Carl and Mike open up the show with their thoughts on the Jalen Carter spitting incident prior to the Eagles' season opener against the Cowboys which led to him being ejected. As they discuss and acknowledge Carter apologized for his actions, they agree Carter's immaturity was on display with the incident and could have cost the Eagles the win with him being out. They then get to some Falcons talk and agree that Sunday's game with the Bucs is a must for them to jump out on Tampa and set the tone for their season.

And while they acknowledge Vea may likely still be suiting up and in action on Sunday, they agree the Falcons will need their "young guys to step up".

They then get into some Falcons talk and react to reports of Darnell Mooney once again being active at practice today and share thoughts on what their expectations are in regards to how available he will be in Sunday's opener against the Bucs. As they discuss the guys agree that while they would like to see Mooney play on Sunday, they prefer the Falcons slow role the wide receiver if need be to avoid aggravating his shoulder injury.
