  • SE185: Man Candells

    24/05/2012 Duration: 01h05min

This week's special guest is lesbian comedienne Suzanne Westenhoefer. This hilarious lady has been on the scene for over 20 years and was the very first openly lesbian comic to appear on television. She's most sought-after as a performer for both straight and gay audiences nationwide and she works the Pride circuit, too. Find out who makes Suzanne laugh, whether she'll pop up on television soon, and why she thinks the guys should think twice before attending a gals' event. You might be surprised by her answer. Then, what's better than three hosts? How about six? This week, we welcome to the studio Kevin Platte, Chad Townsend and Barbara Kurzeja of the world-famous DC Cowboys. They are a part of the all-male performing arts organization for gay men in the Washington area. The group garnered international fame through appearances on NBC’s America’s Got Talent during season three, the closing ceremonies of the Gay Games VII at Wrigley Field in Chicago, at the Sziget Festival’s Magic Mirror venue in Budapest, plu

  • SE184: Wishin' and Hopin' and Drinkin'

    17/05/2012 Duration: 01h23min

We're always thrilled to feature new musicians on the show. And when this week's singer turns out to be a super hottie, model, dancer, actor, and artist by the name of MIKE MUNICH, we're on top of the world. Mike calls in to chat with Dale, Scott & Steve about his longtime role on FOX's Glee (he's part of the Vocal Adrenaline group); how he carried Lady Gaga's infamous egg into the American Music Awards; danced in several of her videos; has performed with Adam Lambert and Kei$ha and countless others; has graced hundreds of magazines and websites as a sought after model; and, he's starred in a string of videos for Andrew Christian. Sigh. It's too bad this boy lives such a boring life! We also talk to him about his own music. His "Beat the Beat" and "Referee" singles have been heating up lately and his full EP is due soon. He'll be on the road performing at Pride events, too, so get ready, America. It's gonna be one hot summer! Also up this week, our resident gay etiquette expert STEVEN PETROW returns for h

  • SE183: Take a School Bus To Work Every Day

And then, after several weeks without a dose, Dale, Scott & Steve catch up with their Gay-On-The-Ground in New York City, Mr. Justin Luke. He talks about his new book Gulliver Takes Manhattan, what's hot in New York gay nightlife, what to see and what NOT to see on Broadway right now, how he's tackling drag for the first time this coming weekend, what's up with Provincetown this summer, and how to save money

  • Swish Bonus: The Full Kaya Jones Interview Uncut

    26/04/2012 Duration: 37min

This is the full, uncut interview we did with the beautiful and talented singer Kaya Jones for Episode 181. During the full episode, we played 18-minutes of our chat...but this is the whole thing. And it's worth listening to, believe us! She stopped by to tell us why she is committed as a straight ally to the gay community, her passion of championing new artists through her very own record label, what she learned from being a member of the chart-topping Pussycat Dolls, all about her controversial Boyfriend song and video, and much, much more. And we have the Boyfriend track immediately after the chat.

  • SE181: Sit N Spin

    26/04/2012 Duration: 01h15min

This week, we're thrilled to welcome to the show one of the friendliest guests we've ever had the pleasure of talking to. The beautiful and talented singer Kaya Jones stops by to tell us why she is committed as a straight ally to the gay community, her passion of championing new artists through her very own record label, what she learned from being a member of the chart-topping Pussycat Dolls, all about her controversial Boyfriend song and video, and much, much more. And we have the Boyfriend track immediately after the chat and the video appears below. We were having so much fun that we ended up talking to Kaya for over 40 minutes. A shorter version is a part of this week's show (starting at the 40:32 mark), but if you'd like to hear the whole unedited version, it's here as a Swish Bonus. The boys also discuss Steve's love of the Sit N Spin and hatred of big, fat rats; why Cher could have done a better job at last weekend's GLAAD Media Awards in L.A.; how actor Chris Evans is smoking hot and a friend of the

  • SE180: Runway 7 Left

    19/04/2012 Duration: 01h26min

We were thrilled to welcome industrial pop singer Danny Blu to the show. A longtime Swish Edition listener (and friend of frequent guest Sherry Vine), Danny has recently released a much talked about first music video for The Factory Blu's song, Set Me On Fire, and it's hard not to be impressed with the production values and the strong, very important message. Danny channels Jesus Christ--he was bullied, too, don't you know--in a modern day, high school-based tale. An advocate of embracing your inner freak and living life with no regrets, we're digging' Danny's first album, full of originals that are a mash-up of the harder 90's music he loved while growing up, married with the pop and dance sounds of today. We play Set Me On Fire after the chat so you can get a taste of our new favorite bisexual rocker. Also up, the hosts are happy to help spread the word about Danny's Kickstarter campaign, aimed at financing his group's effort to produce their second album. Kick in a few bucks, people. After that, Swish's se

