Synopsis
With AMC's Preacher wrapped up until next season, we'll be focusing on a movie per episode, as well as a question of the week.

Episode #80: The Tombs / The Coffin
25/07/2018 Duration: 01h25minThis week on the show, with scheduling issues from last week, we doubled up and talked about 2 episodes of Preacher back to back, opting to leave the question of the week for our next podcast episode. It's fair to say that for us, for the most part, the upward trajectory of quality for this season of Preacher continues unabated. If you want to know our overall Herr Starr ratings, though, you'll have to listen to the full episode! Join us for the next Preacher installment as well as the question of the week below in episode 81 of the pod: Question of the Week: Best and worst depictions of God and Satan in movies and T.V. See you next time. Keep on Preachin'! Episode #79: Gonna Hurt / Best & Worst Religious themed movies/tv
11/07/2018 Duration: 01h21minThis week on the show, we dove deep into another impressive season 3 episode of the show. In part 2, we discuss the crew's favourite (and not so favourite) religious themed movies and tv, which of course devolves into a discussion of Kevin Smith's back catalog Join us next week for the next episode of Preacher, as well as a discussion on the best and worst representations of God and The Devil on the big and small screen You can visit Ken's vlog channel here: https://www.youtube.com/user/KayKayVlogs Let us know your thoughts via the usual contact channels below. Episode #78: Sonsabitches / Season 3 Promotional Photos
03/07/2018 Duration: 47minThis week on the show, we did a shorter than usual episode, mostly because we couldn't settle on a question of the week! In part 1, it's fair to say we were bowled over by the excellent opening scene with a teenage Jesse - surely a sign of just how fucked up this season could end up getting. We still have no sign of Arseface or Hitler, but with Herr Starr's return, there was still plenty to keep us interested. In part 2, we discussed a pair of promotional photos on Preacher from AMC, speculating who's who in terms of as yet unseen new characters, as well as when to expect their entry into the show. Join us next week for the next episode of Preacher, as well as (hopefully) a new question of the week. Episode #77: Preacher Season 2 Recap / Angelville
27/06/2018 Duration: 01h10minThis week on the show, Preacher's back! We did a lengthy discussion on recapping season 2 - which read significantly better than the process of actually watching a lot of it last year. A binging re-watching sesh or two may be in order to reassess the season overall! In part 2, we discussed our thoughts on the season opener, the three major new characters introduced and where we hope for this season to go. We also did a frame by frame analysis of the spoilerific opening titles of this season in a further bid to guess what we can expect in the weeks to come from the show. Join us next week for episode two as well as a question of the week! Episode #76: Muriel's Wedding / 1994 - A Year in Film
28/05/2018 Duration: 01h38minIn part one of this episode, the Australian cult classic Muriel's Wedding was discussed, from the Abba slathered soundtrack to the humour and even the weirdness of the movie as a whole. Not to mention how surprisingly enjoyable we found it. In part 2 we talked about 1994 as a year in film overall - and it was a positively stacked entry for beloved movies. We will, unfortunately, have to put the planned discussion on Blade Runner 2049 on hold for the next month or two because...Preacher's back! Join us later this week for our recap of season 2 as well as our discussion on the opening episode of season 3. Episode #75: Full Metal Jacket / Best & Worst War Movies
07/05/2018 Duration: 01h21minThis week on the show, in honour of the recent passing of R. Lee Ermey, we took on Stanley Kubrick's 1987 war epic, "Full Metal Jacket." Ermey's stellar performance aside, we found the second half of the movie somewhat patchy, to say the least. In the second half, we discussed the best and worst war movies in general. For all your Apocolypse Now's, there's clearly some stinkers out there that have serious potential for a future bad movie on this podcast. Next week on the show, we've finally taken the repeated suggestion of 1994's Muriel's Wedding from Edel Níc Cába. Our question of the week will be: 1994: A Year in Film and T.V. Episode #74: Pokémon: The First Movie: Mewtwo Strikes Back / Pokemon and Its Cultural Influence
