The GABACast: Cole Cubelic Podcast Special!
28/09/2017 Duration: 45minEver wondered what the life of a full-time radio and television analyst is like?Funny you should ask... This week, the GABACast is pleased to present to you a special interview with former Auburn great and current SEC Network sideline guru, Cole Cubelic. You may remember Cole because he probably made you mad online before the season because he had enough faith in NC State to place them in his Playoff Top-Four. However, four weeks into the season we discuss how we’ve never known less about where the rest of the college football season will shake out. The conversation is varied, from talks about his daily life and hectic schedule, to the rigors of managing the social media era as both a player and as a pundit. We really hope you enjoy.

The GABACast. Episode 89: Killing the Curse.
25/09/2017 Duration: 01h08minOkay, that worked out in the end, but let’s try to never recreate this performance again, agreed? The Gamecocks overcame certain doom not once, but twice, in the final quarter to outlast the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs by one point (not one possession) on a beautiful, stereotypically sweltering, September afternoon. Nothing worked before everything worked before nothing worked again and then a miracle happened. DC3 actually called this miracle but no verifiable evidence exists, so let’s just say he was positive for once in his life. In short, a self-inflicted ‘GABACast Curse’ that had been in effect for nearly two years, and spanned three sports, was finally laid to rest this past week, so, you’re welcome.Inside this week’s podcast, your favorite group of misfit bloggers try to dissect the victory, and put into larger context just what to make of it all. For some reason, we talk about laundry mishaps, the kicking situation, why Jake Bentley might be the second coming of Carson Palmer. We also talk cloning, we laug

The GABACast. Episode 88: Put Up or Shut Up.
18/09/2017 Duration: 01h22minSaturday night was tough. There is no sugar-coating this. The South Carolina Gamecocks Football Team was not victim to poor luck, fluke circumstances, or any other outside factors. The team just didn't come prepared, and they paid the price. Y'all probably want to vent about it....so do we.In this week's episode, we do our best to perform a post-mortem analysis of the Gamecocks' offense (or lack thereof), decipher just exactly led to the hype train jumping the track in week 3, and explore the options the team has available moving into next week's game against Louisiana Tech, and what can be done to stop the bleeding. We discuss the sobering reality of losing Deebo Samuel to (another) significant injury and we try to figure out what can be done to restore the mojo in Williams-Brice Stadium (hint: let's get all four of the weird roman candles working). After a tough loss, it's only right that you get some thoughts off of your chest. We hope that y'all find this show as therapeutic as we did. As always, thank you

The GABACast. Episode 87: FREISMAN.
11/09/2017 Duration: 01h30minGreetings, Gamecock fans! This week's GABACast is a special one; Elliott Fry himself swings by the podcast to lend a helping hand. He gives us a little insight into his new role: regular-old college Senior. He also gives us an update on the current status of his football career (i.e. SOMEBODY SIGN THIS MAN). We break down the South Carolina Gamecocks big win over the Missouri Tigers in the The Mayor's Cup ( which is totally not a made-up rivalry played by two universities that had literally zero history before 2012) and look ahead to the first home game of the season versus the Kentucky Wildcats. Elliott also helps us work through our weekly winners and losers, as well as our new segment, Crystal Ball Predictions (we were pretty good with ours last week, btw). We also answer your questions, and there may or may not be a really good Will Muschamp story at the end. Trust us, it's worth it. We really want to thank Elliott Fry for stopping by, and we hope you enjoy this week's show. As always, you can find us on

The GABA Cast, Episode 86: NC State Review / Mizzou Preview
05/09/2017 Duration: 01h10minSam, DC3, and Alex reconvene for another installment of your favorite year-round Gamecocks sports podcast that tends to not talk about sports. Inside this week's episode, you'll find talk about underdogs, teams with dog mascots, and some doggone bad fourth quarters. One team that didn't have a bad fourth quarter? The Gamecocks, who (despite being on the field for 99 plays) actually got better defensively as the game wore on. The Gamecocks, who, just a few weeks ago were predicted to have virtually no shot at scoring points against one of the most talented defensive lines in college football. These Gamecocks did so against an NC State team loaded with experience and line depth on both sides of the football...oh, and their QB and HB/WR/TE/RB combo are undoubtedbly NFL starting talent. Those Gamecocks won their opener 35-28.We review the game that was, opine on this past week's winners and losers from the first (real) week of college football [hint: Butch Jones and Tom Herman get made fun of], dish on the upcomi

The GABACast, Episode 85: Welcome Back, Football!
30/08/2017 Duration: 01h03minIt's official, the South Carolina Gamecocks square off against the NC State Wolfpack on Saturday in Charlotte. The long, slow, arduous march of the offseason is behind us. Now it's time to officially freak out about football. Before we get into things, however, we do stop for a sec to remind ourselves that there are a ton of folks far less fortunate than we that are dealing with some really difficult times in Texas and the Gulf states. Please do all you can to help by clicking here, or here, or here. Every dollar counts. In this week's episode, you'll find our winners and losers from (technically) the first weekend of college football, insightful analysis on the impact of Arby's on the University of South Carolina football team, and an honest appraisal of how we feel like the Gamecocks season-opener will transpire. Thank you for listening. We hope you're as excited for football as we are.

