Synopsis
With AMC's Preacher wrapped up until next season, we'll be focusing on a movie per episode, as well as a question of the week.

Episode #60: Capote / Best Real Life Adaptations In Film and T.V.
12/11/2017 Duration: 01h33minThis week, we talked about the Oscar winning 2005 biopic, "Capote". The praise for Philip Seymour Hoffman was universal, but opinions on the movie itself differed - which resulted in the longest and most inappropriate movie list portion on the pod to date. In part 2, we talked about the best real life adaptations in T.V and film, and ended up sidetracking into discussion on the recent avalanche of sexual abuse allegations in Hollywood. It may not make for light, comic podcast material, but it's bound to make its way into the conversation on a movie and TV show. Next time, the question of the week is: "What older films have or have not aged over time and why?" Let us know your thoughts via the usual contact channels below. See you next time. Episode #59: The Thing / Horror Movie Sequels and Reboots That Are Worth Watching
30/10/2017 Duration: 01h39minThis week, we completed our trilogy of Halloween themed movies with John Carpenter's 1982 cult classic, "The Thing." The movie was lavished with praise, with the film's brilliance, impact and influence all discussed at great length. For part 2, we talked about horror movie sequels and reboots that are actually worth checking out. Next week, we'll be talking about the biopic 2005 picture, "Capote." For the question of the week, we'll be asking: "What are the best real life adaptations of people in TV and film?" Let us know your thoughts via the usual contact channels below. See you next time. Episode #58: A Nightmare On Elm Street / Cast Your Ultimate Horror Remake
22/10/2017 Duration: 01h44minThis week on the show, we talked about our second of three horror movies for the season of Halloween - Wes Craven's A Nightmare On Elm Street. Aside from an exceedingly dodgy ending, all three of us praised the film extensively. In part 2, we talked about casting our ultimate horror remakes. In a perfect world, there would be some potentially incredible remakes of 70's and 80's offerings of the genre, if we had our way! Next time, the question of the week is: What horror movie remakes and sequels are actually worth watching? Let us know your thoughts via the usual contact channels below. See you next time. Episode #57: Hellraiser / What Makes a Good Horror Movie?
15/10/2017 Duration: 01h45minThis week on the show, we began our trio of horror movies for Halloween season. Hellraiser left us somewhat underwhelmed overall, so here's hoping next week's offering will have a little more of what we're looking for. Speaking of which, part 2 of the show focused on what makes a good horror movie, with a huge amount of insight from a whole lot of people. By which I mean about 3 people outside of ourselves. Next time, the question of the week is: "Cast your ultimate horror remake." Let us know your thoughts via the usual contact channels below. See you next time. Episode #56: Back to the Future / 1985 - A Year in Film
08/10/2017 Duration: 01h49minThis week, we're finally back at the movies! We took on the sci-fi comedy classic Back to the Future in part one, which was lavished with praise, anecdotes and facts aplenty. In part 2, we discussed 1985 - A Year In Film - with Aidan actaully doing some preparation on the QOTW for a change! Next week, we'll be taking on our first of three horror movies for Halloween month with Mick's movie choice - Rob Zombie's House of 1000 Corpses. Under that same theme, our Question of the Week is: What makes a good horror movie? Let us know your thoughts via the usual contact channels below. See you next time. Episode #55: Backdoors / On Your Knees / The End of the Road
18/09/2017 Duration: 01h32minAfter a 3 week hiatus, we're back with the final three episodes of this season of Preacher. Our opinions varied somewhat on the episodes and the season overall, but it's fair to say we're sincerely hoping for a pickup of quality next year, assuming Preacher gets commissioned for another series. Since we had three episodes to cover, we had no question of the week this time. Next episode, we're back to movies again and the question of the week is: 1985 - a year in T.V. and Film. Let us know your thoughts via the usual contact channels below. See you next time. Episode #54: Dirty Little Secret / Best Use of Music in T.V. and Movies
27/08/2017 Duration: 01h32minThis week on Preacher, there was shock and jubilation in equal measure as Humperdoo miraculously made it to the show. The likes of the Westboro Baptist Church are no doubt having a field day with this one! For part 2, we talked about the best uses of music in TV and Film. Next episode, the question of the week is: 1985 - a year in T.V. and Film. Let us know your thoughts via the usual contact channels below. See you next time. Episode #53: Puzzle Piece / Favourite Porn Parody Movie Titles
21/08/2017 Duration: 01h19minThis week on Preacher, the pace was stepped up with plenty to gush over; from the wonderful stand off between The Grail and Cassidy and Jesse, to the development of Hoover and Featherstone, to that thrilling cliffhanger ending. Here's hoping they keep the momentum going for the remaining 4 episodes of the season. For part 2, we had a brief but nonetheless jolly old time citing off porn parody movie titles. Next episode's question of the week is: What are your favourite uses of music in TV and film? Let us know your thoughts via the usual contact channels below. See you next time. Episode #52: Holes / Favourite Quotes In Movies & T.V.
