Synopsis
Allen Christian and Steven Granger do the Lord's work, with weekly episodes chronicling the rise of the comic-book adaptation in film. Every episode is a new film, watched and reviewed as in-depth as possible. Personal feelings and misinformation abound, but we'll all learn things together.

Episode #82 - The Dark Knight, Part 1
31/07/2017 Duration: 03h30min2008's The Dark Knight may very well be the only reason this podcast exists. Allen and Steven give a detailed account of their hype for the film, go in-depth with the viral marketing as they experienced it, and all around how the Bat-tastic summer of '08 cemented a friendship of nearly a decade. The Bat may never reach these heights again, and we'll never be 18 again, so the hype may never be so real again.

Episode #81 - Hellboy II: The Golden Army
21/07/2017 Duration: 01h16minThe boys dig into 2008's Hellboy II: The Golden Army, directed by Guillermo del Toro, and starring Ron Perlman. Superior to the original and all-around well liked, Allen still takes issue with what he considers to be a terrible villain and Gerald finds himself defending a movie that he had initially assigned a lower score than his compatriots. ☆☆☆1/2
-
Episode #80 - Iron Man
13/07/2017 Duration: 01h33minThe boys once again make the Hall Call and tackle 2008's Iron Man. Kicking off a new wave and the current generation of superhero films, Jon Favreau's take on the material and Robert Downey Jr.'s take on Tony Stark laid the foundations for a multi-billion dollar film universe.

Episode #79 - Spider-Man 3
04/07/2017 Duration: 01h22minThe boys welcome John Hall remotely as they finish off Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy with one of the most cringe inducing films ever made. They posit the theory that Raimi sunk this film out of spite, as all previous characterizations are thrown out the window and no one in the film is any sort of likable. Episode #78 - John Wick
26/06/2017 Duration: 01h08minIt's Gerald's birthday! That means he got to pick out the movie we watched! His selection was 2014's John Wick, starring Keanu Reeves, Willem Dafoe, and Alfie Allen. We love on the movie, talk about some news, and play a Gerald-centric version of Hi-Lo Rotten Tomatoes. Episode #77 - Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer
21/06/2017 Duration: 01h22minThe boys watch and loathe the 2007 Fantastic Four sequel with a special kind of hate. Adam West is given a fitting tribute. Email: fourcolorfilm@gmail.com Twitter: @fourcolorfilm Facebook: facebook.com/fourcolorfilm Website: fourcolorfilm.com

Episode #76 - 300
09/06/2017 Duration: 01h15minGetting back on schedule, the boys welcome back Madison Leigh to break up the machismo of Zack Snyder's 300. Based on the Frank Miller graphic novel, the film itself has aged relatively poorly, but still manages to be much more entertaining than anyone involved remembered. Also in this episode, brompers are discussed, Dr. Who is disliked, Steven thinks he's the only funny one at local Rocky Horror Picture Show viewings, Allen won't shut the fuck up about Alien Covenant, more Michael Fassbender praise (in song form, even). Episode #75 - Ghost Rider
06/06/2017 Duration: 01h35minThe boys thankfully find 2007's Ghost Rider streaming on Hulu, and don't have to pay to watch it. The movie is pretty terrible, but still manages to be fun when you're actually looking at Nicolas Cage. Also on this episode, we discuss the death of Sir Roger Moore and give a quick review for Wonder Woman. Episode #74 - Superman Returns
31/05/2017 Duration: 01h19minThe boys watch 2006's Superman Returns, directed by Bryan Singer, starring Brandon Routh and Kevin Spacey. Well executed in most respects, and a damn sight better than the current interpretation of the Man of Steel, the film suffers from being over-long and underwhelming. Routh is a fantastic stand-in for Christopher Reeve, and Spacey channels Hackman's Luthor while making it all his own. Unfortunately, a 21st century reimagining of Hackman-Luthor's real estate scheme from the 1978 film fails to leave an impression, especially given the runtime the climax demands. Also in this episode, Allen thinks people that didn't like Alien Covenant are lying to themselves about what the Alien franchise is, and the guys discuss Zack Snyder's departure from the Justice League production. This episode was recorded before the death of Sir Roger Moore, hence the lack of mention. But fully expect a good talk and remembrance on the next episode. Episode #73 - X-Men: The Last Stand
20/05/2017 Duration: 01h23minThis week, the boys are joined again by Lacey Day to tackle Brett Ratner's gut-punch to the X-franchise, X-Men: The Last Stand. Nobody really likes the movie, but nobody really hates it as bad as they remembered hating it. Everyone is dressed poorly and nobody bothers acting. A poor take on the Dark Phoenix Saga, poorly written and even worse directing, the film doesn't justify its own existence. Also in this episode, Allen tries to convince everyone to watch Samurai Gourmet, everyone wonders why they're even bothering to make this Mummy movie and why they think they have to have a shared Universal Monsters universe. Paul McCartney gets hate for being a pirate, and Allen Hates Aziz Ansari. Email: fourcolorfilm@gmail.com Twitter: @fourcolorfilm Facebook: facebook.com/fourcolorfilm Website: fourcolorfilm.com

