Conversation Street Episode 375
03/08/2019 Duration: 03h44minOn our latest podcast, we chat about the episodes of Corrie broadcast in the UK between the 29th July and the 2nd August. This week - at last! - Seb discovers the horrific truth about the Sparkle Lounge being the centre of a modern slavery ring. Will he rescue Alina? Is Jan really a wrong 'un? Will Rachel, the evil manicurist, finally get nailed? There's certainly a lot to discuss with this story! Also this week, Robert does his best to keep Michelle and Vicky apart at the North-Western Scally Awards, Kate wants another withdrawal from the Bank of Dad when she gets the chance to go travelling with Imogen, and Ken does Kondo when Claudia says he needs to declutter. After Street Talk, and with Gemma's quads looming on the horizon, we take a look through the Corrie archives at all of the twins who've lived on the Street. From classic telly siblings like Steve and Andy to little known characters created by Daran Little stretching right back to the early 1900s, we leave no stone unturned in this lengthy chat, whic

Conversation Street Episode 374
27/07/2019 Duration: 02h57minOn our latest podcast, we share our thoughts on the episodes of Coronation Street broadcast in the UK between the 22nd and the 26th July. This week, Gemma gets a shock when her mum turns up at the Rovers - though that's nothing compared to the surprise that awaits Chesney the next morning after Bernie's stayed over for the night! Meanwhile, the gig's up for Steve and Tim when Tracy and Liz catch them horsing around in the Frescho car park, and Gary continues his quest to become Weatherfield's most dastardly villain ever by turning his hand to... second-hand furniture sales..? After Street Talk, we do a character profile of Chesney Brown, someone who we spent all of six minutes profiling way back in Episode 2 of the podcast. Taking a look at what he's been up to in the intervening seven years, we see whether Corrie has satisfied our request to 'do something fun with Chesney', or whether it's time he was sent to join Schmeichel on that farm in the countryside. With little in the way of news to talk about this w

Conversation Street Episode 373
20/07/2019 Duration: 03h11minIt's time for another dose of Conversation Street, and in this episode, we're chatting about the week of the 15th - 19th July. We all know that unlikely coincidences are often the backbone of soap plot progression, but this week, Corrie seemed to be playing that particular card a bit too freely. Whether it's Paula turning out to know Jan, Sarah jumping to the correct conclusion about the circumstances surrounding the factory sabotage, or, this week's biggest stretch of the imagination, Beth happening to drop exactly the evidence that Nick needs to prove his innocence right at his feet, we've certainly seen better weeks where story progression is concerned. Fortunately, there were some great comedic moments that kept us smiling, from the hilarious scenes between Roy and Evelyn to Maria's string of disastrous dates. After Street Talk, we tackle some of your listener questions, including which three Corrie characters we'd each want to be stuck on a desert island with - something that's not necessarily as easy to

13/07/2019 Duration: 02h37minOn our latest podcast, we discuss the episodes of Coronation Street shown in the UK between the 8th and the 12th July. This week saw one main storyline taking up a lot of screen time, and it just so happened to be the one that Michael was convinced last week that Corrie would be putting on hiatus for a while! But were we pleased to see more Platt family drama, and what did we make of the outcome of Nick and David's trial? Also this week, perhaps to coincide with Wimbledon, we have not only Alya and Ryan but also Eileen and Jan playing tonsil tennis, plus there's good news for Sinead at the hospital - but is she really out of the woods now? After Street Talk, we do a character profile on Alya Nazir, who, as we discover, hasn't really had a whole lot of interesting material to sink her teeth into during her five year tenure on the show, so we try to put our finger on what Corrie could do to spice her up a bit. With this week being rather slow on the old news front, we skip The Kabin and head straight into feedb

