  • Sue Devaney On Stage!

    13/09/2023 Duration: 54min

Last weekend, we travelled up north for a couple of days to see Sue Devaney perform in her one-woman show, Didn't You Used To Be Somebody?, which was performed at HOME as part of Manchester's first annual Recoverist month. While we were there, we also popped into a few Corrie filming locations we hadn't visited before and even stopped off at a cafe run by Simon Gregson's wife! A busy old weekend, then, and we had a great time chatting over our favourite moments!

  • Conversation Street Episode 592

    08/09/2023 Duration: 02h38min

On our latest podcast, we chat about the episodes of Coronation Street shown between the 4th and the 7th September (Episodes #11049 - 11054). There's a whole lot of fighting between Cassie and Evelyn this week, as mother and daughter vie for Tyrone's trust. Can Evelyn convince him that his mum's a wrong'un, and can we believe a single word that comes out of Cassie's mouth? Meanwhile, there's a three-way tussle of a different kind over at the precinct this week as Max is pursued by Lauren and Sabrina. Has Lauren really changed her ways and repented for what she has done in the past? Come to think of it, has Max? Also this week, Henry attempts a grand gesture in the hope of whisking Gemma off her feet, Ed does his best to risk temptation and Courtney's back - and can't keep her hands off Aadi! In The Kabin, we mourn the loss of one of Corrie's greatest ever scriptwriters, John Stevenson, and we finish off the show with more of your feedback. Street Talk - 00:15:10 The Kabin - 01:59:39 Feedback - 02:26:57

  • George Banks Interview

    07/09/2023 Duration: 30min

This week, after an all too brief return to the cobbles, Henry Newton bowed out of the show once more following a brutal rejection from Gemma. For this week's bonus podcast, we sat with actor George Banks to chat about what it was like to step back into Henry's shoes after five years, ponder how the character has changed since we last saw him, and quiz him about why on earth Henry would employ someone like Gemma as his PA!

  • Conversation Street Episode 591

    02/09/2023 Duration: 02h19min

In our latest podcast, we chat about what went on in Corrie between the 28th August and the 1st September (Episodes #11043 - 11048). It's the week of the brewery buyout, and despite (or maybe because of..?) how many times Debbie tried the reassure Ronnie that everything would go to plan for him, we had a sneaking suspicion that it wasn't going to be all plain sailing. Surprisingly, by the end of the week, it looks like the Baileys are actually rolling in it - though if Ed were to reflect on any of the lines from that Flint woman's book of inspirational quotes right now, it would be 'a fool and his money are soon parted'... Meanwhile, after sniffing round her for the best part of a year, Stephen finally makes the move on Jenny - does he have his sights set on the Rovers next? Also this week, Stu comes to a decision about Dom's access to Eliza, Carla comes surprisingly close to figuring out the true source of her psychotic episodes, and Billy and Paul have a go at skinny dipping. Not a huge amount of news to co

  • Evelyn Plummer Character Profile

    29/08/2023 Duration: 01h48min

For this week's bonus podcast, we chat about modern Corrie legend Evelyn Plummer, a character who is unbelievably about to hit her five-year anniversary on the show! It was certainly a massive coup for Coronation Street to secure an actress like Maureen Lipman back in 2018, and comparisons to former Weatherfield battleaxes would be inevitable. Five years on and Evelyn is easily one of our favourite characters on the show, has shown what makes her different from the likes of Blanche and Ena, and we had a blast reminiscing about some of her best moments so far when we recorded this episode. Enjoy!

