Synopsis

I have struggled with sugar addiction for most of my life and finally found my path to freedom by giving up all sugar and all flour on January 13, 2018. I never thought I would be free from the misery of addiction and am so grateful to be where I am now. This podcast is about my personal journey and transformation from sugar addict to freedom and what my life looks like day-to-day as I continue to live the sweet life without sugar. I talk about challenges and victories and hope to inspire others that are struggling with sugar addiction to find their own path to freedom.

    In today's episode I talk with my friend, Brady Kramer, about his story with addiction.  Brady was born in Philadelphia and received a full athletic scholarship to play ice hockey at Providence College.  He signed with the Montreal Canadiens in 1995.  After just 18 minor league games, he retired due to challenges with anxiety and depression.  After struggling with alcohol, Brady quit drinking in 2011 and has been sober ever since.  He is heavily involved in Alcoholics Anonymous and gives talks to youths regarding mental health awareness.  Kramer is the owner of BCTK, a company that manages the operations and logistics of corporate incentive and business travel programs.  He lives in Berwyn, Pennsylvania with his wife, Pauline.  Connect with Brady via Facebook

    In today's episode I talk to Susan Miller, one of my listeners that reached out to me and was vulnerable enough to share her own current struggle with sugar addiction.  Susan is a mother and grandmother, born and raised in the South.  Her career was in the public school system as a School Nutrition Supervisor.  She retired two years ago due to a crisis of conscience because of what she was regulated to serve to students.  In 2016, on a quest to find reasons for a multitude of her own symptoms, she became certified as a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner.  Overweight most of her life, she was sent to Weight Watchers at the age of 10, which set her up for a lifetime of dieting and disordered eating.  Susan is celebrating 60 in August and is ready to find out what life is like without sugar and flour.
