We Chat Lloyd Mullaney With Shipwrecked & Comatose Podcast
15/08/2024 Duration: 01h03minFor this special episode, we team up with Mark from the Shipwrecked & Comatose podcast to chat all things Lloyd Mullaney, who of course was played by Red Dwarf star Craig Charles. With Mark never having watched an episode of Corrie before save for a handful of famous Lloyd clips, it was a lot of fun chatting about the character and how he was similar to - and different from - Dave Lister. Our discussion also covers some of Lloyd's biggest moments, the issues raised by stories such as Paul Kershaw's racist remarks, and what Mark found most surprising about his first experience watching our favourite soap. If you're a fan of Red Dwarf, you can listen to Shipwrecked & Comatose at the link below: https://pod.link/1514570118

Conversation Street Episode 640
10/08/2024 Duration: 03h36sOn our latest episode of the podcast, we chat about what went on in Weatherfield between the 5th and the 9th August (Episodes #11,329 - 11,334). It'd been a long time coming, but this week, Alina popped back to Weatherfield to give evidence against her traffickers in court - and to the surprise of absolutely nobody watching, she didn't come alone...! And if this revelation isn't enough to rock the foundations of No. 9 on its own, Hope causes a bit of a furore this week too after coming back from the medical centre with a box of condoms - if only Tyrone and Joel had taken the same precautions, eh? Also this week, Sean's fuming to find Mason working at Speed Daal, Beth gets caught with her counterfeit goods and Amy's back from the retreat - but has she been brainwashed enough to hand over her inheritance to the Institute? In the Kabin segment of the podcast, we take a look at the newly released synopsis of Maggie Sullivan's next Coronation Street novel, and we finish off the show with more of your feedback! Str

Dr Gaddas: A Decade of Badassery
07/08/2024 Duration: 01h17minThis week marks ten years since Dr Gaddas first graced the cobbles of Weatherfield with her fabulous presence, and to mark the occasion, we chat about the impact she's had over the decade. Why is she such a fan favourite despite making only a handful of appearances each year? Would we like to see her become a regular in the vein of DS Swain? And which Corrie characters have got Gaddas to thank for still being in the land of the living? All this, plus a look at some of the other projects that actress Christine Mackie has got up to over the years - and she's certainly been keeping herself busy! If, like us, you're a fan of the good doctor, this episode is for you!

Conversation Street Episode 639
02/08/2024 Duration: 02h52minOn our latest episode of the podcast, we chat about the episodes of Corrie shown between the 29th July and the 2nd August (Episodes #11,323 - 11,327). Not gonna lie, this was definitely a bit of a 'meh' week for us this week, despite some clearly dramatic things going down on the cobbles. From Lauren's early labour to the whodunnit surrounding the fire at Stefan's office, it was all very exciting on paper... but yeah, we just weren't really feeling it. Did that stop us having a right old laugh discussing everything that was going on, though? Of course not! And we DID get to see more of the marvellous Debbie Webster, plus we were definitely satisfied with the ongoing developments in Paul's story too! And will Alina be popping back onto the Street soon... maybe with a tiny Tyrone in tow..? Guess we'll just have to wait and see! Very little in the way of news again this week, so we give the Kabin a miss again, but we did of course get a bundle of feedback about last week's fantastic Paul and Billy special, so we

Corrieliminator Round 4
01/08/2024 Duration: 01h38minWe're back for the fourth round of Corrieliminator, the game where we pit 30 randomly selected Coronation Street characters against each other and rank them, with only the top three making it through to the final round. This month, we've got some pretty big names like Hilda Ogden and Bet Lynch going head to head, and it's battle of the battleaxes as Ena Sharples, Evelyn Plummer and Ivy Tilsely are all thrown into the mix! Make sure you have your say in the listener vote this round by heading over to https://forms.gle/BdrmeRoekKwFvFTn6 and picking your top three characters! Also available as a video, where you can track which characters we're ranking where, at https://youtu.be/P2wuRRKC6Fs .

