Conversation Street Episode 411
27/03/2020 Duration: 01h43minWith no Friday Corrie to watch this week, we're coming at you early, chatting about the episodes shown between the 23rd and the 25th March in the UK (Episodes #10,038 - 10,041). This week, a bombshell from Shona sees David's self-destructive side come bubbling to the surface, and Emma realises that Seb might not be as over Alina as he'd previously claimed... Meanwhile, Ken gets a telling off from Charles after smuggling Eccles into Stillwaters, Evelyn's blossoming romance with Arthur is back on track, and Gemma dreams of freshly laundered children. We finish off the podcast with more of your feedback, including one listener's theory on how Geoff's escort may play into his dastardly schemes. Street Talk - 00:10:57 Feedback - 01:25:12

Archie Shuttleworth Character Profile - Episode 410
21/03/2020 Duration: 34minThis week, we learned the sad news of beloved entertainer Roy Hudd's death, so in tribute, our bonus material for Episode 410 is a character profile of Archie Shuttleworth, Corrie's merry mortician. Despite only being a prominent feature of Corrie for a year or so in the early 2000s, Archie's big personality and even bigger heart made him a real favourite for many viewers - and his role in uncovering the truth about dastardly Richard Hillman didn't hurt either! Archie Shuttleworth, a true Corrie legend - we're not wrong!

Conversation Street Episode 410
21/03/2020 Duration: 02h22minOn our latest podcast, we have a natter about the episodes of Coronation Street shown in the UK between the 16th and the 20th March (Episodes #10,032 - 10,037). Another fab week on the cobbles, we thought, helped in no small part a the focus on some of the older members of the cast. Yasmeen's torment at the hands of evil Geoff continued to keep us hooked, whilst the prospect of a blossoming romance for Evelyn provided a nice bit of character development for the usually very guarded granny. And as for the bonkers goings on at Stillwaters, from Claudia in full-on fencing gear to Norris' fear that Freda has been indoctrinated into some sort of cult.. just wonderful! We round off the podcast with a bit of listener feedback, including a voicemail from across the pond and a big thank you to a listener who's sent us a fascinating look at what a 1990 issue of Woman magazine thought Corrie would look like in 2020... Conversation Street Episode 409
19/03/2020 Duration: 53minIn this special one-off episode, we chat about the potential consequences that the coronavirus pandemic may have on Coronation Street. We really did want to avoid bringing up the subject, but with this week's news that Corrie is to move to three episodes a week and rumblings of kissing scene bans and isolation of cast members, it seems like it's become something we had to address. Hopefully, for those of you who are sick of hearing about COVID-19, you can just not listen to this episode and be safe in the knowledge that we'll do our best to keep future podcasts coronavirus-free wherever possible. If you do want to hear our thoughts on how we think the production, stories and broadcasts could be affected, though - and whether we think Corrie should even touch on the pandemic at all in its scripts - then you've come to the right place!

Conversation Street Episode 408: Ali Neeson Character Profile
14/03/2020 Duration: 52minOn our extra podcast this week, we take a look at the character of Ali Neeson, who bowed out of Weatherfield on Friday night following his scrap with Gary. We investigate the doctor's complicated history, from new families to new names, share our thoughts on how his exit was handled, and speculate if we'll ever see him back on the Street again.

Conversation Street Episode 408
14/03/2020 Duration: 03h09minOn our latest podcast, we chat about the episodes of Coronation Street broadcast in the UK between the 9th and the 13th March (Episodes #10,026 to 10,031). It was a really satisfying set of episodes this week, we thought, with plenty of lovely character moments that hit just the right notes - Ken's emotional goodbye to Eccles and Number 1, Roy standing up for Nina and her gradual opening up to him, Yasmeen's turmoil as she's torn between her granddaughter and her husband... all top stuff! And for the action fans among us, we had a pretty epic scrap between Ali and Gary too. Next up on the podcast, it's time for The Kabin, where we delve into the planning documents for the proposed Coronation Street Experience, an extension to the current tour that looks very exciting indeed. We finish off the show with more listener feedback. Street Talk - 00:15:26 The Kabin - 02:12:08 Feedback - 02:49:17

Conversation Street Episode 407: Ryan Prescott Interview
07/03/2020 Duration: 30minThis week saw the online release of Chapter 2: Zach, the sci-fi short from Dom Stephenson and starring a number of Corrie actors including Ryan Prescott, who speaks to the podcast this week in an exclusive interview. As well as telling us how he got involved in the project and what it was like to film, there's plenty of Corrie chat too as Ryan reflects on his two years playing Ryan Connor.

