UNT 111: Wonder Woman 1984
15/01/2021 Duration: 01h47minThe world is in all kinds of chaos right now, and just wishing it all away won’t solve anything. Or will it? This is the quandary we found ourselves in when we reviewed and debated the new movie, Wonder Woman 1984. Recent events may have forced this movie’s release to be different than most. But, does that matter? Does the theater experience compare to watching at home, or is this movie really as bad as the critics say it is? Along with our very own Wonder Woman, Stacey, we grabbed our lassos of truth and dived in faster than a spelunking Amazon. Is Maxwell Lord a poor man’s Lex Luthor? Did Barbara need to go full Cheetah? What is up with Alastair, and why is Steve Trevor Quantum Leaping? To find out, make a wish and enjoy Episode 111 of Unfunny Nerd Tangent: Wonder Woman 1984. (Parachute pants not included.) Hosted by: ‘Captain Boomerang’ Greig Tansley (@GreigT13). UNT 109: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990)
27/12/2020 Duration: 02h09minOne of the most comic-accurate movies of all time is now 30 years old, so we decided to celebrate the Holidays by fighting in the 'old style', and look back at the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. If this episode reminds you of something that happened years ago in Japan, it’s because we removed the penicillin from your pizza and kept those Sony payments at bay, to instead meditate on this revolutionary film from three decades ago that certainly wasn’t some cartoon. And if you don’t understand cricket… we’ll teach you. Structurally speaking, this one has it all - It slices, it dices, it makes French Fries in three different ways but still manages to go on unfunny, nerdy tangents faster than you can ninja-kick a damn rabbit. So check out Episode 109: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Unless you’re some kind of punker. Man, we hate punkers. Hosted by: ‘Captain Cricket’ Greig Tansley (@GreigT13). Featuring: 'SuperShredder' Jared Robinovitz (@superjew75), 'Moonlighting' Joshua Schlag (@schlizzag / @thesteelcag

UNT 108: The New Mutants

Join us and our guest, Mike Seibert from Mike Seibert Radio in Limbo, as we rate, review and Rasputin this movie, which promises to be the final entry into the Fox X-Men Universe. UNT 107: Gremlins Vs Gremlins 2: The New Batch
30/11/2020 Duration: 02h26minUnfunny Nerd Tangent returns just in time for the festive season to discuss not one but two classics – Gremlins and Gremlins 2: The New Batch. Aaron and Ryan join us from the Autopod Decepticast to rate and review these seemingly-timeless creature-features, leading us down several tangents, including: why Kingston Falls looks eerily-similar to Hill Valley, why Kate’s Santa story stops the movie (ahem) dead in its tracks, and are the Gremlins living in the Breaking Bad universe? Not to mention, shocking revelations about Mrs. Deagle, why Daniel Clamp would be President in a forthcoming Gremlins 3, Mr. Futterman’s very own Jacob’s Ladder scenario, and what Rand Peltzer really gets up to when he’s away with ‘work’. You know the rules, now break ‘em all with episode 107 of Unfunny Nerd Tangent. ***Smokeless ashtray not included*** Hosted by: ‘Captain Boomerang’ Greig Tansley (@GreigT13). Featuring: ‘Bat-Gremlin’ Tim Agne (@TimAgne) & ‘Mayor of Reseda’ Derek Montilla (@cap_kaveman). Special Guests: Ryan Jett (