    12/04/2012 Duration: 01h14min

International recording artist Kristine W returns to the show to chat about her new album, her trip to Washington, DC this weekend to perform at the Cherry Blossom Parade and at Town Danceboutique, her strong support for gay rights (she'll be performing at Miami Pride next week), and all about her constantly changing style. Kristine calls in from her recording studio in Las Vegas and the boys felt like they were talking to an old friend; she's so sweet. And sexy! The boys also discuss their Easter weekend festivities; the fake naked Zac Efron pictures; how the guys in Peru check their balls for cancer; Dave Franco's new video PSA; gay families at the White House; Miss Universe decides to allow transwomen to compete; Melissa Etheridge's ex can't live on $23,000 a month; and, much, much more. • SE178: There Is a Ginger Cactus In The Bathroom

    05/04/2012 Duration: 01h27min

The boys welcome the multi-talented Scott Nevins to the show this week. He's a regular on truTV's The Smoking Gun Presents, he's a cover model, he's an actor, he's a stand-up comedian, he's...damn...he's everything! This hottie updates us on his new part-time gig as the new cruise director for RSVP Vacations, he updates us on his land tour dates, we go behind-the-scenes of his hit television show, he tells us about his favorite people to impersonate, his friendship with Lorna Luft, and he even sings as Judy Garland for us. It's a conversation that was meant to be 15-minutes, but we were having so much fun, time got away from us. We think you'll dig the whole thing. The boys also discuss the douches of the week, including Pat Robertson, Rick Santorum and Carson Daly; bisexual dolphins in Australia; Scott and Steve clash over the Celebrity Apprentice; Madonna news, including her afternoon of tweets and her new Truth Or Dare perfume; the Atlantis sex scandal photo; the new Pipe underwear model who just happens t

    29/03/2012 Duration: 01h14min

This week, Scott and Steve have gathered to celebrate the birthday of one of their own. Dale turns 31 today (damn him)! Whilst cutting the cake and marveling at all the balloons and streamers in the studio, the hosts take a moment to turn to their Gay-On-The-Ground Justin Luke and his short chat with the founding partner of New York City's OUT XL complex, IAN REISNER. Ian gives some insight into the creation of this new popular mega-club, hotel and restaurant in Hell's Kitchen. And it just so happens that your dear hosts will be celebrating Dale's birthday at OUT XL tonight after they attend a Human Rights Watch reception with the cast of Broadway's Evita. The boys can't wait for their New York City adventure and Scott, it should go without saying if you know anything about him, can...not...wait...to meet Ricky Martin. He is beside himself and Dale and Steve are praying that Scott doesn't make a fool of himself in public. (Details next week.) Also up this week, we have more SHERRY VINE. Sherry has teamed up w

    22/03/2012 Duration: 01h18min

Singer/songwriter Tom Goss returns to the studio as our guest host this week, replacing Dale, who's finishing up a week at clown college. Scott & Steve are treated to an extra special treat, too, when Tom pulls out his guitar and sings two brand new songs from his forthcoming album, Lost Songs and Underdogs. You'll hear Pills and Chalk and I Do, two great tunes. Plus, this cutie folk-rock singer shares with us details of his massive spring/summer tour of America. And Scott was excited to swing open the studio doors last Friday night to welcome back Sherry Vine and, for the very first time on Swish, New York-based drag sensation, Bianca del Rio. The girls were featured performers at the Cobalt/Level One complex across the street from the studio that night, so a team of friends, who were at the show, too, came over the studio to watch. You'll hear them in the background for this silly little chat (at the 42:20 mark). The boys also discuss Scott's new iPad; Beyonce's just-announced, post-baby concerts in Atl

  • SE175: The Rides of March

    15/03/2012 Duration: 01h37min

The hilarious and sexy Tony Tripoli stops by the Swish Edition for a chat this week. He might be best known right now for his appearances on the WE's reality show, Joan & Melissa: Joan Knows Best, but this talented stand-up comedian has been working both the gay and straight clubs for years, entertaining audiences with his unique brand of storytelling. And the butt of his jokes is usually himself. Join us as Tony tells tales from behind the scenes of Joan's show and E!'s Fashion Police--which he is the headwaiter for--and why he's proud to be a dirty boy. And, also up this week, nationally-known manners expert Steven Petrow returns for his monthly gig on Swish. Our resident gay etiquette expert has tips about Girl Scout cookies, splitting the group dinner check, hotels and events in Palm Springs, whether it's okay to defriend people on social media sites, and much more. We always love Steven's insights...and he's funny, to boot. And finally, this week's banter topics include Rosie O'Donnell's struggling s

  • SE174: Your Button Should Sparkle

    08/03/2012 Duration: 01h26min

It's the regular ol' gay hilarity with a lesbian twist this week when the boys welcome back Washington, DC's own Ebone Bell and Angell Lynn (seen left to right) to the show. These chicks are VIPs on the scene in your nation's capital and responsible for the upcoming 6th Annual Capital Queer Prom. This is a must-attend event every March and it sounds like it's going to be quite a party. The bulk of the show is five friends sitting around having cocktails and acting a fool...but that's what you've come to expect from us by now, right? Topics include the battle between the message movie Bully and the MPAA's R-rating; Rush Limbaugh and his controversial comments about contraceptive coverage and "sluts" (which turned into an all-encompassing discussion on personal responsibility and victimless crimes); former Growing Pains actor Kirk Cameron's unfortunate anti-gay statements; the disgusting idea of the very real product...bacon flavored lube; all the new television shows coming to the airwaves this month; the new

