This week, we treat joy like a drug and seek one "fix" after another, and each one leaves us wanting because the experience doesn't last and so the joy fades away. But the Gospel provides a joy that lasts because the Gospel lasts!.

  • Mark 28 - Son of God

    15/07/2018 Duration: 47min

This is the last installment of our series in Mark, through out it we have been asking the same question as the disciples in the boat after the storm, who is this man? Probably one of the most if not most important question anyone can ask. Through his account of the passion of Jesus Mark answers that question with a resounding proclamation that Jesus is in fact the Son of God! But he also reassures us that first, God can be trusted and he has a plan, Jesus better than anyone showed us how we can trust God even in the darkest of hours. But Mark also reassures us that, like Peter, regardless of how far away from him we stray he will always welcome us back.

  • Mark 27 - My Body

    08/07/2018 Duration: 31min

Jesus invites us to take part in his Body. He offers to us everything that he respresents and has accomplished, the body of his work so to speak. Not only that but he has also made it possible for us to take part in it by shedding his blood to cover the sins of the world. These two things are what communion, or the Lord's supper are all about. Participating in communion with other believers is not just an opportunity to remember what Jesus has done but to proclaim the truth of the gospel to one another. Jesus had the very first communion with traitors and cowards, and for you and me he invites us into that same fellowship.

  • Refreshing Rain - Hosea 6:1-3

    01/07/2018 Duration: 26min

Message preached at our joint service in Lions Park July 1 2018 - Its been so hot lately, we could really use a nice refreshing rain to bring some relief. Life can be like that, leaving us hot and weary.  When that happens what we really need is for God to again revive us and renew our souls with his pressence, like a spring rain. He waits for us to seek him in repentance so that he can do just that, come to us, revive us, and renew our souls.

The condition of our heart determines the response we have both to Jesus and to others. A hard heart is one tht rejects, even betrays, Jesus yet a heart that is softened by his love is one tht worships and lives in all its fullness by the Spirit. Where is your heart at?

  • Mark 25 - He Is Coming Back!

Regardless of how you anticipate the return of Jesus will happen, one thing is for certain it will be glorious, unmistakeable, and guaranteed! He is coming back! Until then you and i are to stay awake, to keep vigilant watch over ourselves and our brothers and sisters that when Jesus does come back we are ready.

  • In Harm's Way

    10/06/2018 Duration: 37min

As a follower of Jesus we put ourselves in harm's way, as a local church we choose to follow Jesus as He expands his kingdom, and we are in harm's way. As we pray persistently that God would release His Spirit on our community we are in harm's way. We must acknowledge that there is a battle going on around us, that we in fact are smack dab in the middle of it, but our battle, our struggle is not against flesh and blood but against the dark spiritual forces at work around us. We are right where God wants us, in harm's way. But we stand firm in our faith in the strength of the Lord and he carries us through.