Conversation Street Episode 638
27/07/2024 Duration: 03h20minOn our latest podcast, we chat about the episodes of Corrie shown in the UK between the 22nd and the 26th July (Episodes #11,317 - 11,322). This week on Coronation Street saw another special episode dedicated to Paul and Billy's storyline, and what an episode it was! Masterful performances from the two leads, and a heartbreaking script that had us on the edge of our seats as that clock ticked towards midnight... and just to keep you guys in suspense (and also to facilitate an earlier recording session for us, to be honest!), we actually left this story until last to discuss this week. Still plenty to digest from the other stories as well though, including Toyah's devastating diagnosis, Stu taking pity on Mason and Kevin and Abi's hilarious evening out at the hotel to try out Debbie's new tasting menu! And speaking of which, wasn't Debbie fantastic on Wednesday's episode? Much more of this, Corrie, please! Not a whole lot in the way of Corrie news this week, and with the podcast already running long, we decide

Tramspotting
23/07/2024 Duration: 34minAs well as going to the red carpet for the Radio Times Soap Awards, we also got the time to spend some of our recent trip to Manchester doing another handful of Corrie related activities! From staying in the hotel that once welcomed the likes of Stephen Reid, Mike Baldwin and Tracy Barlow to visiting the shop where Gemma Winter-Brown nicked a pair of shoes from, we visit some more Corrie filming locations, and even track down the elusive Coronation Street tram! Conversation Street Episode 637
20/07/2024 Duration: 03h15minOn our latest podcast, chat about about the episodes of Corrie shown in the UK between the 15th and the 19th July (Episodes #11,311 - 11,316). WitH Lauren now confirmed as definitely not dead, it doesn't take long for the word to spread on the Street. Can Joel silence her before she blabs about why she's really been in hiding all this time? Lauren's not the only plucky young blonde causing bother this week either, as Betsy, not content with just blackmailing Joel, manages to get both Carla and Beth wrapped round her little finger too. Also this week, Amy signs up to the Institute, Mason's released from prison and Kit digs for dirt on Craig. There's been a fair bit of Corrie news this week, which means a bumper edition of The Kabin, which sees us discussing stories such as the Inside Soap Awards nominations, ITV's new eBay marketplace for old costumes and props, and the reveal of Victoria Street's new Sainsbury's. We round off the show with your feedback on last week's Lauren and Joel two-hander! Street Talk -

Our Night At The Radio Times Soap Awards 2024
17/07/2024 Duration: 01h06minWith the British Soap Awards on hiatus for 2024, the Radio Times stepped into the breach to put on a star studded show at the Midland Hotel in Manchester, and of course, we were there to snap the Corrie cast as they arrived! In this podcast, we chat about what it was like to get up close and personal to the stars on the red carpet and share a bunch of stories from the evening. Conversation Street Episode 636
14/07/2024 Duration: 02h20minOn this week's podcast, we chat about the episodes of Corrie shown on the 8th and the 9th July (Episodes #11,307 - 11,310) It's been an incredibly busy week for us - Michael's not even been home all week and we've been in Manchester for the Radio Times Soap Awards since Friday night, so this episode of the podcast has been a bit cobbled together - typical then, that the action in this week's Coronation Street has been so discussion worthy! We've seen praise heaped upon Tuesday night's semi two-hander between Joel and Lauren, but it's also raised more than a few questions amongst viewers too, so what did we think of it? This episode is a Street Talk only podcast - no quiz, news or feedback this week as we've had next to no time to record anything, but hopefully you'll enjoy listening to it just as much as we did recording and chatting about the unfolding drama!

