Show Notes The Mitsubishi Pencil Company announced that they were discontinuing their colored pencils until animators demanded they bring them back. Evan is tentatively excited about a sequel to Samurai Jack, but Victoria was never a big fan. Mr. Osomatsu is sating Evan's appetite for abject violence in the name of comedy. Episode 21 – Butts off to You
20/11/2015 Duration: 45minIt's a good day for good hips as Evan and Victoria discuss Space Adventure Cobra, the made-up Japanese holiday Good Hips Day, Ghost in the Shell: The New Movie, and the Monogatari series. Show Notes As Phase 1 of the "Library Expansion Project," Crunchyroll licensed Space Adventure Cobra and Cat's Eye. After we recorded we also got Yakitate!! Japan, Space Pirate Mito, Princess Knight, and Fantastic Detective Labyrinth! Both Evan and Victoria are keeping up with The Perfect Insider, which has recently hit some exciting highs AND some disappointing lows. Episode 20 – Who's Your Favorite Matsu?
14/11/2015 Duration: 40minThis week Evan and Victoria talk about Young Black Jack's shirtless, patchwork body, the terrifying harem in Oreshura, online anime petitions, and the ongoing debate over who is Best Matsu. Plus answers to your questions, including our favorite villains and whether or not it's OK to call anime "cartoons." Show Notes Bubuki Branki has a really silly name, but Evan's still interested in it since it's the 10th anniversary project from CG studio Sanzigen (Arpeggio, Wooser) Oh no! Animator Expo Season 2 is expiring November 23, but Season 1 is available for a limited time before that. Unfortunately the production committee in Japan has asked streaming sites (including Crunchyroll) to take down the parody-heavy first episode of Mr. Osomatsu. Victoria's been catching up to determine her favorite of the -matsu sextuplets. Evan's a big original Black Jack fan, so he's been a little disappointed by Young Black Jack, but it's hilarious how much of a pretty-boy Black Jack is. He's also watching and reviewing Noragami A

Episode 19 – My Curry is a Pilot
09/11/2015 Duration: 41minThis week Evan and Victoria discuss sad teenagers in The Anthem of the Heart, Chris Brown's manga-"inspired" album cover, Tales of Zestiria, and the best way to get into older anime. Show Notes Chris Brown's latest album cover is a ripoff of a City Hunter cover. Victoria hasn't been watching a lot of anime because she's been busy playing Tales of Zesteria (but it's OK because it's SUPER anime). Evan dropped Beautiful Bones: Sakurako's Investigation because it's more simplistic than he had hoped. He watched Lily C.A.T. instead, and it's just Alien: The Anime. Evan also enjoyed The Anthem of the Heart, but was frustrated with its focus on the romantic plot. The episode title (and the dumb joke we made about it) is a reference to Minmay's song "My Boyfriend is a Pilot" ("Watashi no Kare wa Pilot") from the original Super Dimension Fortress Macross. You can find more episode of Crunchycast on Crunchyroll, iTunes, Stitcher Radio, and our Libsyn page. The Crunchycast is hosted by Victoria Holden and Evan Minto