The GABACast, Episode 84: Our season previews!
24/08/2017 Duration: 59minLadies and Gentlemen,Football is here.We at the GABACast would like to thank you for hanging in there during the long, parched, hot as heck period of months that we call the college football offseason. Now, we’ve had some fun times, and some not so good times, but we are on the brink of another year of football and we are so glad to be able to share it with you.Your patience has paid off! Sort of.This week, the guys provide their own unique spin on how they feel the events will transpire for the South Carolina Gamecocks beginning with the season opening game vs. NC State Wolfpack on September 2nd. From Sam’s optimistic take on how our schedule could provide momentum, to DC3’s schadenfreude-laiden debauchery, to Alex’s logical assessment, we give our honest takes on what lies in store for our boys in Garnet (or black, or white, or some combination of all three). We talk superstitions (including blackouts), chaos theories, new stadium pyrotechnics, Will Muschamp’s face melting off, The Wire, and favorite Super

GABA CAST: Episode 83. Our favorite Gamecock football games.
16/08/2017 Duration: 59minWhat's your favorite South Carolina Gamecocks football game?Do you remember where you were?Well...GABA Cast remembers. This week, the guys bide their time until the game that we're totally not nervous about to remember some games that really hit home with us. From the wacky wild comeback that forged a legend in (other) Columbia, to the fifth in a row over our western inbred cousin, we are here to help you bridge the gap to football season with some happy memories that can help cope with the college football withdrawal symptoms that have probably turned into anger and cold sweats by now.We definitely do not talk about Clemson. We do not compare Clemson fans to Twitter trolls. DC3 definitely does not incriminate himself for littering in 2007. However, we do discuss fall camp, and, did we mention we're ready for football season to get here? Thank you so much for listening. We'll see you next week when we make wildly inaccurate predictions about the upcoming season! Drive safe, Go Cocks, Tip your waitress.

The GABA Cast. Episode 79: A hundred miles an hour in the wrong direction.
31/05/2017 Duration: 43minGreetings, loyal listeners! It's a sad time around around here. With Gamecock sports winding down for the (school) year, we are faced with the reality that the long, hot, sweaty, boring sports-less summer is upon us. We're also faced with the reality that Gamecock Baseball was not so good this year. What do we make of it all? Where do we go from here? IS IT FOOTBALL SEASON YET?!You, know, the usual. In this week's episode, we break down the rollercoaster ride that saw the Gamecocks actually win baseball games in the SEC Championship, but we get into a lot of other topics, including a coaching change rumor, and whether or not we feel like it's actually the head coach that needs to be changed. DC3 compares Chad Holbrook to Mike Shula, Alex makes a (possible) Tiger Woods reference about Gamecock baseball going the wrong way on the interstate, and Sam tries to talk everyone out of their fears that Ray Tanner is going to extend Holbrook's contract. For now, we bid you adieu until football season shows itself on the h

GABACast Episode 78: SEC Tournament Preview
24/05/2017 Duration: 51minDC3, Alex and Sam return to discuss the enigma that is South Carolina baseball. The GABA Cast. Episode 77: Is it Football Season yet?
17/05/2017 Duration: 46minGreetings faithful listeners! The boys are all here and they're ready to fire (see what we did there?) off some slightly-less-than-boiling opinions that may or may not be related to our recent mental states due to a slightly-more-than-frustrating baseball season thus far. We discuss many things, including a mid-season post-mortem on all that has transpired, and the larger implications of the real possibility that the South Carolina Gamecocks will miss the post-season for the first time since the Gerald Ford administration, but really what we try to do is pump a little fun into the mix to brighten the mood. So prepare yourself for some laughs, some wildly innacurate opinions, and even a Notre Dame 4-8 joke or six. We go off in tangents, answer your Twitter questions, and DC3 spills a drink on himself as we hope to provide a pleasant diversion from the sadness we've experienced on the diamond this spring.Enjoy!

03/05/2017 Duration: 17minGreetings, loyal listeners. Among other things, we (the royal we) discuss the season thus far, potential coaching changes and their implications, bad walk-up songs, and the NFL draft. It's a different type of show for us, but we really hope you enjoy. Drive safe, Go Cocks, Tip your waitress.