13/08/2017 Duration: 01h39minThis week for Preacher, there was more disappointment as the show spent another episode "spinning the wheels", as Mick succinctly put it. In part 2, we talked about favourite lines in movies and T.V. It was a simple question and the response was outstanding! For the next episode, our question of the week is: What are the best porn parody movie titles? Let us know your thoughts via the usual contact channels below. See you next time. Episode #51: Pig / Best & Worst Adaptations in T.V. and Film
08/08/2017 Duration: 01h22minThis week, for Preacher, there were finally some previously teased characters from the book fleshed out extensively, in the form of Herr Starr. The arguable void of The Saint of Killers looks like it will be filled comfortably with this particular addition. In part 2, we talked about the best and worst adaptations in T.V. and film. For the next episode, we're keeping things nice and simple for the Question of the Week: What are your favourite lines of dialogue in T.V. and film? Let us know your thoughts via the usual contact channels below. See you next time. Episode #50: Sokosha / Best & Worst Hero to Villain or Villain to Hero Characters
30/07/2017 Duration: 01h27minFor episode 50 of our podcast, Preacher mercifully made a return to form with the quality of their show this week. Between this and the trailer for the remainder of the season that we've watched off mic, it's fair to say that all three of us are pretty excited to see what Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg have done with the rest of the current series of Preacher. It should also be noted that around a year ago or so, Mick and Aidan had a bet on whether or not Eugene "Arseface" Root was actually in hell. The forfeit was that the loser had to sing a song of the other podcaster's choosing. Well, unfortunately for Mick, he lost, so buried somewhere within this very podcast episode is Mick singing Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up". We haven't been this excited since Aidan's dad sent us some recordings from Nashville a few months ago. For the question of the week, we talked about characters in movies and TV that have gone from good to evil and vice versa. Next episode's QOTW is: What are the best/worst adapta

Episode #49: Dallas / Unecessary Plot Points That Ruin a Movie or TV Show
23/07/2017 Duration: 01h30minThis week, there was largely disappointment all round for the latest episode of Preacher. Here's hoping next week pushes the season forward a lot more! For part two of the podcast, we discussed unnecessary plot points that bring down a TV show or a movie. For the next edition of the podcast, the question of the week is: Who are the best/worst characters that go from good to evil, or from evil to good? Let us know your thoughts via the usual contact channels below. See you next time. Episode #48: Viktor / Movies & T.V. Shows That You Loved as a Child
16/07/2017 Duration: 01h25minThis week on the show, Preacher's Viktor episode divided us somewhat, with the husband twist seeming like a potential dead end for that particular plotpoint for Mick. Meanwhile, the Arseface in hell storyline had all three of us enthralled. In the second half of the podcast, we talked about childhood favourites in movies and T.V. that we have gone back to, and waxed about the mixed results therein when revisiting that well of nostalgia. For the next episode, the question of the week is: What are the most unnecessary plot points that ultimately ruin the overall movie or T.V. show that they are in? Let us know your thoughts via the usual contact channels below. See you next time. Episode #47: Damsels / When Is It Okay to Talk About Spoilers?