06/07/2019 Duration: 03h04minOn our latest podcast, we chat about the episodes of Coronation Street broadcast in the UK between the 1st and the 5th July. This week, Nick and David continue to scrap as their trial of issue draws nearer, with Gail and Audrey getting caught in the crossfire. Meanwhile, Geoff continues to strengthen his grip over Yasmeen by taking control of her money, whilst Carla makes a surprise financial move of her own on her return to Weatherfield. After Street Talk, we're joined by Shelley King, who chats about her five years playing Yasmeen on Corrie. We learn about the creation of her character, who on the cast most makes her laugh, and her take on the coercive control story between Yasmeen and Geoff so far. Next up, it's time for The Kabin, where we take a look at Corrie's nominations in the Inside Soap Awards, and we finish things off with a spot of feedback from our listeners. 29/06/2019 Duration: 03h23minOn our latest podcast, we dissect the episodes of Corrie broadcast in the UK between the 24th and the 28th June. This week, it seems like things are really hotting up in the Weatherfield's Next Top Villain competition, with Geoff now throwing his hat into the ring by gaslighting Yasmeen. Perhaps in retaliation, nearest competitor Gary ups the stakes further by taking over Rick's loan shark business, whilst rank outsider Robert continues his low level villainousness by going full-on with this whole double life malarkey. After Street Talk, we do our annual run down of the year so far, discussing the highs and lows of Corrie in 2019 when it comes to plot, characters and overall production. That's followed by a look at Corrie's nominations in the TV Choice Awards shortlist in the Kabin, then we round off the podcast with some of our listener's thoughts on the first half of the year, in the feedback section. 22/06/2019 Duration: 02h54minOn our latest podcast, we dig through the episodes of Coronation Street broadcast in the UK between the 17th and the 21st June. Speaking of digging, Gary gets his hands dirty this week as his descent into villainy continues, killing Rick Neelan after being jumped in the woods and burying him in a shallow grave. That's not the only hole to feature this week either, as the war through the wall rages on between Ken, Claudia and the Baileys, and a gap in Roy's back story is filled thanks to some testimony from a talkative Parrot. After Street Talk, we pay tribute to the recently deceased Irene Sutcliffe by doing a classic character profile of Maggie Clegg, before heading over to The Kabin for a spot of news. We round off the podcast with more of your listener feedback. Street Talk - 00:11:56 Classic Character Profile: Maggie Clegg - 01:47:24 The Kabin - 02:26:41 Feedback - 02:35:55

15/06/2019 Duration: 03h25minOn our latest podcast, we chat about the episodes of Coronation Street broadcast in the UK between the 7th and the 14th June. This week's big talking point is, of course, the introduction of the Bailey family at number 3. It's been a long while since a new family's moved onto the terraced side of the street, so all eyes were on Ed, Aggie, Michael and James to make a good first impression - which, in our eyes at least, they certainly did! Also this week, Leanne's bad girl side returns when she resorts to lies and larceny in an attempt to stitch David up, and Vicky returns to our screens with a couple of excellent twists that might even make for a - shock, horror! - semi-interesting Robert and Michelle story! After Street Talk, we have a special listener question section, in which we answer everything you wanted to know about our recent trip to Manchester. That's followed by rumours of some special Corrie themed postage stamps in The Kabin, then we round things off with a couple of bits of listener feedback. St

06/06/2019 Duration: 01h50minWith our schedule all over the place, this has turned out to be our third podcast in less than a week (no more for a little while, we promise!). This time, we chat about the episodes of Coronation Street broadcast in the UK between the 3rd and the 5th June. This week, Nick's in for a bit of a shock when he finds out that David's double crossed him over the ownership of the barber's, but that's nothing compared to the news received by Gemma, who - for once - is speechless when she finds out she's carrying quadruplets! Meanwhile, Norris makes a big decision about his future, and there's a new employee in the Corner Shop, who's sure to deliver service with a snarl... Next up on the podcast, we share our impressions of the Sofa Cinema Club - a new film podcast hosted by Colson Smith, Jack P Shepherd and Ben Price - then we finish off the show with some listener feedback. Conversation Street Episode 366
04/06/2019 Duration: 02h14minIn this special, stand-alone episode, we recount our trip to Manchester last weekend, where we not only got to tour behind the scenes at the Coronation Street set thanks to an invite from Charlie De Melo, but we also went along to be in the audience at the British Soap Awards! During our time at Media City, we checked out the new Victoria Street set, both inside and out, explored the sprawling interior of the police station and medical centre, visited the homes of some of our favourite characters, reclined in Speed Daal and got a selfie with Vin Diesel at A Trim Up North. And that's not all - we also learned some backstage secrets, bumped into one or two other cast members, and even got to try on a famous costume! Then at the Soap Awards following day, we snapped photos as the stars arrived on the red carpet, cheered as Corrie took home five gongs, and laughed at some hilarious acceptance speeches. It really was a weekend to remember, and now we share it with you in Episode 366!

