  • Conversation Street Episode 175

    14/11/2015 Duration: 01h50min

On this weekend's podcast, we take a look at the episodes of Corrie broadcast between the 9th and the 13th November in the UK. Look out Leanne - Simon's back in town, looking extra mean in his black leather jacket, and he's gunning for you! Meanwhile, Ken continues to openly pursue his relationship with Nessa, whilst Liz and Tony try to keep their reunion under wraps. Is she about to make the biggest mistake of her life, or could she have an ulterior motive? In the Kabin, we discuss the rumours of Kate Oakes' potential Twitter ban for the cast, and we hear about some listeners' thoughts on Ken's love life in the feedback section. Following the sad news of Stephen Hancock's death last week, for the classic character profile we focus on photographer Ernest Bishop.

  • Conversation Street Episode 174

    07/11/2015 Duration: 01h39min

On the latest podcast, we take a look at the episodes of Coronation Street broadcast between the 2nd and the 6th November in the UK. There's something in the air this week, because it seems like everyone's in the mood for romance. Well okay, maybe not Gary and Alya, but that aside, the other storylines this week include the love triangle between Ken, Nessa and Audrey; Mary's blossoming relationship with Brendan; Dev proving he's still got it by setting his sights on Erika; and the reunion of Liz and Tony. There must be something not right when a child cancer storyline is a bit of fresh air! Next up we answer some more of your listener questions, including a discussion on which new businesses we'd like to see on the show. We have a short obituary for Stephen Hancock in the news section, before finishing off with more of your feedback.

  • Conversation Street Episode 173

    31/10/2015 Duration: 01h24min

In our latest podcast, we take a look at the episodes of Coronation Street broadcast between the 26th and the 30th October in the UK. It's the run up to Halloween on the cobbles this week, and although we sadly didn't get to experience the reanimated corpse of Callum crawling out of Gail's manhole, we were at least treated to the sight of Tyrone in skin-tight Catwoman outfit, which, in many ways, is just as terrifying. Meanwhile, Mary may have found a kindred spirit in the form of ghost hunter Brendan, and all hell breaks loose when the truth about Alya and Jason's fling is revealed. In the Kabin section, we find out what Craig Charles has been up to to mark Halloween, and round off the episode with some feedback. Our character profile this week is on Corrie's very own Wednesday Addams - it's Amy Barlow!

  • Conversation Street Episode 172

    24/10/2015 Duration: 01h40min

On the latest podcast, we take a look back on the episodes of Corrie broadcast between the 18th and the 23rd September. This week, Maria is called to do the duty that befalls every Corrie woman at some point: tending to her sick mother for six months. With his girlfriend away, Luke's now free to concentrate on his secret race, though soon finds himself caught up in Steph's racy secret... Meanwhile, unable to handle the stress of hiding Callum's corpse, Sarah returns to Italy, but can Kylie cope with only David to turn to? After Street Talk, we welcome Glenda Young back to the podcast for a chat about her recently released book, Deirdre: A Life On Coronation Street. We then cover the sad news of Peter Baldwin's death, before rounding off the episode with some feedback.

  • Conversation Street Episode 171

    17/10/2015 Duration: 01h25min

In our latest podcast, we talk about the episodes of Corrie broadcast in the UK between the 14th and 16th October. There are only a handful of episodes to talk about this week, with the bulk of the screen time taken up by the continuing Callum concrete cover up. We've been enjoying Sarah going slowly insane in the weeks since the live episode, and on Friday, she finally confesses to Billy - just how much is she willing to divulge, though? Elsewhere, Amy gets a new hobby, while Luke's continued pursuit of his interest in stock cars threatens to drive a wedge between him and Maria. With hope in sight for Hope, we chose to do a classic character profile on her dad John Stape this week, whilst in the Kabin, we take a look at some Corrie-related items that could be finding themselves under your tree this Christmas. We round off the show with some feedback, including some Canadian impressions of the recently broadcast live episode, and some listeners' responses to the characters that they'd like to see make a Corri