Conversaton Street Episode 407
07/03/2020 Duration: 02h50minOn Episode 407 of the podcast, we talk about all things Corrie for the week of the 2nd to the 6th March (Episodes 10,020 to 10,025). This week saw marriage number two for Sarah-Lou, as Adam Barlow takes her up the aisle in a swanky hotel ceremony. In a nice change to the usual Corrie wedding drama, the couple get hitched without a hitch, and a lot of the focus is on Daniel and Sine- er, Bethany, who bows out of the show this week to start a new life as a London magazine writer. She's not the only character disappearing off into the sunset this week, as - after a change of heart from fickle firestarter Hope - Jade is shown the door. In The Kabin, we share our thoughts on Chapter 2: Zach, the newly released short film from Dom Stephenson starring a number of Corrie actors, and we finish off the show with some listener feedback, including a theory from an eagle-eyed listener, who's spotted something that may well hint as to what Ray's plans are for the Street... Conversation Street Episode 406: Feature Discussion
01/03/2020 Duration: 01h20minA few weeks ago, we shared our thoughts on the Corrie episodes from 1960, and now it's time to cover what we've seen from 1961-1964. From big moments we'd read about before but never actually seen like Christine Hardman threatening to jump off the factory roof and Dennis smuggling sea lions into the Rovers, to characters we never realised how much we'd love - we're looking at you, Minnie Caldwell! - we really did have a blast watching these episodes!

Conversation Street Episode 406
29/02/2020 Duration: 02h36minOn our latest podcast, we chat about the episodes of Coronation Street shown in the UK between the 24th and the 28th February (episodes 10,014 to 10,019). Cluckin' 'eck - after an iffy few weeks, Corrie is certainly back on form! This week, there's a murder most fowl at number 6 as bad egg Geoff firmly asserts himself at the top of the Metcalfe pecking order. Meanwhile, Beth ruffles Sarah's feathers at her hen do, Tracy offers Ken a poultry amount for number 1 and starts a bidding war, and Ray hatches a plan to get back at Abi - but will he pullet off? Now, because of a bit of a webspace issue (yes, we've been talking far too much this month!) combined with that pesky 29th February, we've had to split Episode 406 in two, and our discussion on the Corrie episodes we've been watching from 1961-1964 will be uploaded in its own mini episode tomorrow, so keep an eye out for that! We just have time to round off this podcast with some feedback, including some Canadian listeners' thoughts on the special 10,000th epis

Conversation Street Episode 405
22/02/2020 Duration: 03h32minOn our latest podcast, we discuss the goings on in Weatherfield between the 17th and the 21st February (episodes 10,008 to 10,013). This week, we got to see some characters living with the consequences of some unwise decisions made last Friday; namely, Abi blowing up Ray's car and Maria's sexy session on the sofa with dishy Doctor Ali. Meanwhile, Edison's reaction to James' big reveal is far from ideal, and Tara says ta-ra after Chesney turns Frescho's marketing campaign into a laughing stock (though, to be fair, it seemed pretty ludicrous to us from the start..). Up next on the podcast, we're chuffed to be joined for a chat by Kevin Kennedy, aka Corrie's binman turned supermarket manager Curly Watts. Kevin reflects on his time on the Street, responds to those persistent rumours of a Curly comeback, and shares some stories about his time working with Corrie legends including Sarah Lancashire and Pat Phoenix. In The Kabin section, we share new details on Corrie's 60th anniversary book, due to be published in O

