Conversation Street Episode #522
14/05/2022 Duration: 03h16minOn our latest podcast, we chat about what went down in Weatherfield between the 9th and the 13th May 2022 (Episodes #10634 - 10639). Last week's relatively enjoyable Aggie story sees a change in protagonist this week, as Peter finds out the extent of Mr Thorne's unprofessionalism regarding his liver transplant and vows to make him pay. Meanwhile, after Abi overhears Ben arranging a shady deal on the phone, she takes the opportunity to make him confess to lying in court - are Imran's days as a solicitor numbered? Also this week, Tyrone (along with the rest of us!) get jealous of Fiz's new house, Kirk finds the pressure of life on the sales team too much to handle and Aaron scarpers when Summer overshares about her body image hang-ups. Up next on the show, we celebrate the news that Corrie got a BAFTA - but why was it consigned to a tiny clip on the TV broadcast of the event? That's followed by some opposing views about Abi vs Toyah in the feedback section, and we end the podcast with yet another spoilery disc

The Weddings of Weatherfield Part 2
10/05/2022 Duration: 01h22minIn this second part of our discussion about Corrie's best weddings, we reminisce over some of the most memorable ceremonies we've seen on the show over the years. From the romantic nuptials of Elsie and Steve Tanner to the outrageous antics of Les and Cilla, Coronation Street viewers have been treated to all sorts of ceremonies over the years - and not all of them have gone quite to plan either! So take a trip down memory lane as we chat about our favourite Weatherfield weddings!

Conversation Street Episode 521
07/05/2022 Duration: 03h08minOn our latest podcast, we have a jolly good old chinwag about what went on on the cobbles between the 2nd and the 6th May 2022 (Episodes #10628 - 10633). Our monkey's paw wish really did come true this week, as podcast favourites Toyah and Imran get spliced. As the week ended and baby Alfie came home to live with them, it seems like everything's going great for Mr and Mrs Battersbeeb (we refuse to call them anything else!), but with Toyah still blissfully ignorant of the lengths Imran went to in order to secure custody of his son, it's only a matter of time before things hit the fan big time... Also this week, Aggie has a bit of a thorny situation to contend with at her new job, Stu gets into a spot of bother when out getting supplies for Yasmeen's Eid stall, and Kirk and George compete for who can make the loudest, most irritating noise on the street! In the Kabin, we ponder what the new pricing options for the Corrie set tour could mean for the upcoming expansion of the experience, and after reading out som

The Weddings of Weatherfield Part 1
03/05/2022 Duration: 01h23minAs another happy couple tie the knot on Corrie this week, we thought it was about time we dedicated an entire episode to chatting about the weddings of Weatherfield past. That turned out to be quite a big job, though, so we've ended up splitting the topic over two weeks! In this part, we take a look at some wedding related stats for Weatherfield, and comparing them to some numbers we've found for the real world. Which characters have been up the aisle the greatest number of times? Which months are most popular for Corrie characters to get spliced - and when's most common for weddings to get called off partway through? What have been the most commonly used venues for weddings in recent years, and how far back do we have to go to find one that actually took place in a church and went without a hitch, so to speak? We take a look at all this and more, so get your biggest hat on, pour yourself a glass of bubbly, and enjoy the first part of our discussion on the weddings of Weatherfield!

Conversation Street Episode 520
30/04/2022 Duration: 02h49minOn our latest podcast, we chat about the episodes of Corrie shown in the UK between the 25th and the 29th April (Episodes #10622-10627). All in all, it was a pretty good Corrie week, we thought, with a good mix of drama, comedy that was actually funny, soppy romantic scenes and characters having a good old gossip about someone else. As Daniel spectacularly fails to apologise for accusing Daisy of revealing Nicky's secret past this week, the guilt of being a nasty little scrote is starting to really weigh on Max - though we reckon there were still a lot of viewers wincing as he got himself a very nasty injury on Friday's episode! Also this week, George's big secret is revealed, Toyah gets tiddly at her hen do, and Jacob continues to prove what an asset he is to the show - and not just by making Simon look like a complete plank either! Up next on the podcast, it's time for the news, and we ponder over whether it's a good idea for Corrie to have a new product placement on the show - this time, Heineken 0.0! Aft

