilty at his hearing puts the character in a particularly precarious position - is he actually going to be sentenced to a hefty stretch in the big house, or will the judge be lenient? And the second surprise involved Beth and Hope - Beth's been a pretty obnoxious individual for quite a while now, but there can't have been many viewers who would have predicted she actually did slap that little madam on Wednesday night! Seems like this may well turn into a case of the girl who cried wolf for young Miss Stape (or is she Dobbs now..?). Also this week, Justin's obsessive behaviour gets even more extreme, Gemma comes up with a plan for a wedding on a budget, and Leanne learns the truth about Damon's involvement in the Bistro. Up next in the podcast, it's The Kabin, where we share the news of the
