Mike Edelman joins us on our 50th episode!! Mike is a local blacksmith who in the past few months has written a book Experiments in Blacksmithing  and started a fantastic jewelry line called Ladies of Iron ; bold jewelry for bold women.  Mike is a contemporary blacksmith where the emphasis is on the artist and creative use of the medium. He is best known for creating unique high quality metalwork all one of a kind and hand-made by the artist. Frostburg's new main street manager joins us on todays show! Jessica a Frostburg native is able to express all of the amazing things this town has to offer and all of the exciting new events on the horizon. We discuss the partnership between the city and Frostburg State University for the new mural project as well as the annual Story Book Event. Dr. Matthew Allaway is featured on this weeks podcast to discuss the important issues associated with men's health. Matthew discusses various mens health issues that can affect men at different ages from low testosterone, ED, cancers of the testicle, and prostate health. Marci joins us for episode 46, she is the assistant director of development for tourism in  State of Maryland. She tells us how she was recruited to work for the State and all of the amazing opportunities that the tourism office provides. We were privileged enough to speak to Chris Sloan director of the Allegany Arts Council. We talked about all of the annual events that the Art's Council hosts, including the Art Sale and Tour  featuring 24 local artists and their studios over two weekends. October 17-18 and 24-25 . The Arts Council offers opportunities to local and national artists to exhibit in their gallery. Chris also speaks to where he would like to see the arts community grow and the how the Arts Council can be leading the charge. Jody joins us today and is playing live in studio an RTL first. Jody has been playing music since the age of 13 and his talent was nurtured throughout high school and college. Jody is a stringed instrument instructor and inspiring and nurturing his own students talents.  Jody has played in several successful bands over the years spanning all genres of music. You can see Jody live with his current bluegrass band Grand Ol' Ditch.   

We were very honored to have Kelli Allaway joins us on todays show episode #43. Kelli is very active in our community especially in her philanthropic endeavors with many local organizations. Kelli recently opened her dream retail store Mixx. Mixx is located at 183 Center Street Cumberland, MD. Mixx is a fashion forward boutique featuring vintage styles and contemporary silhouettes. Robin and I discuss some of the wonderful and positive things happening in our area, including how keeping a positive and supportive attitude can go a long way to helping new ideas be successful. We also discuss the importance of voting and being a part of the electoral process no matter what party you are affiliated with.  Robin has been involved in community organizing, advocacy, and public policy since 1999. His current position as a field representative for US Senator Ben Cardin makes Robin the eyes and ears for the senator in western Maryland. Andrew Hill and Brian Oxford of Dronesters join us on todays show. Brian and Andrew are a both freelance, graphic and website designers and have created an amazing ariel photography company using drones. Brian and Andrew are able to provide a different perspective in an easy to use platform that allows the client a quick view of what would otherwise be out of reach. On today's show we were lucky enough to interview the founders of the Allegany Allied Arts David Rorabaugh and Eve Soliz.  The Allegany Allied Arts hosts the Queen City Film Festival. The fourth year kick's off October 1-4 and is located at the Cumberland MD, Ramada Inn. The Festival features shorts to full length films in many different categories. Kyle Blake joins us for todays show, Kyle has been falling in love with classic cars since the day he was born. He is involved with multiple car clubs in the area and is the chairman of the Queen City Region Antique Car Club of America.  Kyle has two antique cars he drives on a regular basis and the jewel is "Vivian" an award-winning HOPF (Historic Preservation of Original Features) vehicle. Josh does amazing and important work as an ADA in our community.  Josh has lived in Cumberland for the past 11 years, he loves the local arts community, and enjoys seeing live theatre as a season ticket holder to the Hippodrome in Baltimore. Josh, a native of California, made his way east to pursue his law career, and we hear how he ended up in the Queen City.  Enjoy!