Doreen Lostock Character Profile
26/04/2022 Duration: 41minFor this week's bonus podcast, we take a look at the character of Doreen Lostock, one of the original 'barm cake girls' from 1961, and who, along with Sheila Birtles, helped inject a shot of youthful energy into early original Corrie cast. Whether she was out chasing boys, dancing the twist with the volume up in the Corner Shop flat or getting into scrapes with a young Emily Nugent at Gamma Garments, Doreen was never short on energy, which is why, though only lasting on the show for a few years, she's fondly remembered by so many viewers of Corrie's early episodes.

Conversation Street Episode #519
23/04/2022 Duration: 02h44minOn our latest podcast, we chat about the episodes of Coronation Street shown in the UK between the 18th and the 22nd April (Episodes #10616 - 10621). This week, Nicky's career in education is over almost before it begins thanks to Max spreading pictures of her from her time as a cardigan wearer for hire around the school. Meanwhile, Ed makes an interesting discovery under Rick's floorboards, Imran struggles to resist the urge to play dirty when trying to unearth evidence that Abi's back on drugs, and Summer's diabulimia nearly causes her to loses her life - and, even more importantly, her place at Oxford! Up next on the podcast, it's The Kabin, where we chat about this ITV's fascinating celebration of 90 years of Bill Roache and take a look at who's nominated in the British Soap Awards this year. We finish off the podcast with more of your listener feedback. Street Talk - 00:07:36 The Kabin - 01:58:01 Feedback - 02:19:36

Emma Brooker Character Profile
19/04/2022 Duration: 59minThis week's bonus podcast is a character profile of Emma Brooker, who sadly jetted out of Weatherfield for pastures new on the other side of the world earlier this month. Thanks to her bubbly personality, sweet naivety and unwitting comic timing, Emma soon became a firm favourite of many a Corrie viewer, but did she end up getting a bit too much tragedy thrown at her towards the end of her time on the show? We discuss all this and more, including our favourite Emma moments, the inevitable Raquel comparisons and the unusual story behind how she became an extra branch on the McDonald family tree.

Conversation Street Episode #518
16/04/2022 Duration: 02h46minOn our latest podcast, we chat about the episodes of Corrie shown in the UK between the 11th and the 15th April (Episodes #10610 to 10615). Pick a side, everyone, because the battle for custody of Alfie is properly underway this week, and it ain't looking pretty. With unexpected alliances to underhand tactics aplenty, we're not sure anyone's going to come out of this one looking good, but we're certainly enjoying the ride - as difficult as it might be for us to see three of our favourites at each other's throats! Also this week, Kelly struggles to come to terms with her parents' deaths, Billy and Amy grow increasingly concerned over Summer's relentless revision, and school dogsbody Daniel finds himself roped into organising yet another event that really shouldn't be anything to do with him - needs must when the staff lists seems to consist solely of a deputy head, an English teacher and newly hired TA, eh? In The Kabin, we celebrate the return of the British Soap Awards but have some concerns over some of the