Join us as we return to The Seven, Vought International and The Church of the Collective to discuss all the head-popping hilarity and whale-deep gore of the latest season. GoPro blackmail, the ultimate Übermensch, Almond Joys and most of all… all the C-Bombs you can shake a love sausage at, this season had it all. And next year we get Jensen Ackles. UNT 105: Mean Girls
06/10/2020 Duration: 01h39minGet in, loser, we're podcasting. That’s right — we're talking about Mean Girls. And oh my God, we love your skirt. After a made-for-TV sequel and like a bajillion memes, this teen comedy classic is now old enough to be a junior in high school itself. Tina Fey's script remains as funny as ever, and watching Mean Girls in October 2020 raises some timely questions about how we should feel when a bully gets hit by a bus. It's just a shame that our tickets to the Broadway musical got canceled. So slather on the foot cream, cut two holes in your shirt and unwrap a Kälteen Bar — it's time to make out with a hotdog and hope we can sit with the band geeks. Wait, what? Hosted by: "Mrs. Norbury" Tim Agne (@timagne). Featuring: "Gretchen" Greig Tansley (@GreigT13) and "It's pronounced like Katie" Emily Parker (@emilyparkerhere). Music by: The Mean Girls & Kelis.

UNT 104: Cobra Kai Seasons 1 & 2
21/09/2020 Duration: 01h22minYou asked for it, so here it is! It took a while, but FINALLY, Unfunny Nerd Tangent rates and reviews the nostalgic show that’s brought sentimental memories flooding back to even the most cynical karate-dojo masters – Seasons 1 & 2 of Cobra Kai. Retro-sequels and long-time-reunions are tough to get right, especially in this day and age of the complete reboot (and rip-off). But as we all know, the original is usually the best, so when we sat down to discuss why Cobra Kai has taken the world by storm (for young and old), we were swamped with potential tangents to delve into. What have Johnny and Daniel been up to these past 35 years? Does a new generation of 'karate kids' live up to the mantle of their forbearers? And what happened to Mr. Miyagi? Well, we flipped the script, dove into the back of the cement truck and cranked up the glam metal for this one to prove one way or another whether ‘Mercy is for the Weak’ or not. Also Diora Baird. Hosted by: ‘Captain Boomerang’ Greig Tansley (@GreigT13). Featuring: ‘

UNT 103: Bill & Ted Face The Music
08/09/2020 Duration: 02h13minWe were supposed to unite the world in nerddom. According to George Carlin, a podcast created by Tansley and Agne will save reality as we know it, uniting humanity across all time. If only we could get it done in 90 minutes. Good thing we have a time machine, because we're going all the way back to 1989 in San Dimas, California (which looks conspicuously like the suburbs of Phoenix) to celebrate Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure. Then we're cheating death, giving melvins to evil robot us-es and definitely not covering KISS as we dial up Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey from 1991. And finally, we drop the old phone booth in the nightmarish hellscape of 2020. After a most unprecedented 29-year hiatus, Bill S. Preston, Esq., and "Ted" Theodore Logan are wild dads ready to unite the world against a most heinous dearth of new movie releases. Reuniting an almost-too-Bill Alex Winter and a maybe-not-Ted-enough Keanu Reeves, Bill & Ted Face the Music shows us the inseparable slacker icons still struggling to fulfill their m

UNT 102: DC FanDome Reactions
24/08/2020 Duration: 01h14minThere’s a lot coming from Warner Brothers and DC, but will it be any good? DC FanDome happened online over the weekend, where a host of trailers and news was dropped / announced, so we thought we’d dive in and see what we all thought. We looked at the new cast / character reveals for The Suicide Squad, argued about the trailer for The Batman, and then went through the highs and lows of the new trailers for Wonder Woman 1984 and the ‘long-awaited’ Justice League: The Snyder Cut. Will the Americans ever be able to see these in the theater? Who knows? But for now, you can listen to our reactions to the latest DC news on Episode 102 of Unfunny Nerd Tangent. Oh, and grow up, bro. Hosted by: ‘Captain Boomerang’ Greig Tansley (@GreigT13). Featuring: ‘SuperJew’ Jared Robinovitz (@SuperJew75) & 'Javelin' Tim Agne (@timagne). Special guest: Mike Seibert (@MikeSibertRadio). Music by: Nirvana / Samuel Kim Music & The Ramones.

