The CLA is hosting Coffee with the Writer with Lowell Duckert, and his book For All Waters: Finding Ourselves in Early Modern Wetscapes. Choosing Civility with FSU students

Frostburg Grows; Amber Haning

They have partnered with local master gardeners, that will be providing demonstrations, answering gardening questions, and seed exchanges. If you are trying to expand your gardening prowess, by signing up for a community garden plot at Frostburg Grows high tunnels and raised beds. If you are interested in a native plant sale it will be happening May 12 from 10-3p Frostburg Grows is a sustainable agriculture and training center located in Frostburg, MD. The 5-acre site, formerly used for coal mining, has been re-purposed to demonstrate innovative, sustainable land usage. The organization is committed to growing food for the future, supporting local farms in our area, and training others to do the same. Calling all Photographers

This event is being held April 7, 2018 at the Allegany Arts Council 9 North Center Street in Cumberland Maryland. The call is officially out to submit your photos (do that HERE) The submissions are due Feb 20, 2018 and the cash prizes over $5,000. The Juror who has the hard job of picking the winners this year is Karen Irvine. Karen is the curator and associate director of the Museum of Contemporary Photography (MoCP) at Columbia College Chicago. She has organized over forty five exhibitions of contemporary photography at the MoCP and other venues including the Hyde Park Art Center; Rockford Art Museum; Lishui International Photography Festival, China; Daegu Photography Biennale, South Korea, and the New York Photo Festival. Love Letters; Doug Schwab and Betsey Hurwitz-Schwab

This episode they join forces to discuss their upcoming debut in Love Letters a play written by A. R. Gurney. This popular play has been performed many times over on broadway, but locally was made famous by Doug's parents Leonard and Jane Schwab. The performances of past and present have always been a fundraiser for the Cumberland Theatre and 100% of the proceeds will benefit the theatre. Hayden is very reachable and loves to hear from the customer, it's good to know your coffee roaster say hello at farmers markets and events throughout the year.
