NCAA Champion Charles Hicks Turns Pro, Joins Nike Bowerman Track Club
30/06/2023 Duration: 35min"Even in the first week, it's just extremely apparent that this is the perfect environment for me. We've already done workouts that would pretty much have been impossible for me before, but I think it's just having so many World Championship Olympic quality guys in a train that I can just hop into and be a part of that just really elevates every athlete. A lot of people think you become the average of the people you spend the most time around–and these guys are just the absolute best in the world" Charles Hicks who is coming off a runner-up finish in the 10,000 meters at the 2023 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, where he finished right behind his Stanford teammate Ky Robinson. Last November, he made history as the first runner from Stanford University to win an NCAA individual cross country title. Eliud Kipchoge On What's Next After Boston Disappointment, Faith Kipyegon's Rise (Bonus: Kelly Clarkson Trivia)
27/06/2023 Duration: 13min"The six stars is still the dream. We’re still seeing what will happen but it’s still a dream." It’s been two months since Eliud Kipchoge walked off Boylston Street following a sixth-place finish at the Boston Marathon. It was a bit of a shocker for him. He, entered the weekend with 15 wins in 17 marathons and looking to check off Boston from his list of the World Marathon Majors that he has yet to win. The ideal plan would have been win Boston, win New York and then focus on becoming the first man to win three Olympic gold medals in the marathon. Not everyone gets the storybook ending. The Boston victory will have to wait. Plans for the fall have yet to be announced but are expected soon. I was invited to Kenya by the NN Running Team to get a first-hand look at how Kipchoge lives and trains in his camp in Kaptagat. I witnessed a morning workout on the track, a 40K long run, a strength session and also got to join in on an easy run. It was easy for him – not so much for me. I stayed on the heels of

CITIUS Goes To Kenya | Interview w/ NN Running Team Coach Patrick Sang On His Work With Faith Kipyegon, Eliud Kipchoge
20/06/2023 Duration: 30min"We think of ourselves as people on a journey. So when you get to your first station, that's not the end of the journey. We still have to walk some more distance. That is their mindset and it's my mindset because if I dwell on the past, then we'll end up in that station. We still have many to cover, and I’m happy that they still trust me to cover their distance and be with them." CITIUS MAG is in Kenya. I am coming to you live from Eldoret, where I had the pleasure of being invited to visit and cover some of the behind-the-scenes of how the NN Running Team trains. Coach Patrick Sang is 59 years old and is the man behind all of Kipchoge’s success on the track and the roads. He’s the runner who Eliud grew up admiring since Sang was a silver medalist in the steeplechase at the 1992 Olympics. He’s been coaching for more than half his life and is one of the most knowledgeable men in the sport. While he keeps it traditional and old-school in some of his approaches to training with three hard w

Get To Know CITIUS MAG Europe Correspondent David McCarthy + Interviews With Jakob Ingebrigtsen & His Father Gjert Ingebrigtsen
12/06/2023 Duration: 01h12min"This is a lesson to all people out there to keep the faith. Sometimes even though what you think you might want, might not be what's for you. As my mother always said to me, 'What's for you won't pass you by.' Sometimes we just need to have a little patience. And sometimes that patience can not just be weeks or months but it can be years. I've always thought I'm meant to be in the sport. I have to be in the sport. That's not being egotistical. It's good to have passionate people in this sport. That's what we need. I feel like I can bring that and I'm so grateful now that I can bring it through CITIUS." David McCarthy is CITIUS MAG’s Europe correspondent right now. We’ve had him at On Track Nights in London and Paris. He was at the Paris and Florence Diamond League. Katelyn Hutchison On One Year With CITIUS MAG + Carrying On Her Father's Positivity And Energy For Track and Field
07/06/2023 Duration: 50min"A lot of people talk about how they appreciate how supportive I am of them or how they don't understand how I can look at people and I have the utmost support and faith in you because I haven't done anything to deserve that. Well, if there's one thing my dad taught me is that you can't always look at the stats or how people appear to be on the surface. Sometimes you just know if people have it in them even though they haven't shown it yet or they don't know it yet. I'm comfortable and more than willing to show love to everybody because that's one thing that he taught me and I understood how important that was for me as someone who wants to be a professional in the future and wants to change the sport." My guest for this episode is Katelyn Hutchison. You’ve heard her on our show as a recurring analyst and I never got the chance to do a full introduction with her as a guest on the show to share some of her backstory. I’m so thankful for the career that I had. It’s led me to some of the best connections and relationships in my life. I couldn’t imagine I would’ve got this far when I started. BYU Coach Diljeet Taylor's Dedication To Her Runners' Whole Lives And Her Refreshing Approach to Coaching
09/05/2023 Duration: 48min"My advice to the younger women is: If you're passionate about this, pursue it. That's what it is. That's how it's going to change for the next generation of women to get to where I'm at now. I'm hoping that some of these younger female coaches are inspired by what we're doing at BYU and they're seeing here that she’s a mom; she's a coach; she's at a D-1, she's successful and she’s ‘kind of’ has it together, right? And hopefully, that inspires them. If she can do it, then I can do it.” My guest for this episode is Diljeet Taylor, the head women's cross-country and distance coach at BYU. 28/04/2023 Duration: 54min“Especially this year, what I want to do is be better than last year. I feel like my mentality in the fall and winter was to run better than I did last year. I’ve accomplished those goals and now for the outdoor season, I just want to win races and be one of the best in the world.” Mario Garcia Romo is a professional middle-distance runner representing Spain and the On Athletics Club. Last year was a massive season for him. He won the NCAA indoor mile title with Ole Miss and then has a disappointing showing at the NCAA Outdoor Championships but many people forgot about it when he ended up winning the Spanish 1500m title and then finished fourth at the World Championships in the 1500m in 3:30.20. It was a big personal best and he moved from seventh to fourth in the final 100 meters. He missed that bronze medal by just three-hundredths of a second. He went on to earn a bronze medal at the European Championships before