UNT 101: The Umbrella Academy Season 2
10/08/2020 Duration: 01h46minOh my God, we’re back again… After crowning the first ever UNT champion in Episode 100, we return to 'normal' to avoid yet another Apocalypse with Season 2 of The Umbrella Academy. This season brought a lot to the table, diving into some unexpected themes like mental health, LGBT issues, the JFK Assassination and of course, the Civil Rights Movement. But was it also filled with superpowers stuff and time-travel nonsense? And did we go off on some weird tangents while discussing it? You bet your talking goldfish it/we did. So, before you come down with a case of paradox psychosis, jump back into the UNT timeline with us as we review The Umbrella Academy: Season 2. PS: We heard a rumor you rated us 5 stars. No? All right then, just listen anyway… Hosted by: ‘Captain Boomerang’ Greig Tansley (@GreigT13). Featuring: ‘SuperFlu’ Jared Robinovitz (@SuperJew75) & 'Number One' Tim Agne (@timagne). UNT 99: Independence Day
04/07/2020 Duration: 01h09minHello and… Welcome to Earth! Since it’s the 4th of July, of course we gathered together one American, one Canadian and one Australian to sit down and talk about the 1996 blockbuster: Independence Day. Through the magic of international time-zones and Morse code, we each setup a city-sized spacecraft of our own to dissect and analyse this mammoth movie that not only made Will Smith a genuine, big-time action-hero, but gave us the phenomenon forever known as - PEAK GOLDBLUM. 24 years later, ID4 is still regarded as one of the best of its genre, and we endeavored to learn why, while one of us finally learned the actual name of one of its more prominent characters. Constance? Really? So kick the tires and light the fires, Big Daddy – it’s Unfunny Nerd Tangent 99: Independence Day. Also, is that Data from Star Trek? (Spoilers, it is.) UNT 98: Rick & Morty Season 4
15/06/2020 Duration: 01h44minIt’s been two years, but Rick & Morty is back! Season 4 has already passed us by like Reggie in the night, but we were determined not to get off the Story Train until we spoke all about it (and pretend podcasts aren’t boring). We broke through the meta continuity walls on this particular episode, filled with face-huggers, Beth clones, Jesus Christ, but most importantly… snake jazz. So, restart from your latest save spot and check it out, because no one is shopping with this f**king virus! Hosted by: ‘Captain Boomerang’ Greig Tansley (@GreigT13). Featuring: ‘SuperJew’ Jared Robinovitz (@SuperJew75), 'Slut Dragon' Tim Agne (@timagne), 'Beast from the Middle East' Darrell Johnson (@zazzumplop), 'Mayor of Reseda' Derek Montilla (@cap_kaveman) & 'My Real Name is Matthew' Mateto Morales (@matt_morales). UNT 97: Who Framed Roger Rabbit
25/05/2020 Duration: 02h03sShave and a haircut... two bits! Just like the toons, you won't be able to resist our latest episode, as we do a deep dive on a cinematic classic: Who Framed Roger Rabbit. In 1988, a crazy movie was released that blended the line between live-action and animation, and yet… all we remember are those burning, red eyes and that high-pitched, squeaky voice. Oh, and Roger Rabbit. And Jessica. Mostly Jessica. This episode welcomes back Mike Seibert from the Mike Seibert Radio Show (and our Metallica episode) to reminisce about this landmark movie that has influenced filmmakers and animators ever since. Not to mention, our standard, tangential ways lead us down several dip-covered streets, including how Heidi Klum convinced all men that they actually don’t want a real-life Jessica, how Bill Murray, Eddie Murphy and Paul Reubens missed out on this film, bad rabbit costumes and several Back to the Future connections. And of course… nightmare fuel. Lots and lots of nightmare fuel. Hosted by: ‘Captain Boomerang’ Greig T