  • Conversation Street Episode 590

    26/08/2023 Duration: 03h08min

On our latest episode of the podcast, we chat about the goings on in Weatherfield between the 21st and the 25th August (Episodes #11037 - 11042) Not content with covering issues surrounding acid attacks, catfishing and steroid abuse, Ryan's story is given another topic to tackle this week - the topic OF his tackle and whether he should be getting it out for all and sundry to see online if they're willing to stump up the cash. Meanwhile, Paul and his rapidly declining condition are back in the spotlight this week - is Billy being a bit too overbearing in how he's dealing with his fiancé's decreased mobility, and is he really going to get the bishop to turn a blind eye to the rule book so that they can get married in a church? Also this week, Todd and George's childish spats lead to Rest Easy gaining a new employee, Ronnie buys some shares in the brewery, and Jenny's chuffed to be taken out by Stephen - and it only seems like a matter of time now until he gets his hands on the Rovers! The Kabin this week covers

  • 30+ Places For Corrie Fans To Visit In And Around Manchester

    22/08/2023 Duration: 55min

Ever wondered where some of Corrie's most iconic scenes on location were filmed? Planning a trip to Manchester and looking for places to visit? In this episode, we share the locations of over 30 filming locations that have been used over the years and chat about the times we've been to see them. Hopefully, this should hopefully come in useful for anyone wanting to retrace the footsteps of some of their Weatherfield favourites! A YouTube version of the episode, featuring photos, videos and Google Maps locations for each place, can be found at https://youtu.be/omB1Va7bKYQ The Google Map we created can be found on our blog, or at https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/edit?mid=17mdeuQCm6gS4_nuN4OlZa72ITomcWVY&usp=sharing

  • Conversation Street Episode 589

    19/08/2023 Duration: 02h51min

On our latest podcast, we chat about what went on in Weatherfield between the 14th and the 18th August (Episodes #11031 - #11036). We were excited to see Evelyn and Cassie return to the cobbles this week, and the story of Tyrone's real mum reconnecting with him was just as gripping as it was when it was left off a few months ago, helped in no small part by some brilliant performances by the main cast members. With Cassie now staying at No. 9, we're sure there'll be plenty of opportunity for drama with the neighbours in the next few weeks, but will Tyrone be able to forgive Evelyn? Meanwhile Stephen manages to wriggle his way out of another tight corner when he successfully snags the telltale tiepin from Lou's room - but he might regret making an enemy of Peter in the process. Also this week, Lauren makes a surprise proposition to Roy, Debbie discovers some surprising news about the brewery and Ryan's roid rage rises. Not a whole lot of news this week, but we do at least have the NTA shortlist to mull over in

  • Jodie Prenger Interview

    17/08/2023 Duration: 38min

Glenda Shuttleworth first set foot in Weatherfield last August, and for Jodie Prenger, it's been a real whirlwind of a year! In this episode, we sit down with the actress behind Rovers' latest barmaid to chat about all things Corrie, from joining the beloved Shuttleworth clan and working in the pub alongside Sally Ann Matthews and Charlie Jordan, to launching Weatherfield's very first stage school, Little Big Shotz!

  • Conversation Street Episode 588

    12/08/2023 Duration: 02h52min

On our latest podcast, we share our thoughts on the episodes of Corrie shown in the UK between the 7th and the 11th August (Episodes #11024 - 11029). The race is on to save the Rovers this week when Jenny's attempts to convince the brewery's accountants that it's a good investment fail. Now, we don't reckon there are many viewers who think there's a chance the pub might actually be demolished, but we still enjoyed drama surrounding whether or not the Newtons would change their minds - not least because it gave plenty of screen time to our beloved Henry! Meanwhile, Stu's not happy to discover that Eliza's been secretly chatting with her dad online - can Dom really be trusted? Also this week, newbie Ruby wins the lead role in Glenda's production, Shona gets a new comrade in barms, and a stray tie pin found by Rufus' pool risks landing Stephen in hot water. Up next on the podcast it's The Kabin, where we chat about a couple of upcoming events Corrie fans might enjoy attending, and we finish things off with more

  • Listener Questions

    08/08/2023 Duration: 01h48min

For this week's bonus podcast, we raid the old mail bag and pull out two more of your listener questions to have a good old natter about! First off, we spend a good hour or so pondering which characters are now quite different to how they were when they first appeared on the Street, and for what reasons. We're sure most Corrie viewers could name some personalities that have altered - for better and for worse! - over the years, so do our picks match yours? After that, we're tasked with coming up with some modern takes on classic Corrie stories. Are there any storylines from the 60s or 70s that would work today, and what modern spin would we put on them? This one actually turned out to be quite tricky as so many early stories HAVE been redone in one way or another, but we gave it our best shot!