Kel Allen Interview
13/04/2022 Duration: 52minLast week, we saw poor Laura Neelan shuffle off this mortal coil, taking Gary's secret about being responsible for Rick's death to her grave. This week, we chatted to the actress who played Laura, Kel Allen, about her two years on the show, including last year's courtroom drama, playing opposite Millie Gibson and Mikey North and, of course, those harrowing scenes last week when Our Kelly got to the hospital just too late to say goodbye to her mum... Conversation Street Episode 517
09/04/2022 Duration: 02h26minOn our latest podcast, we chat about the comings and goings in Weatherfield between the 4th and the 8th April (Episodes #10604 - 10609). Sad times this week, as we say goodbye to two great characters - one going Down Under, the other heading six feet under. Emma's time on Corrie has been relatively short but saccharine sweet - was her trip to Oz with brainless scarecrow Jon a fitting exit? Meanwhile, as Laura shuffles off this mortal coil, we have to concede that she's definitely not faking this whole cancer thing - which, to be fair, has definitely crossed our minds more than once over the course of this story! Also this week, more thrilling chesscapades for Sam, Toyah's hopes for adopting Elsie solo are dashed, and Number 9 loses its Fiz. Next up on the podcast, we take a trip to The Kabin, where we get more than a little bit excited at the prospect of an upcoming Granada exhibit up in Manchester, then we round off the show with more of your fabulous feedback. Listener Questions
06/04/2022 Duration: 01h12minThis week's bonus podcast is another listener questions segment! First up, with the second Downton Abbey movie releasing later this month, Clara wants to know which Coronation Street characters we'd cast in our own Downton-style period drama, and which types of role they'd be given. From the lord and lady of the manor down to the humble servants, we ponder who'd fit where, and what sort of stories might be thrown at them. Next up, Byron asks us about issues-based storylines on Coronation Street, specifically which stories have raised most awareness and had the biggest effect on people's views. We chat about the power that soap has to influence people's opinions, look for tangible examples of where Corrie has brought about change in society, and even share a few interesting stories about soaps from around the world that were commissioned specifically to educated viewers about big local issues.

Conversation Street Episode 516
02/04/2022 Duration: 02h41minOn our latest podcast, we chat about the episodes of Coronation Street shown in the UK between the 28th March and the 1st April (Episodes #10598 - 10603). We don't know about you, but we've been particularly enjoying Corrie this past month or so, and this week was no exception. After last Friday's fantastic twist that saw Laura taking the rap for hubby Rick's murder, this week it's her job to try and convince the police - and with DS Beckett holding a long standing grudge against the true culprit, Gary Windass, she's going to have to hope the cops dig up some pretty conclusive evidence against her at the Weathy County development... Meanwhile, after Abi's care hearing for Alfie doesn't go well, Imran vows to do whatever it takes to avoid losing his secret son... but can he keep the truth from Toyah? Also this week, Tim gets the go-ahead from the doctor to spent some 'quality time' with Sally, Billy worries that Summer's working herself too hard in the run up to her exams, and Emma and Jon.. well, they clearl

Conversation Street Episode 515
26/03/2022 Duration: 02h11minOn our latest episode of the podcast, we share our thoughts on the goings on on the Street between the 21st and the 25th March 2022 (Episodes #10592 - 10597). This week, Adam follows in his grandfather's footsteps by being the latest Barlow to end up in hospital after being pushed from a height as the story with him, Sarah and Lydia comes to a climax. Speaking of which, Tim's ready to pop this week as he eagerly awaits the go ahead from the love doctor (well, heart doctor..) to get intimate with Sally. Meanwhile, Election Day comes for Maria, Faye finds herself once again accidentally up the duff, and Laura makes the ultimate sacrifice after learning the truth about Rick's demise. There are a couple of small news items to cover in The Kabin this week, including Corrie's nominees for the TRIC Awards, and we round off the podcast with some listener feedback. Our Weekend In Manchester
22/03/2022 Duration: 01h14minLast weekend, we took a trip up north to Manchester for two days of Corrie themed goodness. During our time there, we enjoyed a play at the Hope Mill Theatre starring Sally Ann Matthews, had a drink with Charlie de Melo and Millie Gibson and took a turn about the set on the Coronation Street Tour. An all round fab weekend, and we hope you enjoy hearing about our experience!