UNT 95: Star Trek: Picard
20/04/2020 Duration: 01h52minUnfunny Nerd Tangent, the final frontier… This time, we went where no one has gone before and reviewed the latest entry into sci-fi lore… Star Trek: Picard. With Tim and Jared busy on Mount Seleya, long time Star Wars aficionado, Flo spills the beans on her recent two-year binge of everything Star Trek. Caleb from the Autopod Decepticast (and our recent Metallica episode) returns to wax poetic about all things TNG and special guest, Chris Clow from The Comic Binge and Discovery Debrief podcasts gets trapped in the Delta Quadrant with us, as we broke down the good and the bad of Patrick Stewart’s return to the Captain’s chair. Personally, we rate this one a Seven (of Nine), so take a seat (like Riker) and check it out before Q returns to smite us. Hosted by: ‘Captain Boomerang’ Greig Tansley (@GreigT13). UNT 94: 1994 & The Rise of Jim Carrey
13/04/2020 Duration: 01h48minAnd… We’re back! While the world sits in isolation, episode 94 came knocking on our doors looking for Ray Finkle. So, we thought, let’s take a look at nineteen ninety-four and more specifically, the three films of that year that launched Jim Carrey into superstardom – Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, The Mask and Dumb & Dumber. Crazy hair, Hawaiian shirts, green faces, chipped teeth and the greatest tuxedos in the history of cinema… These topics and more popped up (among other things) as we dived into three of the biggest comedies of all time and a world that remembered Dan Marino. Alllllllrighty then, so if you want to hear the most annoying sound in the world, make sure you check out the Ssssssmokin’ UNT 94. (And we promise, that’s the last time we’ll ever use those catchphrases.) Hosted by: ‘Captain Boomerang’ Greig Tansley (@GreigT13). Featuring: ‘SuperJew’ Jared Robinovitz (@SuperJew75) & 'Laces Out' Tim Agne (@timagne). Music by: Cannibal Corpse, The Tokens, Cuban Pete, Roy Orbison & Apache Indian.

UNT 93: Birds Of Prey & The Fantabulous Emancipation Of One Harley Quinn
24/02/2020 Duration: 01h23minWhat do you get when you cross a crazy female anti-hero with an ex-GCPD cop, the daughter of a murdered mob boss, a street urchin and a lounge singer with a ‘killer’ voice? You get the longest title for a superhero movie ever: Birds of Prey & The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn. In another sausage party, we break down the latest movie from DC / Warner Brothers and try to understand its financial woes, despite what seems to be mostly positive audience reactions. Greig tries to perfect his Brooklyn accent like Margot, Tim ticks off another “Scott Pilgrim Superhero” off his list and Jared reveals what the real J stands for in “Mr. J.”, all the while looking for the perfect skull mask for his wedding. Okay, not really. But we did have a lot of fun going on our usual tangents with this Harley Quinn movie. So check it out. Because let’s face it, we might not get another one. Hosted by: ‘Captain Boomerang’ Greig Tansley (@GreigT13). Featuring: ‘SuperJew’ Jared Robinovitz (@SuperJew75) & 'Bruce' Tim Ag

UNT 92: Jay & Silent Bob Reboot
10/02/2020 Duration: 01h10minSnootch to the Nootch! Again. In this age of remakes, redos and reboots, one daring filmmaker (and the Patron Saint of Unfunny Nerd Tangent) throws his hat back into the ring to create one of his own: Jay & Silent Bob Reboot. Our trio of UNT brothers and Kevin Smith apologists (finally) sat down to discuss the latest entry into the ViewAskewniverse, its highs its lows and the general nature of reboots these days. So until we add some youth and diversity to our panel, you’ll have to listen to our review of the movie, all the while trying to avoid Chris Jericho. Snoogans. Hosted by: ‘Captain Boomerang’ Greig Tansley (@GreigT13). Featuring: ‘SuperJew’ Jared Robinovitz (@SuperJew75) & 'Chasing Agne' Tim Agne (@timagne).
