Conversation Street Episode 500
11/12/2021 Duration: 02h56minOn the 500th edition of Conversation Street, we chat about what went down on the cobbles in the week of the 6th to the 10th December (Episodes #10,500 - 10,505). This week, Daniel is faced with the prospect of his teaching career being over before it's barely even begun when Max publicly accuses him of being in an affair with Summer at the Sixth Form Ice Ball. Meanwhile, fans of Phill's mummy Mimi (and we'd DEFINITELY include ourselves in that bracket!) were in for a treat this week as she organises a birthday bash for her boy in the Bistro - but will he stand up to her when she starts bad-mouthing Fiz? Elsewhere on the Street, Hashim turns up the heat on Zeedan in the wake of the Speed Daal fire, Amy's university aspirations risk putting a dampener on Emma's increasingly extravagant wedding plans, and Corrie's Grace period is over as Ed and Aggie convince her to leave Weatherfield for good. Up next on the podcast, we take a look at what Simon Gregson's been up to in I'm A Celeb and celebrate Corrie's clean s

Sue Devaney Interview
08/12/2021 Duration: 34minThis week, we're publishing the 500th episode of the podcast, and to help us celebrate, we invited actress Sue Devaney onto the show for a chat! Though her character, Debbie Webster, first appeared on the Street for a 7-month period in the mid-80s, it's her current stint in the role for which she'll be best remembered. The hot-headed hotelier with a penchant for pendant earrings, Debbie Webster is currently one of our favourite characters on the show, so it was a real pleasure to chat to Sue - we hope you enjoy it! You can watch a video of the interview over on our YouTube channel here: https://youtu.be/QeSE4IArIiQ

Conversation Street Episode 499
04/12/2021 Duration: 03h33minOn our latest podcast, we have a natter about the episodes of Coronation Street broadcast in the UK between the 29th November and the 3rd December (Episodes #10494 - 10499). We've been talking about the possibility of Curtis having factitious disorder for about three months now, and this week, it's finally confirmed that this is indeed what's behind his suspicious behaviour of late. We start the Street Talk segment by chatting about what we've been learning about this condition over the past few days, and ponder what it could mean for Emma as she prepares to marry the man of her dreams. Also this week, Grace makes an offer that Aggie finds hard to refuse, Daniel remains blissfully ignorant of Summer's blatant crush on him, and Zeedan's feeling the heat from Hashim. Next up on the podcast, we take a trip to The Kabin, where we take a look at the Corrie Christmas schedule (and do our best to restrain ourselves from going on *too* much of a rant about some of the episodes being uploaded early to the Hub), and we

Coronation Street In The 00s Part 1:2000 - 2004
30/11/2021 Duration: 01h39minThis one's been a long time coming, but we've finally made it through to the midway point of the first decade of the new millennium. This period in the Street's history saw a rise in the number of issues-based stories, such as Sarah-Louise's pregnancy and Internet stalker, as well as some well remembered darker moments, like the Richard Hillman saga, the Freshco's siege and Alma's tragic demise. Despite all this though, there was still a lot to laugh about - who can forget Les and Cilla falling through the ceiling in their bathtub or Jack's turn as a member of the women's bowls team? We hope you enjoy listening to us reflecting on the period - both the highs and the lows.

Conversation Street Episode 498
27/11/2021 Duration: 02h56minIn our latest podcast, we chat about the episodes of Corrie shown in the UK between the 22nd and the 26th November (Episodes #10488 - 10493). This week, the burden of covering up for Abi and Nina gets too heavy for Roy and he disappears from Weatherfield. Is this just a temporary break for him, or has the Street institution really buttered his last barmcake? Also this week, Faye gets her freedom after being released on bail, George and Abi employ somewhat different techniques to try and convince Sam to start talking again, and Kelly spices up her life after crossing paths with a local drug dealer. Up next on the podcast, we celebrate Corrie's recents wins at the Inside Soap Awards, and we round things off with more of your listener feedback. Listener Questions
25/11/2021 Duration: 01h03minFor this week's bonus podcast, we've done another listener question segment! First up, with Thanksgiving on our American listeners' minds this week, we've been asked which characters we'd invite for a Thanksgiving dinner, what dish they'd bring, and what they'd be thankful for. Lots to get our teeth into there! Next up, we've got a question that's right up Michael's street: which ex-Coronation Street actor should take over the role of the Doctor from Jodie Whittaker in Doctor Who?