  • Conversation Street Episode 587

    05/08/2023 Duration: 03h29min

On this weekend's podcast, we chat about the episodes of Corrie shown in the UK between the 31st July and the 4th August (Episodes #11018 - 11023). After all her sneaking about trying to hide the true identity of her unborn baby's father, it was only a matter of time before Sarah's lies would catch up with her - we weren't expecting it to be this early, mind you! With Adam finding out the truth and revealing it to the family on Monday, things didn't seem like they could get any worse for Sarah, and then Wednesday happened... Things are looking pretty bleak for Jenny this week too, but a very welcome return on Friday's episode could well prove to be the saviour she's looking for! Also this week, Bernie's a bit tactless, Yasmeen's totally gormless and Ryan proves popular topless! Quite a bit of news to cover this week in The Kabin - including two stories involving free cakes! - and we finish things off with a bit of feedback. Street Talk - 00:13:33 The Kabin - 02:40:04 Feedback - 03:11:37

  • Conversation Street Episode 586

    03/08/2023 Duration: 02h49min

We're back from our holidays and all caught up on last week's Corrie, so in this episode of the podcast, we chat about what went down on the cobbles between the 24th and the 28th July (Episodes #11013 - 11017) This week, with Elaine disappearing off to Scarborough, you might have been wondering which storyline Stephen would be meddling in next. Thanks to a bit of a weird flashback sequence on Wednesday, though, it turns out he's already been laying the groundwork for interfering in Sarah and Adam's paternity dramas! So many great twists and turns there, and once again, we have to say that what could have been a standard affair / who's the daddy storyline is still feeling surprisingly fresh! Meanwhile, Aadi's getting himself into some real hot water as he continues to dance to Courtney's tune - is this a comedy story? Something serious about an innocent teen being groomed? A steamy summer love affair? Turns out we have plenty to say about this one, either way! Meanwhile, Ryan's back and getting himself jacked,

  • Conversation Street Episode 585

    22/07/2023 Duration: 03h07min

On our latest podcast, we chat about the episodes of Coronation Street shown in the UK between the 17th and the 21st July (Episodes #11007 - 11012). This week was the very definition of a mixed bag! We're big fans of Spider and Toyah and have missed their lack of presence on the show for most of the year, but when the powers that be decide to include them, this is what we get? A farcical, zero tension hostage scene followed by Spider choosing the force over his fiancée? We'd say words fail us, but we certainly managed to get a good discussion out of it in the podcast! Then on the other side of the coin, you've got the Stephen storyline - now we're not going to say that's not farcical either, but we were on the edge of our seats with that plot this week! Who knew that Elaine actually had a backbone, and what on earth is Stephen going to do now? Also this week, Paul is apprehensive about his MND support group visit, Aadi attracts the attentions of his new boss' wife, and Brian finally gets rid of Isabella. Up n

  • Jackie Dobbs Character Profile

    18/07/2023 Duration: 01h15min

For this week's bonus podcast, we chat about cellmate from hell, Jackie Dobbs. Originally brought onto the cobbles during Deirdre's stint in the slammer, Jackie went on to feature in 65 episodes of the show, and although this might not seem like much, actress Margi Clarke's larger than life performance made sure Jackie went down in Corrie history! As we record this, we've just been introduced to Tyrone's birth mum Cassie, but for us long time viewers, he's always going to be Jackie's son in our hearts!