  • SE173: Gaylarious

    01/03/2012 Duration: 01h17min

We're mixing it up this week with two great guest co-hosts who sit in with Dale, Scott & Steve for the whole show--gay stand-up comedians Chris Doucette and Zach Toczynski. The guys behind Washington, DC's monthly Gaylarious Comedy showcase will have you in stitches as they help us skewer all the pop culture and gay news of the week over cocktails. Lots of cocktails. Nothing is off limits nor sacred with these guys. Just the way we like it! Topics include last Sunday's Oscar-snorefest-of-a telecast; the just announced cast of Dancing with the Stars; Zac Efron and the condom drop incident; the gay Marine homecoming photo seen 'round the world; same-sex marriage comes to Maryland; straight boys playing it gay for ratings; Rude Boys are fun; and, anything you might do on Leap Day, doesn't count! The hosts also play a round of the Swish's signature "Super Gay Bad Libs," (to the dismay of Chris & Zach). Hey, we think it's a fun activity...but we'll do our best to come up with a fresh, new game for next tim

  • SE172: We Are Living For This

    23/02/2012 Duration: 01h46min

This week, we welcome Metro Weekly magazine publisher/editor Randy Shulman to the studio. A longtime movie reviewer, he brings along his picks for this weekend's Academy Awards. And he's as confused as we all are with many of this year's nominations. For one, Melissa McCarthy for Bridesmaids, asking, "...she's been nominated for pooping in a sink?" If you're in the Washington, DC area this Sunday, go watch the Oscars at Town Danceboutique with Randy, an event to support the DC Center. It's called, Glammer, Glitter & Gold. Catch Randy and the Oscar segment at the 37:50 mark. Then, we've got our very good friend Sherry Vine via Skype. We catch up with her about her upcoming big weekend: Her television variety show She's Living For This premieres on hereTV this Friday, February 24 and she celebrates her 20th anniversary as Sherry at NYC's Barracuda this Sunday, February 26. • SE170: Swish At Sea

    08/02/2012 Duration: 01h34min

How do you sum up a gay cruise for the uninitiated? For Swish Edition's Dale, Scott & Steve, our first Atlantis cruise disproved many of the preconceptions we brought onboard. Yes, “floating bathhouse” was at the top of all our lists, too. But when you get 5,000 gay guys (and a whopping 78 chicks) on the largest cruise ship in the world, surrounded by miles of water, 22 bars and all-night theme parties, hyper-gayness is bound to boil over. But it’s not like hairless, chiseled 20-something models were screwing on the poop deck for all to see 24 hours a day. It’s bacchanalian, sure, but not a balls-to-the-wall, free-for-all orgy at sea. Last week’s cruise on Royal Caribbean’s Allure of the Seas sailed from Ft. Lauderdale on a 7-night itinerary that included ports of call in Labadee, Haiti and Costa Maya & Cozumel in Mexico. And despite the unfortunate (and according to official reports, self-inflicted) tragedy of a fellow passenger going overboard—and a medical “Alpha Alpha Alpha” here and there—fun was

  • SE169: Food and Soap

    02/02/2012 Duration: 49min

Dale, Steve & Scott might be at sea this week and unable to upload a fresh new episode...but they didn't forget those who weren't able to join them on the Allure of the Seas. They taped this special episode to air while they were gone. Sure, they SAY that they're on the ship a few times during the episode, but it's a lie. They taped this last week before shoving off. But don't fret, there's still lots of great content! First, up, it's the Swish Edition's very own Gay on the Ground in New York City, Justin Luke, with his exclusive chat with Michael Munoz. The boys stand on the streets of Hell's Kitchen and chat all things NYC and FOOD! It's fun, just like Michael's delicious website, The Gay Gourmet. It's fearless cooking with a side a pizzaz. Check it! After that, Dale & Scott video Skype with the creators and some of the cast members of the wildly popular streaming web-series, Gossip Boy. It's two-on-five as the boys talk to creator Paul Storiale, writer/director Bree Pavey, and actors Daniel Landrou

  • SE168: Love In a Cul de Sac

    26/01/2012 Duration: 01h17min

You'll laugh your butt off when the first lady of the Tupperware party stops by for a spell. Dixie Longate tells us how she got into selling plastic as a condition of getting her kids back after a stint in prison, why Tupperware's cupcake holder makes a much better Jello® Shooter caddy, why she's upset her lazy three year old won't go out and get a job, how she got off her knees long enough to do a show Off-Broadway, all about her upcoming six weeks in Australia (she's scared, because they don't speak English there, ya know), and how alcohol makes people open their wallets (among other things). Dixie also tells us about what she's packing for the Atlantis cruise that starts this coming Sunday...including a surprising extra, her John Deere Snuggie®. She's planning to host a Snuggie® Pub Crawl with the cruise director and her special fans onboard the Allure of the Seas. Yup, we're gonna get photos of that for you, because we're sure we all have the see it to believe it! Dale, Scott & Steve also discuss: W