Conversation Street Episode 635
06/07/2024 Duration: 03h52sOn our latest podcast, we chat about the episodes of Coronation Street that were shown between the 1st and the 5th July 2024 (Episodes #11,301 - 11,306). Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear... We thought that putting Nick and Toyah together as part of what up to that point had been a really engaging cult story was a bad move, but it turns out that was nothing compared to what Corrie had up its sleeves for poor Toyah this week. Seriously, why does everything have to get so depressing? Definitely not fans of this week's developments! At least there were moments of levity in some of the other stories. Shona wagging off work in an attempt draw Roy out from his self-imposed prison was great fun, and we loved Steve, Cassie and Tim's capers with Tommy Orpington's bust too. (Heh heh... "Bust") And at least it seems like the Shuttleworths at war story is over for now too and the pair can go back to being nice to each other again. Every cloud, eh? Not a whole lot in the way of Corrie news this week, but we do have a bit of a cha

2024: Our Reflections On The Year So Far
02/07/2024 Duration: 01h38minWe've reached the start of July, so it's time to discuss our thoughts on 2024 so far! We didn't seem to get too far into the year before the knives really started coming out for Corrie in the press, and the show's been having to try and deflect a lot of criticism aimed at it since, but how much of it is really justified? In this episode, we chat about our favourite and least favourite stories of the year, ponder which characters have come out of the first six months of the year best, and discuss the behind the scenes shakeups including a new producer, and what this could mean for Corrie as it moves into the second half of the year.

Conversation Street Episode 634
29/06/2024 Duration: 02h43minOn our latest podcast, we chat about the episodes of Corrie airing on Monday 24th and Friday 28th June (Episodes #11,297 - 11,300). Overall this was a pretty good week, we thought, which isn't always the case when the Winter-Browns are headlining! However, some excellent performances by Dolly-Rose Campbell and the addition of Kit as he saves her from prison really helped us to enjoy this week's A-story, plus we're always suckers for a bit of location shooting too! Elsewhere on the Street, we're finally introduced to DS Swain's daughter Betsy, who looks set to be a real troublemaker; Glenda and George's spat is too much for Michael to bear; and Tim has a big decision to make when it comes to how he's going to be spending Steve's birthday - we sense a bust-up at the bust unveiling is imminent! Next on the podcast, it's time for The Kabin - it's good new for Corrie as they triumph at the TRIC Awards, plus the announcement of an official 'Audience With Claire King' event for Emmerdale fans has us speculating whe

Corrieliminator: Round 3
27/06/2024 Duration: 01h34minWe're back for the third round of Corrieliminator! This month, the 30 randomly selected characters from Corrie's past are fairly easy to whittle down to the Top 3, but how did we rank the rest of them? Quite a few names this month that we didn't really have strong opinions on one way or another, so it'd be interesting to know just how much our final ranking aligned with what you would say! As always, you have your chance to vote in the listener poll and pick three characters you want to go through to the listeners' Grand Finale - follow the link below to make your selection! https://forms.gle/qFcxu4EnCSRrzRCZ9 For the video version of the podcast, where you can see us sorting the characters live, head over to our YouTube channel here: https://youtu.be/YdzlURRZYfY

Conversation Street Episode #633
22/06/2024 Duration: 02h44minOn this episode of the podcast, we chat about what went on in Corrie between the 18th and the 21st June (Episodes #11,291 - 11,296). A real mixed bag of a week, we thought, with Wednesday's trip to Weatherfield definitely being the highlight thanks to its cosy, heartwarming scenes like movie night at No. 5 and what we're hoping is the beginning of a redemption arc for Cassie as she she bonds with Ken following his fall. Either side of that episode, though, there was one that made us angry (Toyah and Nick... No!!) and anther whose main story of Kevin and Stefan going head to head just didn't make that big of an impression on us. Still, at least we got a random reappearance of Sabrina, who looks set to be involved in dastardly Joel's plot in some way... Up next on the podcast it's The Kabin, where we give our impressions of a new Corrie-themed tram that's going to be making its way around Manchester for the next 12 months, and we finish things off with more of your feedback. Iain MacLeod Retrospective
17/06/2024 Duration: 02h30minLast Wednesday marked the first time that Iain MacLeod was not listed as Corrie's producer since he took over the reins from Kate Oates in late 2018. With the episodes going forward now bearing wife Verity's name, soon to be replaced by that of incoming producer Kate Brooks, Iain's time at the top on Corrie is finally at an end. Well, unless you count his promotion to Executive Producer, but that's another story... For this week's bonus podcast, we reflect on the five and a half years that Iain was in charge of steering the Good Ship Corrie, chatting about the highs and lows when it comes to stories, characters and general production. How will his time as producer be remembered? What are some hallmarks of the MacLeod era? What were his biggest hits and most disappointing misses? We discuss all this and more in this bumper of a bonus podcast!

