Our Living Hope
24/03/2019 Duration: 46minFor the next few weeks, we will seek to dissect and unpack one of the greatest chapters in all of the Scripture, the fifteenth chapter of Paul's letter to the church at Corinth. Our focal text is the 15th chapter; however, the focal point of this chapter is the “Gospel/Good News” of the Resurrection. Paul knew that the only hope for the brokenness and sinfulness in Corinth was the truth of the Gospel. We must also be persuaded that the only hope for the brokenness and sinfulness of our own community is the Gospel. Our hope is the Gospel!

A Year in Review: And the Glory Came Down
17/03/2019 Duration: 43minOne of the most difficult things for a preacher to do is “finish”. This morning we draw to a close our study of the “Gospel in Exodus”. We began this study on April 8, 2018, and we will seek to bring itto a close this morning. Chapters 35-39 rehearse for us all the instructions that God had given to Moses while he was on the mountain. The contributions were gathered, the craftsmen were assembled, the priests were consecrated, and the tabernacle was completed. It would serve the nation of Israel as a place of worship for 440 years!

The Character of God Revealed
10/03/2019 Duration: 46minThis morning we focus on one of the greatest chapters in the Old Testament, Exodus 34. We will hear the name of the Lord proclaimed and explained, and the covenant reestablished with Moses and the rebellious people of Israel. There are three big truths we learn about the Lord from this glorious chapter. My prayer is that after hearing today's sermon, we have a deeper understanding of the Lord and a greater humble affection for the Christ, His church, and the lost.

Desiring God
03/03/2019 Duration: 38minThis morning we focus upon the wonderful relationship between God and Moses. Few people ever had such an intimate relationship with God as Moses did. Moses' desire to know God and to be led by God was unquestioned. Psalm 37:4, “Delight yourself in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.” Question: What is the greatest desire of your heart?

The Wrath of God and the Blessing of having a Mediator
24/02/2019 Duration: 43minThe scene shifts again, this time back to the mountain. Can you imagine the unspeakable joy that Moses was experiencing, as he anticipated coming down off the mountain, and hand-delivering the Ten Commandments written by the finger of God? However, while God was directing Moses concerning plans for worship, the Israelites were making some plans of their own. Moses had no clue what had been happening down at the camp, but nothing was hidden from God.

The Golden Calf & The Fallen Nature of Man
17/02/2019 Duration: 41minMoses was experiencing an mountain-top experience like no other. For 40 days and nights, Moses was instructed by God concerning the terms of the covenant, the building of the tabertnacle, the ordination of priests, and the true worship of Yahweh.
-
The Ordination of the Priests
10/02/2019 Duration: 42minLast week we examined the “holy garments” that the priests wore, especially the high priest. This morning we continue looking at God's instruction concerning these Divinely appointed ministers. Exodus Chapter 29 outlines for us the liturgy of the consecration service for Aaron and his sons.
-
The High Priest and Holy Garments
03/02/2019 Duration: 42minWhen the Lord instructed Moses concerning the tabernacle, He also gave detail and instruction concerning those that would serve His tabernacle. Only those designated by God could approach the Lord without dying.

Curtains, Coverings, and the Veil
27/01/2019 Duration: 38minThis morning we will finish our study of the tabernacle structure by looking at the details given concerning the curtains, boards, rods, coverings and the veil. As we will see, much can be learned about how God relates to his people by looking at the tent of meeting.
-
The Bronze Laver: The Need for Cleansing
20/01/2019 Duration: 40minThis morning we examine the final piece of furniture found in the tabernacle, the bronze laver. This piece of furniture was found in the courtyard and was used by the priest as they carried out their duties and responsibilities.
-
The Brazen Altar: The Necessity of Atonement
13/01/2019 Duration: 41minThe series of the tabernacle continues this morning as we seek to understand the significance of the altar in the courtyard. Last week we discussed the “alter of incense” and looked at the relationship between it and the “brazen altar”which we will consider this morning.
-
The Golden Altar of Incense
06/01/2019 Duration: 42minAs we begin this new year, we continue our series “the Gospel in Exodus.” As we have learned, Israel's story is a foreshadowing of our own story. (God redeeming a people by the blood of the Passover lamb and desiring to dwell among them.)
-
God the Son Incarnate, the Head of a Redeemed Humanity
30/12/2018 Duration: 37min“Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all have sinned”

What Child Is This?
23/12/2018 Duration: 40minThis morning as we approach the celebration of Christmas, the birth of our Lord and Savior, let us focus upon the question raised in the old familiar Christmas Carol, “What Child is This?” “What child is this who, laid to rest, on Mary's lap, is sleeping? Whom angels greet with anthems sweet, while shepherds watch are keeping? This, this is the Christ the King, whom shepherds guard and angels sing, haste, haste, to bring him laud, The Babe, the Son of Mary!” What child is this? The confusion reigns in our own day! To put it mildly, Christmas is a little bit confusing to the watching world. The apostle Paul's words in our text may help to clear away the clutter and focus us on the greatest reality, “the Christ has come”.

The Golden Lampstand
09/12/2018 Duration: 41minAs we continue our study of the tabernacle and its furnishings, we examine the 2nd of 3 pieces of furniture that was within the holy place.: the golden lamp stand. The tabernacle was a tent that was four layers thick. Imagine how dark it must have been! There were no windows and light could not penetrate the four layers of coverings. It would have been a place of black darkness if God had not provided the “light”.
-
The Table and the Bread
02/12/2018 Duration: 42minAs God instructed Moses concerning the building of the “tabernacle”, He now gave instruction concerning the “table of bread” which was contained in the Holy Place. As we will discover, God had a great purpose in placing the table and the bread in the tabernacle.
-
God Designs His Tent
25/11/2018 Duration: 44minHave you ever designed a house? Have you ever considered what your “ideal” house might look like? The very One who created the universe in six days spent 40 days on the mountain with Moses giving detailed instructions concerning His “tent”. (God could have spoken the word, and the tent would have been created). The people of Israel had the incredible privilege of having Yahweh dwell among them, as well as, the honor of building His dwelling place.

God Dwells With His People
11/11/2018 Duration: 35minGod Dwells With His People 2018/11/11 Not only did Moses receive the Commandments written in stone, he received the instruction and the pattern for the “Tabernacle in the wilderness”. God established a sacrificial system , a Levitical Priesthood and a tent of “grace” to His people when they broke his laws and sinned against Him and against one another.