Episode #72 - V for Vendetta
11/05/2017 Duration: 01h48minThe boys tackle the Wachowski-produced V for Vendetta and get probably overly political, for maybe understandable reasons given the current political climate and the contents of the film. Are there laughs? Sure. Email: fourcolorfilm@gmail.com Twitter: @fourcolorfilm Facebook: facebook.com/fourcolorfilm Website: fourcolorfilm.com

Episode #71 - The Legend of Zorro
06/05/2017 Duration: 01h41sThe guys welcome back Lacey Day as they all fail to have the patience to watch the overlong, unasked for Zorro sequel. Email: fourcolorfilm@gmail.com Twitter: @fourcolorfilm Facebook: facebook.com/fourcolorfilm Website: fourcolorfilm.com

Episode #70 - Fantastic Four (2005)
27/04/2017 Duration: 01h41minThe boys are shocked to once again find a film that's not nearly as bad as its reputation. Not only do we not think 2005's Fantastic Four is an awful movie, we actually quite enjoyed it. Mostly well cast and fairly well written, the film very closely captures the spirit of the original Jack Kirby & Stan Lee comic book. Also in this episode, the guys discuss the new Star Wars trailer, Jeff Goldblum and the Jurassic World sequel, upcoming plans for the website and Gerald's oft discussed spin-off pod, the Pixelated Pictures Podcast, and the upcoming Unbreakable/Split sequel. Episode #69 - The Five-Star Special
21/04/2017 Duration: 02h33minIn an attempt to legitimize the podcast, the boys pretend to be film critics and go back through all of the past films and put solid, agreed upon star ratings on each and every one. Episode #68 - The Fantastic Four ('94; Roger Corman)
13/04/2017 Duration: 01h19minThis week we take on the unreleased Fantastic Four, produced by Roger Corman. The story of this movie is strange and fascinating, far more so than the film itself. We dive into the movie and the recent documentary Doomed! The Untold Story of Roger Corman's Fantastic Four, where we determine everyone involved in making this picture was and remains completely delusional. Also in this episode, Allen reveals that Fantastic Four is his favorite comic book of all time, spends an uninterrupted ten minutes describing why he loves the book and why he loves Jack Kirby, as well as an explanation to his ongoing jabs at Stan Lee. Episode #67 - Batman Begins
06/04/2017 Duration: 05h37minWe finally made it! Allen, Steven, and Gerald welcome back Mr. Alan Hardy in person as we tackle another full-length commentary, welcome back John Hall remotely from his own home, and welcome for the first time, also remotely, Mr. Matt Burkette to discuss he and Allen's experience seeing the film in theaters 12 years ago. This episode is a juggernaut, clocking in at nearly 5 hours and 40 minutes, every moment is dissected, and very little strays from the topic of the film. Join us as we give the first installment of The Dark Knight Trilogy the kind of treatment we've given nothing else.

Episode #66 - Sin City
28/03/2017 Duration: 01h47minThis week we attack 2005's Sin City, co-directed by Robert Rodriguez and creator Frank Miller. Nothing but positivity from us on this one, so we get our negativity elsewhere. Question of the Week: Given the guest directing slot, we discuss our favorite Tarantino movies. Episode #65 - The Adventures of Ford Fairlane
15/03/2017 Duration: 01h34minThis episode we celebrate Steven's birthday by watching his selection of The Adventures of Ford Fairlane, the 1990 Andrew Dice Clay vehicle. The boys discuss the movie, why Allen and Steven love Dice, how much Gerald hates this movie, and the questionable decision to review the movie starring Andrew Dice Clay on International Women's Day. Also in this episode, Allen and Steven relay their experiences playing the Nintendo Switch and the brand new Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (no spoilers), as it has become an obsession. More Hi-Lo Rotten Tomatoes, featuring the favorite movies of Lacey Day. Email: fourcolorfilm@gmail.com Twitter: @fourcolorfilm Facebook: facebook.com/fourcolorfilm Website: fourcolorfilm.com

Episode #64 - The Crow: Wicked Prayer (a.k.a. "My Satanic Homies")
02/03/2017 Duration: 01h30minThe boys make what will likely be their last foray into the straight-to-DVD world with 2005's The Crow: Wicked Prayer, starring Eddie Furlong, Tara Reid, David Borneo, and Dennis Hopper. The movie with a 0% on Rotten Tomatoes for a reason. The Room if it were a poor comic adaptation. The primary discussion ends up being about video games, due to Allen and Steven's excitement about the new Zelda game and everyone's boredom with the movie. Episode #63 - Man-Thing
23/02/2017 Duration: 01h27minThe boys try a new format as they sit down to watch the "Sci-Fi Channel Original" Man-Thing. It's an atrocious piece of garbage and reaffirmation that we should stick to things that came out in theaters. It's arguably the worst adaptation of a source material ever made, and Allen has a special hate for it, given his love of the comics. Also in this episode, we talk about some news in a new segment, and Gerald poses our first "Question of the Week." Steven gets promoted to "2nd Tier Social Media Specialist" to handle our presence on lesser social media sites, as we hope to be the first podcast with FetLife AND Vampire Freaks accounts. Gerald gets upset that Allen trashes LinkedIn, the guys trash Australia for a minute, then apologize by thanking Australia for their positive cultural contributions.