30/04/2018 Duration: 01h33minThis week on the show, we took on the first feature length (of close to 20 since 1998!) movie adaptation of Pokémon, with "Pokémon: The First Movie: Mewtwo Strikes Back." The film left a lot to be desired, considering the lauded source material and was picked apart at length. In part 2, we talked about all things Pokémon with our question of the week: Pokemon and it’s cultural influence since its launch in 1996 Join us in the next episode for Full Metal Jacket. Our question of the week will be: Best and Worst War Movies. Episode #73: Street Fighter: the Legend of Chun Li / Best & Worst Video Game Movies
09/04/2018 Duration: 01h35minThis week on the show, in honour of our dear friend Rob O'Sullivan, who has recently had his birthday and is still fighting the good fight in hospital following his life changing car accident, we decided to take on Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li. We chose this movie because Rob is a massive Street Fighter fan (although the same cannot be said for Rob or any of us regarding this awful, awful movie). In the second half, we discussed the best and worst video game movie adaptations in general, with the consensus being that many are terrible, with only a few being decent at best. Stay tuned to our social media feeds to see what we're doing on the next episode. Episode #72: Birdman Or (The Unexpected Virtue Of Ignorance) / Best & Worst Oscar Winners
19/03/2018 Duration: 01h31minThis week on the podcast, for the third episode in a row, we opted to treat ourselves with another relatively recent gem of a movie, 2014’s darkly comic and thought provoking “Birdman Or (The Unexpected Virtue Of Ignorance)“. The largely one take camera style of the movie, the script, the fantastic acting and the interpretation of the title character were all picked apart at great length. In part 2, we discussed the best and worst Oscar winners throughout the years. Some movies get lauded with praise for good reason. Others favoured by the Academy remain a mystery. Join us next time for an extraordinarily bad movie for a change of pace. We will also be posting a question of the Week once we decide on it! Episode #71: Baby Driver / Best Vehicles in Movies & T.V.
14/03/2018 Duration: 01h34minThis week on the pod, we talked on Edgar Wright's outstanding 2017 feature, "Baby Driver". The film was picked apart and largely lavished with praise, with the exception of only minor gripes on the movie. In the second half, we talked about the best vehicles in film and television history. From the aesthetically pleasing to the novelty to the absurd, a hell of a lot of bases were covered. For next week's episode, we will be talking about Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance). For the question of the week, we're asking: What are the best and worst Oscar movie winners over the years? Let us know any thoughts via the usual contact channels below. See you next time. Episode #70: It / What Are Your Greatest Fears?
25/02/2018 Duration: 01h54minAlong with our rarely heard from yet frequently mentioned special guest Edel Níc Cába, this week on the show, we talked about the 2017 incarnation of Stephen King's "It", with the movie being justifiably lavished with praise. We also compared and contrasted the book against the movie, as though it were a leaving cert English assignment, but hopefully in as entertaining and pithy a manner as possible! In part 2, we talked about people's greatest fears and Aidan's sign-off tagline was finally successfully stolen, but by whom?! Next week, we'll be discussing Edgar Wright's "Baby Driver". The question of the week will be: What are the greatest vehicles in movies & T.V.? Let us know any thoughts via the usual contact channels below. See you next time. Episode #69 : Deep Throat / Ask Us Anything
19/02/2018 Duration: 01h11minThis week on the show, we took on the inexplicably infamous porn film "Deep Throat". The discussion turned from light-hearted to deeply depressing in light of anecdotes online from the films main star, Linda Lovelace. In part 2, we went with the much more PG friendly question of Ask Us Anything. And ask you did - from the ridiculous to the profound question, we covered a lot of bases. Next week on the podcast, we'll be talking about Stephen King's "It" (the 2017 version). Let us know any thoughts via the usual contact channels below. See you next time. Episode #68: American Graffiti / George Lucas - A Career In Film
