    Doug joins us on today's show, to discuss Troop 89 a Boy Scouts of America troop the he established in 1977.Scouting has been a part of his life for as long as he can remember and he has remained active into adulthood with Troop 89. Troop 89 was formed  as a troop for Scouts who have disAbilities. The troop is extremely active and participates in Council activities, Camp Potomac and Troop 89’s own special trips.  Activities are geared to the ability levels of each scout to afford each one a successful experience.  In order to participate in Troop 89, a boy must be a minimum of 13 years of age.  Troop 89 has no upper age limit. The Leaders of Troop 89 are always looking for people to join in a leadership roles, this will help ensure Troop 89 will be here for scouts well into the future. You do not have to have any previous experience with Scouting, training is available and easy to do.      We need help coming up with a name for our new show..so.... all and any suggestions are welcome!  This shoe features Tim Gallagher and Mark Witt, the two have been talking about having their own cooking show for awhile and with the right push from Lydia it finally happened! Whether you are a great cook or a novice we hope to make cooking more approachable and fun.  To help make this show a success we need full audience participation, send us your name suggestions, recipes, and questions and we will answer them on out next episode.   This week's recipe:  Beer Can Chicken!  1- 4lb Whole Chicken   Brine Recipe: Juice of.....  2 oranges  1 Lemon 1 Lime  1 1/2 Tablespoon Kosher Salt 1 teaspoon of dried thyme  1Tablespoon crushed red pepper flakes  Using 2 Cup measuring cup add the juices of the oranges, lemon, and lime. Top it off with 1 1/4 cup with water.  Add remaining ingredients  Put chicken in a 1 gallon ziploc bag  Add brine  Push the air out of the bag as you close it.  Refridgerate the chicken in the bag

    Kris Ritz Perry from Stepping Stone Animal Society joins us for todays show. This non-profit offers low-cost spay and neutering for cats and dogs. Stepping Stone Animal Society recognizes the important role that spay and neuter surgeries play in reducing the number of homeless and unwanted animals in our community. It is sadly a common theme that these surgeries are not a financial possibility for many people with animals. This too often leads to unwanted litters of puppies or kittens, increased stray animals and increased intake at local animal shelters and rescues. In addition to spay and neutering services provided by a full-time DVM they offer microchips, rabies vaccine events and education. At Stepping Stone Animal Society everyone is welcome!     We have made it to our 60th episode and we feature Tom Dodd who recently celebrated 60 times around the sun. This episode marks the first time we have hit the road to record our latest episode. Tom invited me to his beautiful recording studio in his converted barn on the south branch of the Potomac river in WV. If this environment does not inspire a hit record then nothing will. Tom a DC native moved here and immediately established deep roots in the area by investing in main street Frostburg MD. Tom has gone from playing in bands, owning music venues and bars to finally settling into recording albums at South Branch Studios. After starting his career with the City of Frostburg, Maryland Department of Community Development, Shawn then served as Executive Director of the Pendleton County Economic and Community Development Authority in Franklin, WV. He was also the Economic Development Coordinator for West Point, Virginia prior to returning to the Cumberland area in March 2012. Shawn specializes in working with investors and developers to retain existing business, and to grow new business in Cumberland and the surrounding areas.   Shawn and I discuss the various topics including the Rolling Mill Development Project and Peak Harvest.
