Football is BACK! I mean, we’re happy that the University of South Carolina Women’s Soccer Team defeated Clemson 1-0 last week, and we’ll be watching closely as Mark Berson’s Men’s squad takes on those folks in orange this Friday, but can we talk about these new uniforms already!?Yep, football is back, faithful listener, and the crew from the only podcast in the Gamecock universe is here to bring you everything you’ve come to expect from your favorite source for all things Carolina sports. School is back in session, cooler weather beckons, and everyone is undefeated. This is truly the best time of year....except the back to school part. (sorry, teachers everywhere)In any event, this is our final preseason preview episode before our regular schedule resumes next week. We talk about some of our favorite moments of the offseaon, predict an SEC champion, and roll through our in-depth game-by-game analysis (read: loosely formed) for the 2018 schedule, including a win/loss prediction and swing games/trap games that could make or break the South Carolina Gamecocks campaign. All is right with the world once again: the University of South Carolina Gamecocks are back in the Super-Regionals. The Gamecocks swept through the Greenville (NC) regional, defeating Ohio State, East Carolina, and the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in fairly impressive fashion and set up a date with the Arkansas Razorbacks this weekend. How did they come back from the dead to set up yet another post-season run? Well, that's what we're here to talk about. In this week's episode, the guys take a look back at the series, and survey the daunting task ahead of traveling to Fayetteville to do battle with one of the legitimate title contenders for the College World Series crown. We also take a look at the whole Super Regional field, and discuss the matchups we're most excited or interested to see. Today we celebrate the only football team from South Carolina that is undefeated in 2018. We are celebrating the only way we know how: by publishing the podcast three days late beause DC3's computer suffered an untimely, but very on-brand, demise.So, apologies if we reference a not-yet-to-be-played national title game which was way more fun than we actually predicted it to be on the show. If but for a short while Saturday evening, football was fun again in Williams-Brice Stadium. The Arkansas Razorbacks were overpowered by a stingy, explosive Gamecock defensive unit that saw TJ Brunson, Skai Moore and Keisan Nixon score touchdowns (the first time that's happened since 2010). Sam, Alex, and DC3 are here to relive their favorite momets of the game, and to provide thoughts on where the team is trending as they travel to Knoxville to face the Tennessee Volunteers. DC3 tries to be positive for roughly twenty minutes, Alex revels at the prospect that this defense might just be #elite, and Sam guarantees a beat-down of the Vols.