Conversation Street Episode 404
15/02/2020 Duration: 03h06minOn our latest podcast, we chat about the goings on in Weatherfield between the 10th and the 14th February (episodes 10,002 to 10,007). In a string of episodes that culminated in Valentine's Day, love, sex and romance was certainly on the minds of a lot of characters this week. When slimy Ray books an executive hotel suite for Alya, there's only one thing on his mind, and when Abi finds out his true colours, she plots an explosive revenge. Meanwhile, the future train wreck that is Daniel and Bethany's blossoming romance hurtles along its track, Seb's heart's aflutter as Alina finds work in the factory, and Gary's plans to propose to Maria take a bit of a detour after she mistakenly thinks he's back to his loan sharky ways. Up next on the podcast, we do a classic character profile on Harry Hewitt, one of the Corrie originals who we've been particularly enjoying watching on our 60s marathon. That's followed by some sad news for meerkat fans in the Kabin, and we round off the podcast on some of your thoughts on t

Conversation Street Episode 403
08/02/2020 Duration: 04h12minOn this week's podcast, we cover the goings on in Weatherfield between the 3rd and the 7th February, which of course culminated in Friday's very special 10,000th episode. There was nostalgia aplenty as a stellar cast of characters boarded the party bus for a trip to Blackpool to scatter Dennis Tanner's ashes, but in true Corrie fashion, not everything went quite to plan... Also this week, there's more awkwardness for Bethany and Daniel, Nina sleeps rough, and a magic trick gone wrong leaves Yasmeen's body in tact but her soul crushed. After Street Talk, we keep that nostalgia meter ramped right up as we delve into the a discussion of Corrie's first seven episodes, broadcast in December of 1960. We've recently been devouring our way through a Corrie 60s box set, and in this feature, we share our first thoughts on where it all started. That's followed by some interesting teases from Iain Macleod about Corrie's upcoming diamond anniverary celebrations in The Kabin, and in the feedback section, we hear some liste

Conversation Street Episode 402
01/02/2020 Duration: 04h36minThis week on the podcast, we talk about the episodes of Corrie broadcast in the UK between the 27th and the 31st January. It doesn't happen all too often, but we do quite like it when storylines cross over in unexpected ways, and we did think that linking the story of Daniel not getting Bertie vaccinated with Maria's miscarriage really was quite clever on Wednesday. On the whole, though, we weren't too impressed by this week's offerings from Corrie, and if, like us, you don't find baby stories particularly riveting, you may not have found a whole lot to like! And once Street Talk is over, the Kev the Crank-worthy rants and bants just keep on coming, as the middle section this week is the triumphant return of the Joni Awards! Now in its third year, the Jonis are a tongue-in-cheek opportunity for us to let off steam and have a good old moan about the past year's Corrie, be it improbable jumps in logic, Weatherfield residents who seemingly have a personality transplant, or the over-use of certain characters over

Conversation Street Episode 401
25/01/2020 Duration: 03h34minOn our latest podcast, we have a good old natter about the episodes of Corrie shown in the UK between the 20th and the 24th January. Love it or hate it (and if you know us, you'll have a good idea what side we're on!), the Jade story took centre stage this week, in scenes that featured a runaway child, a vicious chopping board attack, and incredible jumps of logic (Paradise Lost = Hope's in the loft, anyone?) - this one certainly feels like it's building to a big climax! Also this week, the welcome return of Charlie, Tim's Vegas wife, and the genius move to have her working alongside Jenny in the Rovers; plus we say goodbye for now to Bernie, Shona and Max. Up next on the podcast, our third and final part of the review of the decade, focusing on Kate Oates' controversial era at the show's helm. That's followed by a discussion of Corrie reportedly allowing its stars to endorse products on social media in The Kabin, and we round things off with a few listener emails in the feedback section. Conversation Street Episode 400
18/01/2020 Duration: 03h44minWe're in a bit of a festive mood in our latest podcast as this week, we're celebrating our 400th episode! And what better way to mark this podcasting milstone than by inviting Corrie legend Julie Hesmondhalgh onto the show to discuss her time playing fan favourite, Hayley Cropper? Before that, though, we crack on with a Street Talk covering the episodes broadcast in the UK between the 13th and the 17th January. Sadly, poor Yasmeen won't be raising a glass to toast our 400th show as this week, Geoff convinces her she's an alcoholic and should give up the booze for good! Meanwhile, Shona wakes from her coma but doesn't recognise David (maybe try losing the beard?), and - Kel Surprise! - Bernie's plan to catfish her ex ends up backfiring. Up next on the podcast, Michael chats to Julie Hesmondhalgh about what it was like to play such a Corrie legend for 15 years and what she's been up to since, including her recent charity work with 500 Acts of Kindness (do check it out!). That's followed by some hints about the