Conversation Street Episode 497
20/11/2021 Duration: 02h40minOn our latest podcast, we chat about the episodes of Corrie shown in the UK between the 16th and the 19th November (Episodes #10482 - 10487). Operation 'Get The Viewers To Feel Sorry For Kelly' continues this week, as the controversial ex-con falls on hard times, sleeping on the streets, bin diving for cold pizza and attracting the attentions of a creepy letch at Chariot Square. Meanwhile, it's the week of Johnny's funeral and Jenny's struggling to keep it together - though a surprise inheritance of 20 grand is always good to soften the blow! Also this week, surprise returns for Faye and Ray, Max's film project gets Summer worried she might lose her chance of a place at Oxford, and Sam continues to be one of our favourite characters of the week without uttering a single word. Up next, it's The Kabin, where a sneak preview of next week's Inside Soap Awards brings good news for Corrie, and we round things off with a bit of feedback. Sally Ann Matthews Interview
18/11/2021 Duration: 37minAs you know, we're massive Jenny Connor fans here on Conversation Street, and this week, we thought it was about time we invited Sally Ann Matthews back on the podcast to chat about how life on the cobbles has been for her since taking over as Rovers landlady. Losing a husband, gaining a step-daughter, sinkhole dramas, drunk acting and of course, THAT tasering scene with Sharon... We have a good old natter about all this and more, in this week's bonus show! Sal's currently raising money for five fantastic causes with 50 5K runs. If you'd like to send a bit of cash her way, her fundraising site is open until the end of November here: https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/fundraiser-display/showROFundraiserPage?userUrl=SallyAnnMatthews&pageUrl=1

Conversation Street Episode 496
12/11/2021 Duration: 03h13minWith the Weatherfield week ending on Wednesday this week, we're coming at you a little earlier with our latest podcast, which covers the goings on in Coronation Street between the 8th and the 10th November (Episodes #10476 - 10481). Not only that, but with Michael testing positive for COVID on Tuesday night and subsequently isolating from Gemma, we've also had to be a bit creative with how we've watched Corrie and recorded the podcast this week, so apologies for the sound quality not being up to its usual standard! That all aside, we actually quite enjoyed this week's Corrie - although with all the overlapping of stories going on (we're looking at YOU, Kelly, Aadi and Summer!) we admit we did find it was a bit of a tricky Street Talk segment to manage at times! As we predicted, the Street residents seem to have forgotten their environmental principles just as quickly as they developed them this week, with not a hint of the Red Red bypass story getting a mention; instead, the main action seemed to have revolve

Squid Game: Corrie Style!
08/11/2021 Duration: 01h22minIf there's one thing that a lot of Corrie viewers can agree on, it's that the show could do with a bit of a good old fashioned soap cull at the moment. And how better to trim the fat than by pitting a bunch of our least favourite characters against each other in a series of brutally reimagined British playground games? 30 characters enter the arena, and only one will make it through alive - who'll be keeping George in business for many weeks to come, and which lucky contestant will be the sole survivor? Find out in Coronation Street: Squid Game!

Conversation Street Episode #495
06/11/2021 Duration: 02h44minOn our latest podcast, we chat about the episodes of Coronation Street shown in the UK between the 1st and the 5th November (#10470 - 10474). It's the week of Abi and Kevin's wedding, but after Debbie finds out about her sister-in-law-to-be's murderous intentions for Corey, it looks like there could be a couple of roadblocks they need to get past before this pair of mechanics can give each other a good servicing. Speaking of roadblocks, it all kicks off outside the Community Centre this week when Maria decides to protest the council meeting about the new by-pass through the Red Rec. Bring back Emily and Spider, we say - they'd be able to get this mess sorted in no time! Also this week, Emma's engaged and Corey gets caged. Up next on the podcast, we share some good news about Coronation Street: The Tour, which looks set to re-open in the Spring, bigger and better than ever, and we round off the show with more of your listener feedback. Street Talk - 00:11:11 The Kabin - 02:16:03 Feedback - 02:26:11

Corrie / EastEnders Crossover Chat with Walford Weekly
03/11/2021 Duration: 42minOn our latest show, in celebration of the crossovers that we're seeing this week between all the UK soaps, we've teamed up with Alex and Rob from Walford Weekly for a special bonus podcast. For the past week, we've been diligently tuning into EastEnders whilst they've been catching up with the latest goings on in Corrie, and in this podcast, we get together to talk about how we found the experience! As well as sharing our thoughts about the characters and storylines in each other's soaps of choice, we chat about how we felt the crossover scenes have gone so far and discussed the future of the genre in this ever-changing television landscape.