Conversation Street Episode 514
19/03/2022 Duration: 02h26minOn our latest podcast, we share our thoughts on the goings on in Weatherfield between the 14th and the 18th March (Episodes #10586 - 10591). After twists and turns of last week's Corrie, were they able to keep up the momentum this week? On the whole, we'd say yes. The Abi/Imran/Toyah story, which continued to take the lion's share of the screen time, still gripped us as we continued to feel sympathy for each of the main players - despite the fact that some of their actions were definitely morally questionable.. Speaking of which, we were pleasantly surprised to see the return of Grace this week, who makes a flying visit to the Street to stir up a bit more trouble for the Baileys. Meanwhile, Nicky puts on her tightest leather trousers for her TA job interview, Amy and Jacob go public with their relationship, and Dr Gaddas returns with a funky new hairstyle as Laura's condition continues to deteriorate. There wasn't a whole lot in terms of big news this week, so we decided to give The Kabin a swerve, and instea

The Changing Sets Of Coronation Street
15/03/2022 Duration: 01h40minFrom its humble beginnings as a row of flimsy wooden house fronts crammed into a tiny Granada studio to the vast expanse used today at MediaCity, Coronation Street has changed an awful lot in the past sixty years. The row of terraced houses with a shop at one end and the Rovers Return at the other is just as recognisable as ever, but beyond that, the street is worlds away from what the show runners could have ever conceived of back in 1960. In this discussion, we chat about the evolution of the external sets over the years, tracking the buildings that came and went, roads that were lengthened and (in the case of Rosamund Street) massively shortened, and other changes that viewers have seen come and go. If you'd like to see some pictures to go along with this discussion, take a look at some of the ones we used as reference here: shorturl.at/erDP3

Conversation Street Episode 513
12/03/2022 Duration: 03h09minOn our latest podcast, we chat about the episodes of Coronation Street shown in the UK between the 6th and the 11th March (Episodes #10579 - 105785). Corrie's new schedule got off to a cracking start this week, with our favourite week of episodes so far in 2022. It's taken a little while to get here, but it feels like Abi's surprise baby and the inevitable consequences for Kevin, Imran and Toyah will be the first 'big' story of the year, and we can't wait to find out what happens next. Also this week, Leanne arranges some clandestine chess sessions between Sam and Roy after Nick decides his son is getting a little too obsessed, Nicky returns to Weatherfield with a career change that sees her moving from the bedroom to the classroom, and, not content with living with the daughter of the man he bludgeoned to death, Gary invites Rick's ex-wife to move in chez Windass too - what could possibly go wrong? Up next on the podcast it's a fairly lengthy Kabin segment with only one item on the agenda: the newly announce

Abi Webster Character Profile
08/03/2022 Duration: 01h32minThis week's bonus podcast is a character profile of everyone's favourite drug addled, gun toting, neglectful mother - it's Abi Webster! Since the moment she stepped onto the street back in late 2017, we've been huge fans of this funny, feisty but flawed character. Abi's has barely been off our screens since becoming a Corrie regular, and we've loved (almost!) every minute - and had a great time discussing the manic mechanic's highest of highs and very low lows.

Conversation Street Episode 512
05/03/2022 Duration: 02h04minOn our latest podcast, we chat about the goings on in Weatherfield between the 28th February and the 4th March (Episodes #10574 - 10577). Although the new schedule doesn't officially start until the 7th, we got a taster of it this week, with two hour-long episodes of Corrie on Monday and Friday, the first of which focused mainly on the Winter-Brown story and the second on scheming Lydia's machinations. Both plots had some classic soap moments this week, with Chesney's race to stop Joseph emigrating to Portugal ending in a lovely scene filmed at Manchester Airport (more location shooting like this, please, Corrie!) and Sarah going down the tried and tested wronged woman route of chucking Adam's clothes onto the street from a great height. Meanwhile, Abi looks set to fall off the wagon again, Emma makes a risky decision in the romance department, and Brian has itchy feet after a break in the West Country. Next up it's The Kabin, and with not a whole lot in the way of Corrie news out there this week, Gemma takes