  • Conversation Street Episode 170

    10/10/2015 Duration: 02h01min

In this week's podcast, we share our thoughts on the episodes of Corrie broadcast in the UK between the 5th and the 9th October. Sally's wedding day has arrived...or has it? The bride-to-be is convinced that despite being dumped by Tim, he's still going to turn up to the ceremony. Sarah Lou is also playing the waiting game this week, convinced that it's only a matter of time before Callum's body is discovered. Will her feelings of guilt force her to confess? Meanwhile, Corrie gets its own 'Here's Johnny!' moment this week, when Aiden's dad arrives on the Street - we admit we did sigh when we learned there was going to be yet another expansion to the Connor clan, but early impressions are actually quite positive! After Street Talk, we tackle some of your listener questions, including which characters we'd like to see make a comeback, then we celebrate some recent award wins in the news section. As always, we round up the show with some of your lovely listener emails.

  • Conversation Street Episode 169

    03/10/2015 Duration: 01h25min

In this week's podcast, we chat about the episodes of Coronation Street broadcast in the UK between the 28th and 30th September. There are only three episodes to discuss this week, but with the fallout from the live show in full swing, there's still a lot to cover. Callum's been stowed away underneath the Platts' garage for a week now, and people are starting to notice he's missing. Can David and Kylie throw Marion and Gemma off the scent, or will Sarah's snivelling give the game away? The biggest sniveller of the week, though, has to be Sally, who's seems to have given up on ever getting Tim back at the start of Monday's episode. Thankfully, Rita and Sophie are on the case, but when they enlist Craig's help in the only way he knows how - through the medium of art, of course - will it be enough convince Tim to come back? In the Kabin, we find out the shortlist for the Inside Soap Awards, and there are more thoughts on the live episode from listeners in the feedback section. Character profile this week is on A

  • Conversation Street Episode 168

    26/09/2015 Duration: 02h14min

This week on the podcast, we talk about the episodes of Coronation Street shown between the 21st and the 25th September in the UK. In a one-off change to the normal way of doing things, the Street Talk discussion just runs through each episode scene by scene - this is so we could insert the recording from our live reactions episode from Wednesday in between the Monday and Friday discussion. There were big developments for the Platt, Webster and Cropper storylines this week, which means a lot to talk about! As well as that, we say a fond farewell to Lloyd and Andrea on Wednesday... then again on Friday - but it still hasn't quite sunk in they're gone! In the Kabin we talk ratings and reviews for the live episode, and before hearing some listeners' opinions on the week in the feedback section.

  • Conversation Street Episode 167

    19/09/2015 Duration: 02h34min

We hope you've got plenty of time set aside this week, because unless we're mistaken, this is our longest podcast yet! We kick off the show with a discussion of the episodes broadcast between the 13th and 17th September in the UK. We're in the final few days before the live episode, and things are certainly building up for the Platt storyline. David thinks he's got Callum cornered by the end of the week, but we've got a sneaking suspicion that Weatherfield's campest drug dealer's going to be back on the streets before long... Meanwhile, the future for Cathy and Roy is uncertain when she confesses her feelings towards him to Anna, but at least we get a happy ending for Lloyd and Andrea - though time will tell how things will be left with him and Steve... For our feature discussion this week, we delve into Coronation Street's history of live episodes, ponder how next week's special will compare, and make some predictions around the big storylines. We then cover the news of two major exits in the Kabin, before h

  • Conversation Street Episode 166

    13/09/2015 Duration: 01h53min

It's a bumper episode of Conversation Street this week, as we cover the eight episodes broadcast in the UK between the 3rd and the 11th September. Carla's guilt over the Victoria Court fire threatens to drive her over the edge this week, and she takes a gamble on her life. Meanwhile, the secret of Simon's violent behaviour towards Leanne finally comes out after he knocks her unconscious. The Windasses discover they may have lost Miley for good, but as one baby leaves, it looks like there's another one on the way for Andrea! In the Kabin, we celebrate Alison King's recent win at the TV Choice Awards, and in the feedback section, we ponder the best age for getting into Corrie.

