27/10/2019 Duration: 13minHave you ever gotten really attached to something? A person? A place? A relationship? A job? A belief? 129 Consider It is What it is
22/10/2019 Duration: 08minHave you ever heard of the old Yiddish proverb, "Man plans, God laughs?" That's just how our lives look like sometimes, right? I usually record my podcast episodes every Monday (so that they are ready to be broadcasted on Tuesdays), but this past Monday we were celebrating a holiday. So, I planned to record this week's episode on Monday night, but I totally forgot my 8-year old had arranged his annual sleepover at our house with 10 of his friends. So, I planned to record the episode after I got the boys to sleep (which was a feat in and of itself). But, then I received a message from the boys' baseball coach that he was planning a make-up baseball session in the morning - and I thought to myself - while the boys are in their baseball class, I'll record my session in the peace and quiet of my home, rather than staying awake late at night to record it. But then, I received another message from the coach in the morning that he was up all night sick and was cancelling the baseball class. And where did that leave

128: Consider There's No Place Like Home
15/10/2019 Duration: 40minWhen was the last time you watched The Wizard of Oz? I haven't seen that movie since I was a kid. And when I did watch it, I certainly wasn't viewing it from the perspective of Getting unSTUCK. And so I decided to get the movie and do just that. If you like learning deeper understandings behind classic movies, you have to tune into this episode. I had such a fun time disentangling it and noticing what each of the main characters represent in the world of The unSTUCK Method. I'd love to hear your responses to it! As always, I look forward to getting unSTUCK with you, Shira P.S. Here is the link I reference in the movie (my Facebook page that I invite you to "like" as a birthday gift to me.) Thank you!

127: Consider Sitting in God's House
08/10/2019 Duration: 20minA friend of mine was visiting Israel and we arranged to meet up in Tel Aviv. I decided I would take the train down to see him rather than drive, as I'm not a big fan of driving. Yet, I missed the train station when I found myself totally entrenched singing a song I had just composed the day before. And I got stuck (on many, many emotions - all against myself for having missed the sign to get off the road, and of course, missing my train). Tune in to hear how I got myself unSTUCK by considering sitting in God's house (and while you're listening, please enjoy the song that I share with you). Where in your life can you consider sitting in God's house? As always, I look forward to getting unSTUCK with you.

125 Consider Taking Responsibility
24/09/2019 Duration: 19minDo you ever blame others for the way you feel? While I always aim to take responsibility for my own emotions, I sometimes slip - and that's exactly what happened this past summer when my mom and I didn't see eye to eye on something. Tune in to hear the story about how I got so stuck on confusion, frustration, and disappointment with something my mother did. And how I got unstuck (and later apologized for it) when I consider taking responsibility for my part in that story. * I want to acknowledge my dear mom for giving me permission to share this story on the Getting unSTUCK podcast. It's not always easy to share your stories with the world, but she agreed with me that this story could potentially help heal others' relationships and so she allowed me to share it with you. Thank you for tuning in and as always, I look forward to getting unSTUCK with you. Shira

124 Consider There's No Use Worrying
17/09/2019 Duration: 19minA friend of mine who was supposed to visit me this summer didn't show up when at the time we had arranged. And I got stuck on worry while he was stuck in a horrific thunderstorm storm while biking his way to me. Lightening. Thunder. Falling trees. Traffic lights out. Car accidents. I got myself unstuck when I considered there's no use in worrying - and that worrying wouldn't help the situation at all. Where in your life may you be stuck on worry and where may you be able to get unstuck from it by considering worrying won't make the situation any better? As always, I look forward to getting unstuck with you, Shira

123: I'm Writing My Next Book
10/09/2019 Duration: 07minI'm excited to share with you that I started writing my next book. While my first book is about how to get unstuck, this next book is about how to avoid getting stuck in the first place. It's also based on a method (and an acronym). I've already started using this method in my life and all I can say is, it's awesome and I can't wait to share it with you when it's complete! In the meantime, tune into this week's podcast episode to learn how you can become a part of the creation of this next book! I would love for you to join me! Exciting stuff! As always, I look forward to getting unSTUCK with you! Shira

122: Consider The Power of 3
03/09/2019 Duration: 21minHave you ever had the experience of rejecting something someone says to you, perhaps because you simply didn't want to hear it? Have you ever had the experience of having a second person try to deliver the same message? What about a third time by someone else? Tune in to this week's podcast episode and hear how I was able to get unSTUCK when I was finally able to receive the message I needed to hear - on the 3rd time. And consider where in your life you also may need to hear things a few times before it finally sinks in. As always, I look forward to getting unSTUCK with you, Shira P.S. Thank you to iTunes for recognizing this podcast once again as a "best-seller" in the mental health category. It's so nice to be acknowledged.

