BC Interruption Talks With WZBC's TJ Hartnett: Birdball's In The Tournament!
02/06/2016 Duration: 24minFor the first time since 2009, Boston College baseball made the NCAA Tournament. Earlier in the year, we talked with Mike Lananna of Baseball America about what it would take for the Eagles to become one of the 64 best teams in the nation. A few months later, we've found the answer to that question as Birdball heads to Oxford, MS to take on Tulane in the first round on Friday. From the word go, WZBC's TJ Hartnett's had a front row seat to the Birdball season. He sits down with our Dan Rubin, who's also been there from the beginning, to talk about the Eagles, breaking down their pitching, their offense, what makes them dangerous, and how they'll adapt to playing at Ole Miss. They also talk about the team's adaptation to the new media coverage and how this can lead to a new day of BC Birdball in the mainstream. The Eagles take on Tulane in the NCAA First Round, then face either the winner or loser of the Ole Miss-Utah game. It's heralded as one of the toughest regionals in the nation, but BC is very much a pa

Boston College Basketball: Get Ready For The Hardwoord!
12/11/2015 Duration: 49minComing off the Steve Donahue era, the Boston College Eagles were a team last year in search of an identity. With old players shoehorned into a new system, the team endured growing pains en route to a four-win improvement over the season prior. Unfortunately, though, the end result was a 13-19 record, their fourth straight sub-.500 season. Year Two has a decidedly different feel to things after the team underwent an overhaul. Junior Olivier Hanlan departed for the professional ranks, drafted this past spring by the Utah Jazz. Now playing for Zalgiris Kaunas in Lithuania, Boston College will need to find a new go-to scorer to replace the ACC's best shooter a year ago. To start the year, it looks like Eli Carter will provide that spark. A transfer guard from Florida, Carter will be the lynchpin and sparkplug to the BC offense in 15-16. It's the biggest switch in the new-look Eagles, who return only a couple of key cogs from last year. Idy Diallo, injured a year ago, will see the court for the first time in mar

Eastern Bias Live: Hockey Takes Over On Wednesday Night!
05/11/2015 Duration: 01h54minWith football season winding down, the attention of many are already pointing their eyes at the frozen water of Conte Forum, where Boston College hockey begins its search for a sixth national championship. One month into the season, it's been eventful for the Eagles, having lost as many players as they have games (one apiece). At 5-1, Boston College is a top five team in the nation, riding the crest of being one of the power schools of Hockey East. Along with UMass-Lowell and defending national champion Providence, the trio represent the potential next batch of teams ready to represent in Tampa this year in the postseason. But it's still early, and there's going to be bumps along the way. One of those bumps came last week when Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Jeremy Bracco departed BC after just one month month as a member of the Eagles. It set off a firestorm of opinions on message board and social media, and it prompted possibly the most emotional response anyone's ever heard out of the Eagles and their head

Boston College Football Week 8: Louisville Cardinals
21/10/2015 Duration: 58minA few short weeks ago, Boston College was 3-1 on the season. The main questions about the team didn't center on if they would ever win again; it instead asked how the newer players would be brought along to score points and get the team on the move as competition leveled off after Florida State. Teams like Wake Forest and Duke were on the horizon, keeping expectations around what fans considered normal. Now sliding after a three-game losing streak, the Eagles are 3-4 with offensive points at a premium. They deconstructed and began reconstructing on the fly, with Jeff Smith named quarterback this past week. As players start to come back, the Eagles are improving, but the fear now is that the learning curve's gradient is too steep for them to consistently win football games. Boston College now heads to Louisville facing questions on if they can win a football game. They took strides forward against the Clemson Tigers and played better. There were definite improvements in the Eagle game. But even though they h