  • Conversation Street Episode 165

    03/09/2015 Duration: 01h23min

In this week's early episode, we talk about Corrie between the 31st August and the 2nd September. On Monday's episode, everyone gathers in the Bistro for an auction in memory of Maddie, but an increasingly desperate - and drunk - Carla threatens to make the occasion memorable for all the wrong reasons. It's Kevin's 50th this week, which means it's time once more another Corrie surprise party - what could possibly go wrong? Feeling somewhat less celebratory this week are Tyrone and Fiz, who are anxiously waiting to find out what's wrong with Hope. Let's hope viewers have recovered from last year's loss of Hayley - this one's not looking like it's going to end well! There's little in the way of Corrie news this week, so we give the Kabin a miss, but we do have a few listener emails to read out at the end of the episode. This week's character profile is on everyone's favourite workshy windows washer, Tim Metcalfe.

  • Conversation Street Episode 164

    29/08/2015 Duration: 02h01min

On the latest podcast, we share our thoughts on the episodes of Corrie broadcast in the UK between the 24th and the 28th August. The Callum cycle continues to turn this week, with Weatherfield's local drug dealer managing to evade capture yet again - has the time come for Tony to take the law into his own hands? It's a week of ups and down for Lloyd too - an old flame is rekindled, but what will Andrea say when she finds out? Meanwhile,  Cathy gets lumbered with teaching an art class at the community centre - can she help the neighbours to discover their inner Lowry? Next up, we step into the role of the Corrie producer for listener question time, before catching up with the latest news in the Kabin. As always, we round off the episode with some feedback, including one listener's theory on Gail and Michael's eventual reconciliation.

  • Conversation Street Episode 163

    22/08/2015 Duration: 02h03min

On our latest podcast, we chat about the episodes of Coronation Street broadcast between the 17th and the 21st August in the UK. There are a couple of new faces on the Street this week, in the shape of outdoor enthusiast Dougie and the latest member of the Connor clan, Aidan. We give our impressions of these characters (after a little hiccup when we're each talking about a different person!) and share our thoughts on the week's episodes, which see Craig get a girl, Carla get a man, and Jason get a nasty beating. Following a classic character profile on Janice Battersby, we lift the lid on the world of Corrie fan fiction in the Kabin, and hear some readers' thoughts on Simon's recent behaviour in the feedback section.

  • Conversation Street Episode 162

    17/08/2015 Duration: 01h40min

This week, we celebrate the third anniversary of the podcast with a very special episode, kicking off with an interview with one of our favourite Corrie actresses: Sally Ann Matthews! Sal talks about what it was like to step back into the role of Jenny Bradley earlier this year, and gives us a fascinating insight into the behind the scenes workings of our favourite soap. After saying goodbye to our guest, we move onto Street Talk, in which we cover the episodes broadcast in the UK between the 10th and the 14th August. This week, Simon kicks Leanne and hits the bottle - but with Ken on the case, how long can he keep his violent tendencies secret? Meanwhile, Lloyd's left in a spin when one of his records goes missing, and when Steph gets the wrong end of the stick after overhearing a telephone conversation, there's trouble in store for Luke and Maria. In the Kabin, we have a bit of a chat about the upcoming live episode now the date's been set, and we weigh up the chances of a relationship blossoming between Le

  • Conversation Street Episode 161

    09/08/2015 Duration: 01h35min

In the latest podcast, we chat about the episodes of Coronation Street broadcast in the UK between the 3rd and the 7th August in the UK. This week, Carla returns to Weatherfield after gambling away everything during a trip to Vegas. Meanwhile, Sally finds herself locking lips with an old flame, and Sarah finally sees Callum's true colours when Max discovers a gun in his room. Next up, we're joined by Jack Lewin, who tells us all about his recent trip behind the scenes on the new Corrie set. In the Kabin, we talk about the fate of the old set, then we round things off by hearing about some of the characters our listeners would axe in the feedback section.