Conversation Street Episode 365
02/06/2019 Duration: 01h59minWe've had a bit of a busy old time this weekend thanks to our trip up to Manchester, and coming back home just this evening meant that we've had to make this a very barebones podcast, sticking to only chatting about last week's episodes of Corrie. We still managed to get two hours out of it, though, what with it being the annual Britain's Got Talent week, or, to put it another way, the week where we're finally supposed to get some kind of pay-off for some of the biggest stories of the first half of the year. And what did that mean for 2019? Well, Audrey finally learns the truth about her grandsons using her stolen money to set up the barber's, but is that all Nick's guilty of? Actually, it turns out the answer could be yes, as at the climax of Friday's episode, we finally learn who it was the sabotaged the factory roof, and it was none other than Mr Nice Guy himself, Gary Windass! We hope that you enjoy hearing our thoughts about these developments and more, and that you can also wait just a little bit longer

25/05/2019 Duration: 03h39minOn our latest podcast, we chat about the episodes of Coronation Street broadcast in the UK between the 17th and the 24th May. This week, Nick's lies look set to come home to roost as the Toyah and Leanne hunt for evidence that might prove he's been up no good, and Natalie threatens to dob him in to the dibble over Audrey's stolen money. Meanwhile, things go from bad to worse for Steve at Street Cars, Sally fulfills her (newly discovered) lifelong dream of buying a horse, and Roy and Wayne part on bad terms. After Street Talk, we pay tribute to the late Andrew Hall in the Kabin, and talk over some of our memories of his time playing Marc Selby on the cobbles. Then, after a spot of feedback from our listeners - and we've actually found someone who enjoys watching Geoff, would you believe? - we go right off topic for an hour to discuss our thoughts on the final season of Game of Thrones with friends of the podcast Charlie de Melo and Georgia Taylor! Conversation Street Episode 363
16/05/2019 Duration: 02h46minWe're away this weekend, which means an early podcast, focusing on the episodes of Coronation Street shown in the UK between the 13th and the 15th May. This week, Roy returns from Portsmouth to find that Carla is on the run, but when she shows up at the cafe in a clearly disturbed state, can he convince her she can trust him? Meanwhile, Seb's Romanian romance continues to blossom, Street Cars faces competition from a tech-savvy rival, and Kirk's unique talents are spotted by a scout. After Street Talk, we go from Weatherfield to Westeros, as we chat about Corrie's links with Game of Thrones. Which actors have appeared in both shows? Which roles would we give to current cast members in a Corrie-only remake? What have been Coronation Street's Game of Throniest stories over the years? If you're a fan of both series, we hope you'll enjoy this little discussion! In The Kabin segment, we share our thoughts on some of the Corrie related nominations in the TV Choice Awards, and finish off with a bit of listener feedb

11/05/2019 Duration: 03h07minOn our latest podcast, we chat about the episodes of Coronation Street broadcast in the UK between the 6th and the 10th May. This week, we welcome back to Norris, who returns to Weatherfield after his time away with Freda and Emily - and considering his first scene included Mary dropping an urn on the floor, getting Freda in a headlock and shrieking bloody murder at the top of her voice, it's a surprise he didn't hop right back in that taxi and head straight back to Scotland. Yes, it was another iffy week on Corrie, whose other 'highlights' included Geoff being a petulent sex pest and, of course, everyone's favourite pregnant kebab slicer bunking off work. To be fair, we did quite enjoy Freda, and making Ryan one of the key players of the week was a great move, but we're certainly hoping for an improvement next week! After Street Talk, we answer a question from a listener who wants to know all about what goes on behind the scenes at Conversation Street - so if you've ever wondered what goes into creating your

Conversation Street Episode 361
04/05/2019 Duration: 02h41minIt's time for another podcast, and with Michael croaking his way through a throat infection, it's over to Gemma to do the majority of the talking, this week focusing on the episodes of Corrie broadcast between the 29th April and the 3rd May. With the mystery of who's responsible for the factory roof collapse still ongoing, all eyes were focused on Nick this week after Toyah discovered Wayne's stolen report stuffed under his mattress. Was he the fiddler on the roof, or is he really being set up? Speaking of which, Moira's trying to set herself up as a potential love interest for Jan this week - though she'll have to get through Mary first. Meanwhile, Gemma gets viewers' hopes up by promising to move away from the Street, and Sally throws a dinner party - with 'throws' being the operative word when she finds out about Tim's sneaky snacking habits. In the Kabin segment, we share our thoughts on Corrie's chances at the British Soap Awards following the shortlist reveal, and after reading out some listeners' messa