121: Consider There are no stupid questions
27/08/2019 Duration: 11minI was sitting at gate H15 in the Chicago airport, awaiting my flight to Turks and Caicos. The only problem was, I was the only one at the gate. But, I sat there convinced I was at the right gate because that's what the computer had told me the night before. About 15 minutes before the flight was to take off, a couple comes to the same gate and sits beside me. Should I ask if I'm at the right gate? Will I look stupid? Tune in to hear how I got unstuck (and did not miss my plane, despite the fact that I was sitting at the wrong gate) by considering there are no stupid questions. And see how you may be able to consider the same thing in your life. As always, I look forward to getting unSTUCK with you, Shira

116: Consider Doing the Right Thing
22/07/2019 Duration: 19minI recently composed a song that I sing each night to my son before he goes to sleep. I wanted to be able to sing it to him while on my visit to the States, but I didn't bring my guitar with me. So, I borrowed a guitar from a friend. Soon after picking up the guitar, I noticed a problem with one of the strings – I wasn’t sure if I damaged the guitar when I tried to tune it or if the guitar was given to me damaged. Tune in to hear how I got unstuck by considering doing the right thing. Where in your life are you stuck and where may you be able to consider doing the right thing? 115: Consider the Opposite of What Others Say
16/07/2019 Duration: 11minOver the past 5 years, when I have come in for a family visit, three family members have passed away. I was able to attend each of the funerals and periods of mourning not because I flew in from outside the country, but because I happened to have been visiting at the time of their deaths. At the most recent funeral, just a few days ago, I heard people making comments about the connection between my arrival and the family members' deaths. In fact, one person even claimed that I was bringing death with me. And as absurd as that may sound, I started believing it myself, until I got myself unstuck by considering the opposite of what others were saying to me. And it worked. Often, when we hear things enough times, we tend to start believing them. And we can therefore get stuck in beliefs that aren't even close to the truth. Where in your life can you get unstuck by considering the opposite of what you hear? This is one of the skills I teach in the Getting Unstuck Coach certification program. It's called the "flip"

114: Consider Rewriting Your Story
09/07/2019 Duration: 10minGetting unstuck is not about knowledge. I mean, it is and it isn't. The S.T.U.C.K. Method offers you a knowledge-based tool to help you go from "stuck" to "unstuck," but having a tool just isn't enough. The change we want to create in our lives requires implementation of the tool and then, of course, practice. And the more you practice, the more efficient (and the quicker you can become) at getting unstuck. Tune in to this week's story to hear how my son got himself unstuck pretty quickly, even though he was convinced he couldn't learn how to swim. Because of all the getting unstuck practice he gets at home, my son realized all he needed to do was take himself through The STUCK Method to get himself unstuck! I am grateful to have been able to teach my children (and so many other people around the world) how to get unstuck in their lives. If you are interested in learning how to help others get unstuck, please visit www.shiragura.com/certification. The Getting Unstuck Coach training program opens again soon. I

113: Consider Making a Decision
01/07/2019 Duration: 12minHave you ever felt like you were looping inside a story? As if the story were being played over and over and over again in your mind, but there was no end in sight? This happened to me recently when I started thinking about whether to stop coloring my hair or not. Yes, I know... this is not a really big important "stuck" spot. But, that's ok. Our stuck spots can range from everyday stumbles to big, complex issues. And this week, my story for you is one of the everyday stumbles kind of story, but it's meaningful nonetheless, and so I decided to share it with you. Tune in to hear how I considered making a decision to end the endless overthinking I was doing. Join me over on my Facebook page to watch me go from brunette to grey (with joy!).