  • Conversation Street Episode 160

    01/08/2015 Duration: 01h54min

On this weekend's podcast, we reflect on the episodes of Coronation Street broadcast between the 27th and 31st July in the UK. This week, the pressure's mounting for Alya when she discovers that her one-night stand with Jason may have had unexpected consequences. Meanwhile, Bethany nearly pays the price for getting involved with Callum when the Dog and Gun gets raided, plus Cathy's obsessive hoarding problem gets a little on top of her.  It's listener question time this week, and we discuss whether Corrie should go back to the good old days of gentle humour; choose which character we'd like to swap places with for 24 hours; and explain which five characters we'd like to axe - and how we'd do it. In the Kabin, there's bad news if you're a Sarah Harding fan (No? Anyone?) then we finish off with three listener messages.

  • Conversation Street Episode 159

    25/07/2015 Duration: 01h44min

On the latest podcast, we share our thoughts on the episodes of Coronation Street shown in the UK between the 20th and the 24th July. This week, the Rodwell Rift grows ever wider when Michael decides to take things to the next level with Eileen. That could be the least of Gail's problems before long, though, if Callum's latest plan involving Bethany comes to fruition. Meanwhile, Leanne finds herself in a spot of bother when she gets caught up in one of Corrie's least convincing hostage situations, and speaking of unconvincing, pop star turned actress Sarah Harding makes a cameo as Robert's wife Joni this week - and like many viewers, we weren't too impressed! In the Kabin section of the podcast, we do a bit of shameless self-promotion and talk about the new range of Conversation Street merchandise, and we hear from a new listener in the feedback section. Our character profile this week is on Audrey Roberts. Why not give it a listen, hmm?

  • Conversation Street Episode 158

    18/07/2015 Duration: 02h24min

On the latest podcast, we cover the episodes of Corrie broadcast in the UK between the 13th and the 17th July. The Street residents gather together for Deirdre's funeral on Monday, but as the much-loved character is laid to rest, can Bev and Audrey do the same with their long-standing feud? Meanwhile Carla's luck runs out during a trip to the casino, and Leanne reveals the truth about Dan's violent past to Liz. Next up, with Deirdre's funeral on everyone's minds, we look back at how Coronation Street has covered the topic of death over the years. We share some of our most memorable deaths on the show, find out the most common ways of killing off characters, and remember everyone's favourite undertaker, Archie Shuttleworth. In the news section, we review the recently released Coronation Street True or False trivia game, and we round off the show with some more listener feedback.

  • Conversation Street Episode 157

    11/07/2015 Duration: 02h12min

In this week's podcast, we chat about the episodes of Corrie broadcast in the UK between the 6th and the 11th July. The Street is left in shock on Wednesday, as Bev returns to the Street to deliver the news that Deirdre has stuffed her last marrow and shuffled off the mortal coil. How will the residents cope with this devastating loss? What will Ken do when he finds out the real reason that Deirdre stayed away so long? And will Simon manage to complete his computer game before the funeral on Monday?? Speaking of which, Kylie plays a dangerous game with Callum this week - has she finally bitten off more than she can chew? After an extended Street Talk section we tackle some of your listener questions, including how we would have written Deirdre out of the show, and the extent to which Coronation Street influences social change. We then share our excitement for a new official Corrie book in the Kabin, before finishing off with some listener feedback.

  • Conversation Street Episode 156

    05/07/2015 Duration: 01h29min

On our latest podcast, we chat about the episodes of Coronation Street broadcast in the UK between the 29th June and 3rd July. It's shampoo bottles at dawn this week, as Gail and Eileen roll up their sleeves round two of their clash on the cobbles. They're not the only ones in a fighting mood either, as Brian and Dev square up to each other in their quest for Julie's heart. Meanwhile, Liz and Michelle team up to take down Tony, and Leanne is haunted by a face (and chin!) from the past. In the Kabin, there's good news for Helen Flanagan and Kym Marsh, and a listener wonders why Jason and Todd have got so pally in the feedback section. With Deirdre's imminent death on everyone's minds right now, our classic character profile this week is on her first husband, Ray Langton.