  • Conversation Street Episode 584

    15/07/2023 Duration: 03h07min

In our latest podcast, we run down the goings on in Weatherfield between the 10th and the 14th July (Episodes #11001 - 11006). For the past five years, we've been putting our #BringBackHenry prayers into the Twitterverse, and this week's Corrie suggests they may finally have been answered. Bless you, Jenny, for suggesting that Gemma get in touch with her old flame for a job - of course, a phone call and a text don't necessarily confirm a comeback, but we're feeling positive here.. And speaking of comebacks, Griff's mate Reece makes an appearance this week when Lauren convinces Max to visit him in jail, but do they have sinister motives behind the invitation? Also this week, Sarah's DNA test results arrive, Elaine and Gerry grow closer and it's an eventful few days for Toyah as she gets both engaged and kidnapped! Up next on the podcast, we head to The Kabin, where Gemma casts her fashionista's eye over the guests at Corrie's summer party, and we finish things off with more of your listener feedback. Street Ta

  • Daniel Brocklebank and Chris James Interview

    11/07/2023 Duration: 01h22min

For this week's bonus podcast, we have a double whammy of interviews for you! First up, we're joined by Daniel Brocklebank, who plays Billy Mayhew. We chat to Dan about his involvement in the current MND storyline as well as some of his other highlights during his time on the cobbles. After that, we speak to Chris James from the Motor Neurone Disease Association about the work that the charity has done with Coronation Street to help bring Paul's heartbreaking story to the screen. If you'd like to find out more about the Motor Neurone Disease Association, including how to help support their cause, visit https://www.mndassociation.org

  • Conversation Street Episode 583

    08/07/2023 Duration: 02h34min

On our latest podcast, we chat about the episodes of Corrie shown in the UK between the 3rd and the 7th July (Episodes #10995 - 11000). What a difference a week can make! Whilst the twists and turns of last week's Corrie led to one of our longest Street Talks yet, the latest batch of episodes really didn't inspire that much discussion, we're sorry to say. Paul was definitely a bit of a pillock this week, going off to the hotel room with an ex, and deserved every bit of that telling off het got from Billy afterwards. We absolutely have sympathy for everything Gemma's going through too, and as for Ryan's story... yeah, it's going through all the expected beats. But hey, at least they've remembered Michelle exists! And would Stephen please just hurry up and bump off Elaine already? There's a good amount of news to chat about this week at least, including the announcement of a new show to celebrate Barbara Knox's 90th birthday; plus, there's the Inside Soap Award nominations to discuss! We round the show off with

  • Brian Capron Interview

    06/07/2023 Duration: 59min

If you're like us, you'll have been loving watching Richard Hillman's reign of terror reaching its climax in recent weeks on Classic Corrie on ITV3. To mark the occasion, for this week's bonus podcast, we chatted to actor Brian Capron - the man behind the murderer! Brian has so many stories about his time on the show so if you're into behind the scenes secrets, you're going to love this! Also available as a video version on YouTube: https://youtu.be/0-PYpzpg6iQ

  • Conversation Street Episode 582

    01/07/2023 Duration: 03h17min

In our latest episode of the podcast, we chat about what went on in Corrie between the 26th and the 30th June (Episodes #10989 - 10994). Did anyone else find Corrie to be absolutely fantastic this week? There were revelations aplenty, like Sarah's pregnancy, the truth about the actual identity of 'Bec' and of course the fact that Ty's birth mum Cassie is actually alive and well. Then you had some brilliant scenes such as that nine-minute hospital room epic between Evelyn and Cassie, and Shona getting emotional over Max's victim statement. Stephen's increasing frustrations with both Owen and Elaine made us chuckle, and the hopelessness of Paul's tragic tale gave way to some heartwarming moments like the left-handed darts match and Dee-Dee's stories about how her faith got her through some tough times in LA. An absolute banger of a week, which led to a particularly lengthy Street Talk segment! Not a whole lot of news this week, but we did have one or two items to cover like the introduction of some real life Ro