Conversation Street Episode 399
11/01/2020 Duration: 04h22minOn the latest edition of the podcast, we check out the episodes of Corrie shown in the UK between the 6th and the 10th January. This week, it was the Jade story that took centre stage, as Hope's secret sister reveals her true identity as part of her plan to tear the Dobbs-Stape household apart. With some excellent performances from all the main players and some particularly fantastic Evelyn moments, we certainly found a lot to like here! Also this week, Corrie doesn't really know whether the Tracy and Paula story is supposed to be dramatic or comedic, Shona clings onto life (with Julia Goulding seemingly refusing to go on her maternity leave!) and Gemma and Chesney finally manage to get some much needed shut-eye. Next up on the podcast, we take a look at the years 2013-2015 as we delve back into our review of the past decade. That's followed by a look at who's made it through to the NTA shortlist in The Kabin, befre finishing off with a couple of voicemails in the listener feedback segment. Street Talk - 00:2

Conversation Street Episode 398
04/01/2020 Duration: 04h06minOn our first podcast of 2020, we chat about the episodes of Corrie shown in the UK between the 30th December and the 3rd January. This week, whilst the Rovers' New Year celebrations may be a bit of a damp squib, Tracy and Paula certainly start theirs with a bang. Meanwhile, Shona's life hangs in the balance, Maria proves for the umpteenth time she's a terrible judge of character, and Kevin just can't help overhearing conversations that aren't intended for his ears. Next up on the podcast, we have the first installment of a three-part feature looking back on the past decade of Corrie, this week focusing on the years 2010-2012. From explosive events like the tram crash and the Underworld siege to new characters like Kylie Platt and the Prices, we chat about the highs and the lows at the start of the decade. In The Kabin, we take a look at which Corrie characters appeared in the most episodes of 2019 - and there are certainly a few surprises! - and we finish things off with some listeners' thoughts on Corrie's b

Coversation Street Episode 397 - The Conversation Street Awards 2019
30/12/2019 Duration: 02h42minIn this special episode of the podcast, we celebrate the very best that Corrie had to offer over the past year, in the Conversation Street Awards 2019. In the last twelve months we've seen the collapse of #Kana, Gary's descent into villainy, the expansion of the Winter family and the arrival of the Baileys, as well as the heartbreaking death of Sinead, but which stories and characters did you vote as having made the biggest impression? All is revealed here! After the awards, we spend some time chatting in broader terms about 2019 as a whole for Corrie, before finishing off with some predictions for 2020.

Conversation Street Episode 396
28/12/2019 Duration: 03h09minOn this festive edition of the podcast, we chat about the episodes of Corrie shown in the UK over Christmas week, between the 23rd and the 27th December. As long time Corrie watchers, we're no strangers to a good dollop of calamity on the cobbles as December 25th rolls around, but this year saw things taken to another level, with not only two characters meeting their maker, but also Shona being left in a pretty precarious position after being hit by a stray bullet during Derek's siege. Meanwhile, it's all change at the Bistro as Michelle gives us the Christmas present we've been asking for for years by swanning off to pastures new, and Alina Pop pops back onto the street to see Seb - but who will he choose between her and Emma? In an attempt to give ourselves some kind of a Christmas break, we decided against having news and feedback sections this week, but we do manage to cobble together a character profile on Robert Preston to round off the show. We'll be back soon with the results of this year's Conversati
