This week we are postponing our regularly scheduled episode to ask you for once in your life to NOT be a deadbeat! There are millions of people worldwide protesting racism and police brutality. We here at the deadbeat headquarters believe black lives matter and in turn black art matters. So in an effort to allow space for black art we are presenting lists of our favorite films by black creators and/or about black stories that we hope you will spend this week enjoying and learning from. Film can be an excellent tool for empathy and education, especially when its someone telling their own story and a lived experience different from your own. We hope that you will watch some of the films we recommend and in turn share some of your favorites with us. We'll be back next week with a regular film analysis episode until then stay safe and speak up! Black Lives Matter
