Falcons and Jaguars clearly had different objectives Friday night

The Atlanta Falcons played their last preseason game of the 2024 season Friday night against the Jacksonville Jaguars, and it was a mixed result game to say the least. The Falcons lost the game 31-0, but it was not really a “fair” competition. Mostly in part to both teams having distinctly different objectives for the game. The Falcons did not play any starters in this game, nor did they play many of them in any other preseason games. They used the last preseason game to see who was going to make the team, a tryout in a sense. The Jaguars, on the other hand, did play their starters. Trevor Lawrence threw two touchdowns in the lopsided game, as it looked like the Jaguars were trying to iron out a few wrinkles in their last game against an NFL team before the season starts in two weeks. Even though the Falcons got beaten by thirty-one, they may not have been ones to take the biggest loss on Friday night… that would have been the fans.