27/04/2019 Duration: 03h30minOn our latest podcast, we share our thoughts on the episodes of Coronation Street shown in the UK between the 22nd and the 26th April. After last week's disastrous caravanning story, we were pleasantly surprised by how much we enjoyed watching Gemma this week - though we're not especially happy with the latest pregnancy twist. Also this week, there's something mysterious going on between Jan and Seb's latest love interest, Peter's back on the booze, and Kirk's hitherto undiscovered musical talent rears its head. Speaking of rears, it's Windass time in the classic character profile section as we take a look back on cakemaster extrordinaire Eddie's time on the street as well as pondering what he'd be like if he came back to the show today. That's followed by The Kabin, where there's congratulations in order for ex-Corrie lovely Hayley Tamaddon. After a bunch of listener feedback, we finish off the episode with our initial reactions to some spoilery cast news in a quick Kabin Extra segment. Street Talk - 00:10:1

Conversation Street Episode 359
20/04/2019 Duration: 02h58minOn this week's podcast, we chat about the episodes of Coronation Street broadcast in the UK between the 15th and the 19th April. Happy Easter, everyone! Well, we say happy, but we must admit, we don't remember the last time we were so down on a string of Corrie episodes as we were with these ones, with the chief offending storyline being Chesney and Gemma's wet week in a caravan, which only reinforced what we've been saying for months about the pair of them being a total mismatch. Meanwhile, back in Weatherfield, Gary continues his quest to become the world's most useless loan shark, and Claudia gets snapped not clearing up after Eccles. Can we have that number for Poop Patrol Hotline please, Beth..? After Street Talk, we take a look back at the factories of Weatherfield, from Hardcastle's Mill right up to Underworld, and chat about some of our favourite storylines over the years - as well as our least favourite factory story cliches. That's followed by a quick trip to The Kabin for some news before finshing

13/04/2019 Duration: 03h33minIn our latest episode of the podcast, we talk about the episodes of Coronation Street broadcast in the UK between the 8th and the 12th April. This week, Carla's breakdown is in full force as she starts to believe that Rana is still alive thanks to a cruel trick from Alya. Meanwhile, Gary's put in an uncomfortable position by Rick when he's ordered to sign a vulnerable old woman up for a dodgy loan, and watch out Gordon Ramsey - Weatherfield's got its own hot-tempered chef in the form of Imran. After Street Talk, we're thrilled to be joined by Corrie director Matt Hilton, who speaks about what it's like working behind the scenes of our favourite soap. That's followed by a discussion of this year's British Soap Awards longlist in The Kabin, then a handful of emails and voice messages in the feedback section. We finish off the podcast with a Kabin Extra section, where we share our first impressions of last weekend's casting news. 06/04/2019 Duration: 02h34minOn our latest podcast, we talk about the episodes of Coronation Street broadcast in the UK between the 31st March and the 5th April. This week, Carla seems to be becoming even more unstable than the factory roof was, as she confesses to knowing it was dangerous during Rana's memorial. Meanwhile, Chesney starts to realise that he may have made a mistake swapping Emma for Gemma, Brian doesn't see the funny side of Geoff's practical jokes, and Gina saves Tim's life when he suffers a minor heart attack - thanks, Gina... After Street Talk, we interview Kat Pearce, aka Kate's nutty friend Lolly, who shares some behind the scenes secrets about her time on the show and picks a pair of winners in our #Kana Klothing Kompetition. In the news section, we take a look at this year's April Fool's gag from Corrie and share the first info about Maggie Sullivan's new 1940s novel, before finishing off with more of your listener feedback. 30/03/2019 Duration: 03h22minOn our latest podcast, we chat about the episodes of Coronation Street broadcast in the UK between the 24th and the 29th March. The dust may have settled in Underworld following last week's roof collapse, but outside the factory, the drama's only just beginning, with a number of street residents doing their best to hide just how much they might be to blame for the disaster. With the case being thoroughly investigated by an all growed up Wayne Hayes, though, is it only a matter of time before the truth comes out? Also this week, there's another returning face in the form of dodgy loan shark Rick Neelan, Imran struggles to hold it together in the wake of his sister's death, and there's a breakthrough in mystery of Roy's ring. After Street Talk, we take a look back on the past three years of Rana Habeeb with a character profile, before heading over to The Kabin for a spot of BAFTA related news. We round things off with more of your thoughts on the factory disaster in the listener feedback sectcion. Street Talk -