Conversation Street Episode 632
14/06/2024 Duration: 01h48minOn this week's podcast, we cover the episodes of Coronation Street shown on the 10th and the 12th June (Episodes #11,287 - 11,290). Only a couple of Corries to chat about this week, and not too many big developments to discuss either, we thought, so a relatively short podcast to balance out the bumper eps from the past few weeks! We'd all seen it coming a mile off, but this week, Toyah and Nick finally kissed - was it just a one-off, or will this blossom into something bigger? We've certainly got our own views where that's concerned! Also this week, Summer's back from Boston, and she's not alone - but is Felix just a bit too much of a geek even for her? Meanwhile, Abi's pleased to hear that Corey's documentary has been taken down, Glenda and George are still at loggerheads (despite Debbie's best efforts...) and Ken has a bit of a tumble - but will he accept his family's support? Up next on the podcast it's The Kabin, where we finally have a name and release month for Charlie Lawson's autobiography, and we fin

Simon Barlow Character Profile Revisit
11/06/2024 Duration: 01h55minThis week, we run down the life story of Simon Barlow, picking up from where we left off when we last profiled him in Episode #70 of the podcast eleven years ago! Ah, what high hopes we had for the little cherub back then, as he was just about to enter his teenage years! In this episode, we chat about his biggest stories from the past decade, reflect on why a member of the Barlow clan was allowed to become so underused and ponder whether now was the right time for his exit from the show.

Conversation Street Episode 631
08/06/2024 Duration: 03h47minIn our latest podcast, we chat about the episodes of Coronation Street shown between the 3rd and the 7th June 2024 (Episodes #11,281 - 11,286). After last week's reveal that Joel was responsible for Lauren's disappearance, he was in full-on skulky villain mode this week - and of course, we were loving it! But with Dee-Dee accepting his marriage proposal on Wednesday, will she discover the truth about her new fiancé before he gets her up the aisle? Meanwhile, we said bye bye Si on Monday as the third member of the Barlow clan in six months headed off to the Med to start a new life - and Leanne has a VERY unusual way of coping with the grief of losing another another son! Also this week, things are hotting up between Glenda and Michael, Roy continues to distance himself from his friends, and Kevin and Abi discover just how much it would cost to suppress her A.I. videos online - does anyone want to club together and pay the same so that we never have to see that freaky Oli monstrosity again too...? Mark Llewellin Interview
06/06/2024 Duration: 45minIn this episode, we chat to Corrie expert Mark Llewellin, who has just this week published his memoirs, entitled With Friends Like These. In the book, he shares stories from over the years about getting to know some of Corrie's biggest names, including Julie Goodyear, Jill Summers and Roy Barraclough, Mark's partner for over 25 years. He really is a fascinating guy, and here, he shares some of the brilliant anecdotes from the book, talking lovingly about many of his Weatherfield pals and sharing some of the many priceless trinkets and treasures from Coronation Street that he's been given over the years. If you're interested in picking up a copy of the book yourself, you can order it from Amazon UK here: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0D45HSSDL?ref_=cm_sw_r_cp_ud_dp_DVN6QNTWXNRF1JEP375X