09/07/2017 Duration: 01h47minThis week on the show, there was another bonus list from Aidan as well as a lengthy discussion on this weeks noir-tinged episode of Preacher. Meanwhile, part two featured a debate on the notion of spoilers in movies and TV. Not for the first time, the results of our QOTW were inconclusive! For the next episode, the question of the week is: What TV show/movie did you love as a child that you have i) Gone back to and still enjoyed ii) Gone back to and been disappointed by iii) Been too afraid to go back to in case you don't enjoy it as much as when you first saw it Let us know your thoughts via the usual contact channels below. Episode #46: On the Road / Mumbai Sky Tower
02/07/2017 Duration: 01h37minIt's been a month long absence, but we are back! And so is Preacher, conveniently enough. This episode deals with the first two offerings from this season of Preacher. Things are as fucked up as ever on Preacher, with varying results for the viewer, all of which we discuss at length. Since we ran a little longer than expected, there was no question of the week. We will be talking about the previously submitted QOTW from our last episode though, namely: When is it okay to talk about spoilers in movies and TV? Let us know your thoughts via the usual contact channels below. See you next time. Episode #45: Planet of the Apes / Ask Us Anything
02/06/2017 Duration: 01h55minIt's our 1 year anniversary! To celebrate, Joe and Aidan partook in the recently established podcast drinking game. Luckily, Mick decided to stay sober and was able to keep the podcast on track for the most part. This weeks film film was the sci-fi classic Planet of the Apes from 1968. The practical effects, political overtones and numerous sequels and spin offs were all discussed at length. Part 2 was our second mail bag edition! The questions received were many and varied - from the trivial to the profound to the profoundly fucked up! For the next episode, the question of the week is: When is it okay to talk about spoilers in movies and TV? Let us know your thoughts via the usual contact channels below. See you next time. Episode #44: Manos: The Hands of Fate / Movie Trailers Are Too Long
26/05/2017 Duration: 01h29minThis week we watched a movie so insanely bad that it went straight to the bottom of our list. Surprisingly though, Mick enjoyed it more than both Sharknado and The Room. Go figure! In part 2 we had a discussion on movie trailers and whether they're too long and give too much away these days. The answer is for the most part yes, yes they do. Next week, for our 1 year anniversary episode we're leaving the question of the week up to you, so you can ask us anything! Let us know your thoughts via the usual contact channels below. Episode #43: The Nice Guys / Movie Cliches
20/05/2017 Duration: 01h42minThis week on the show, there was some discussion on mental health following the untimely passing of Chris Cornell. Normally the podcast tends to be quite light in terms of heavy topics like suicide, but we felt it was crucial to talk about in the wake of an iconic musician that is so revered by our generation tragically taking his own life. If you need someone to talk to, confide in a friend, a family member or please call one of the contact numbers below: Samaritans: 116 123 Pieta House: 01-8831000 Meanwhile, we have now finally established the drinking game rules for the podcast! Tune in to find out all 14 rules..and counting! Feel free to suggest your own at the points of contact below. The question of the week focused on movie cliches. Next time, we're asking the following: Movie trailers - are they too long at this point? Do they give too much plot away? Let us know your thoughts via the usual contact channels below. Episode #42: Superbad / Why Do People Love Bad Movies?
12/05/2017 Duration: 01h37minThis week on the show, we talked about Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg's 2007 smash hit "Superbad." Mick's aversion to the flick has softened considerably, while Aidan's love of the film grew even more than even he had expected whilst watching the movie under a critical microscope. Meanwhile, Joe was forced to increase his top 10 facts list on the fly due to his podmates stealing them throughout the episode. For part 2, we asked: Why do people love bad movies? As per virtually every question of the week, the results were somewhat inconclusive. For the next episode, the question of the week is: What are your favourite/least favourite movie cliches? Let us know your thoughts via the usual contact channels below. See you next time. Episode #41: Franklyn / 2007 - A Year In Film
07/05/2017 Duration: 01h21minThis week we discussed Film 4's 2008 indie flick "Franklyn." After Sharknado last week, we were hoping to have our spirits lifted with a reminder of how great movies can actually be. Sadly, this ambition was not to realised with Franklyn. With Superbad up for discussion next week though, hopefully movie homework for the podcast will be far less of a chore for all involved! For part 2, we discussed films from 2007, with a whole bunch of comedies, questionable super hero movies and questionable choices for sitcom stars becoming involved in said movies talked about among many other things. For the next episode, the question of the week is: Why do bad movies and T.V. shows become popular? Let us know your thoughts via the usual contact channels below. See you next time.
