This week on the show, we did a shorter than usual episode, mostly because we couldn't settle on a question of the week! In part 1, it's fair to say we were bowled over by the excellent opening scene with a teenage Jesse - surely a sign of just how fucked up this season could end up getting. In part one of this episode, the Australian cult classic Muriel's Wedding was discussed, from the Abba slathered soundtrack to the humour and even the weirdness of the movie as a whole. This week on the show, in honour of the recent passing of R. Lee Ermey, we took on Stanley Kubrick's 1987 war epic, "Full Metal Jacket." Ermey's stellar performance aside, we found the second half of the movie somewhat patchy, to say the least.    In the second half, we discussed the best and worst war movies in general. The film left a lot to be desired, considering the lauded source material and was picked apart at length. This week on the show, in honour of our dear friend Rob O'Sullivan, who has recently had his birthday and is still fighting the good fight in hospital following his life changing car accident, we decided to take on Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li. This week on the podcast, for the third episode in a row, we opted to treat ourselves with another relatively recent gem of a movie, 2014’s darkly comic and thought provoking “Birdman Or (The Unexpected Virtue Of Ignorance)“. The largely one take camera style of the movie, the script, the fantastic acting and the interpretation of the title character were all picked apart at great length.    In part 2, we discussed the best and worst Oscar winners throughout the years. This week, we waxed on Terry Zwigoff's 2003 cult classic "Bad Santa". We covered the film's darkness, outrageous humour, plotholes...and the stupidity of certain parents of young children at the time of the movie's release.    For part 2, we got off to a quite frankly shambolic start with the question of the week. This week on the show, we had to double up on our Christmas choices, due to severe lack of time this month!   For part one, we took on John Landis' 1983 holiday classic, "Trading Places". Aside from a joke or two which have dated quite badly and some confusion over the ending, it's fair to say we all enjoyed the movie immensely.    For part 2, we bent the rules slightly by watching a Christmas T.V. special - the seminal 1965 "A Charlie Brown Christmas". There was talk on bullying as well as the bravery of the makers of the special.