Conversation Street Episode 494
30/10/2021 Duration: 02h39minOn the latest Conversation Street, we chat about all things Corrie from the week of the 25th to the 29th October (Episodes #10464 - 10469) It's the calm after the storm in Weatherfield, and this week, the residents are all facing the consequences of Harvey and the Horror Nation Hurricane. While Jenny's drowning her sorrows and looking for someone to blame (looks like, unlike Natasha, the Platts have dodged a bullet there!), the Alahan clan has been torn apart after last week's car crash. Top of the tragedies this week, though, is Natasha's death. People are saying that Johnny's untimely demise was a little heavily telegraphed in the episodes leading up to Super Soap Week, but seriously - have we not all seen this coming for Natasha since the minute she set foot back on the cobbles last year with a new son for Nick? Also this week, Nina and Asha go searching for more clues to incriminate Corey, and it looks like by the end of Friday's episode, it could well be in the bag! Up next on the podcast, we take a trip

Conversation Street Episode 493 Part 2
23/10/2021 Duration: 01h11minIn this special edition of the podcast, recorded on location from our holiday home in Dorset, we chat (very quietly so not to wake Gemma's parents!) about the epic episodes of Coronation Street that were broadcast in the UK on the 22nd October. The bar had been set high and our disbelief had been well and truly suspended following Monday and Wednesday's episodes, and we settled down in front of the telly on Friday night, full of anticipation about what the climax of the week would bring. Yes, we may well have predicted some of the major story beats (namely, Natasha being shot in a case of mistaken identity and Johnny coming to a sticky end whilst trying to rescue Jenny), but we were still left incredibly satisfied by the episodes on the whole, and majorly impressed by everything that went into the scenes underground - scripting, stunts, sets and all. We hope you enjoy listening to our discussion of the episodes!

Conversation Street Episode 493
20/10/2021 Duration: 01h53minIt's Super Soap Week, and that can only mean one thing: total carnage on the cobbles as Horror Nation Street kicks off in spectacular style. This episode of the podcast comes at you a few days earlier than usual as we wouldn't have been able to record our normal episode over the weekend. Never mind, though, as there's been absolutely loads to talk about from just the first two days of the week anyway! Sinkholes opening up all over the place, the Alahans in a spectacular stunt en route to their camping holiday, and a crazed criminal on the loose, hell bent on revenge... We know this is a bit of a divisive week, but we're loving it, so if you'll forgive our unabashed gushing, we do hope you'll rather enjoy this episode!

Conversation Street Episode 492
16/10/2021 Duration: 03h04minOn our latest podcast, we chat about the episodes of Coronation Street shown in the UK between the 11th and the 15th October (Episodes #10452 - 10457). Unless you've been living under some kind of spoiler-repellent rock these past few weeks (and if you are, can you tell us where we might find one?), you'll know that there's a pretty hyped up set of episodes coming very soon, and this week's Corrie certainly seemed like everything was lining up nicely for some action packed shows next week. It definitely feels like George and Todd could be busy at the undertaker's by next Friday night, but whether it's Corey having his brains blown out by Abi, Toyah being pummelled to death by Harvey, Natasha being pushed into the sinkhole by an old biddy who can't get her blue rinse done anymore or even lovely Johnny just ending up as some kind of collateral damage, we'll just have to wait and see, but in any case, this week's episodes did a pretty good job in getting us hyped! Just... please don't mention the identify of Imr

Imran Habeeb Character Profile
12/10/2021 Duration: 01h10minFor this week's bonus podcast, we take an in depth look at the character of Imran Habeeb. He's been a bit of a fan favourite since his introduction back in 2017, and in this episode, we weigh up the evidence and give our verdict on the street's latest ladykiller lawyer. Is he a good match for Toyah? Would we want him defending us in court? Can we forgive his steadily growing list of indiscretions? All this and more are answered here!

Conversation Street Episode 491
09/10/2021 Duration: 02h51minOn this week's podcast, we have a good old natter about the episodes of Coronation Street shown in the UK between the 4th and the 8th October (Episodes #10446 - 10451). It's the Corrie curry cook-off this week when Debbie decides to set the Bistro in direct competition with Speed Daal. That's not the only thing Zeedan has to worry about either, as he's paid an unwelcome visit from one of the in-laws on Friday, which threatens to make things a whole lot worse for the business. Meanwhile, Kevin's hunt for Abi takes him to the Dog & Gun, Summer resorts to unscrupulous measures in an attempt to get herself an interview for Oxford, and Fergus is recruited into the Sally Army in the battle for residents-only parking. Up next on the podcast, we head to The Kabin, where we're joined for a chat by Katherine Wells and Caroline Austen, the lucky pair who managed to snag themselves an exclusive overnight stay on the cobbles last weekend, courtesy of AirBnB. We round off the podcast, as always, with more of your fabul

Steven Murphy Interview
06/10/2021 Duration: 49minEarlier this year, Steven Murphy left his role of editor of Inside Soap Magazine after nearly 25 years at the publication, and for our bonus show this week, he's kindly agreed to come onto the podcast to chat about how working in the magazine industry has changed over the years, what he thinks makes soap such an enduring medium, and who some of his favourite Corrie characters have been. It was a real privilege to chat to someone who's such an expert in the field of soap and find out what it's like behind the scenes of the magazine - we hope you enjoy!