06/02/2018 Duration: 01h34minThis week, we took on George Lucas' American Graffiti, before taking on the career of the man himself in part 2. It's fair to say that we have somewhat of a love/hate relationship with Lucas, overall. For the next episode, since we'll be on episode 69 and have the maturity of a couple of 14 year olds, we'll be talking about the infamous 1972 skin-flick, "Deep Throat". For the question of the week, we're turning the mics back to you lovely people: Ask us anything! Let us know any thoughts via the usual contact channels below. See you next time. Episode #67: The Wizard of Oz / Best & Worst Movie Musicals
15/01/2018 Duration: 01h36minThis week on the show, we took on the 1939 groundbreaking classic "The Wizard of Oz". Facts, music and costumes all came up in the conversation, as well as the most divided ranking list discussion in about 6 months! For part 2, there was a lengthy discussion on the best and worst musicals of all time. If we learned one thing, it's that a hell of of people despise Tim Burton's "Sweeney Todd"! For the next episode we'll be talking about George Lucas's American Graffiti. And our question of the week is: George Lucas - A Career In Film Let us know any thoughts via the usual contact channels below. See you next time. Episode #66: Movies & T.V. Shows to Look Forward to or Avoid in 2018
07/01/2018 Duration: 01h24minIn an effort to ease our way into 2018, we decided to look ahead to see what's coming our way this year and decide what we should be most excited about as well as what to avoid at all costs! Join us next week for our regularly scheduled programming, where we'll talk about the 1939 classic "The Wizard of Oz". And keep your eyes peeled on our social media feeds for the question of the week. Let us know any thoughts via the usual contact channels below. See you next time. Episode #65: The Star Wars Holiday Special / 2017 - A Year In Review
02/01/2018 Duration: 02h06minThis week on the show, we took on the absolute abomination that is The Star Wars Holiday Special. To explain why we tore it apart to the degree that we did, well...put it this way - The Phantom Menace is no longer the worst Star Wars feature ever made as far as we're concerned after watching this shit. In part 2, we were (thankfully) far more prepared for the question of the week - 2017 in review; so much so that this may be our longest ever episode! Keep an eye on our social media feeds for the movie we'll be taking on next as well as the next question of the week. For now though, Happy New Year and thank you for listening! Episode #64: Bad Santa / Best & Worst Depictions of Santa In T.V. & Film
26/12/2017 Duration: 01h26minThis week, we waxed on Terry Zwigoff's 2003 cult classic "Bad Santa". We covered the film's darkness, outrageous humour, plotholes...and the stupidity of certain parents of young children at the time of the movie's release. For part 2, we got off to a quite frankly shambolic start with the question of the week. Sometimes flying by the seat of our pants works out just fine for us...and sometimes a severe barrel scraping sesh ends up happening, but you'll have to forgive us - after all, it's Christmas! Tune in next time for a hopefully far better prepared podcast, particularly on the question of the week! Episode #63: Trading Places / A Charlie Brown Christmas / Best & Worst Christmas Movies
17/12/2017 Duration: 02h04minThis week on the show, we had to double up on our Christmas choices, due to severe lack of time this month! For part one, we took on John Landis' 1983 holiday classic, "Trading Places". Aside from a joke or two which have dated quite badly and some confusion over the ending, it's fair to say we all enjoyed the movie immensely. For part 2, we bent the rules slightly by watching a Christmas T.V. special - the seminal 1965 "A Charlie Brown Christmas". There was talk on bullying as well as the bravery of the makers of the special. This kind of thing would most likely not be made today - it may be hilarious and heartwarming, but it's also dark as hell! For part 3, we asked: "What are the best and worst Christmas movies?" Keep your eyes peeled on Facebook and Twitter for next episodes's Question of the Week. Let us know any thoughts via the usual contact channels below. See you next time. Episode #62: Metropolis / Films & T.V. Shows That Have or Have Not Aged
03/12/2017 Duration: 01h58minThis week, Aidan's back! We talked on a 90 year old silent sci-fi movie from Germany that is partially lost in terms of footage through the years. It was an interesting viewing, to say the least! For part 2, we had a lengthy discussion on movies and T.V. shows that have and have not aged through the years. Next week, we have yet to settle on a question of the week, so keep yr eyes peeled on Facebook and Twitter for that. Let us know any thoughts via the usual contact channels below. See you next time. Episode #61: Third Wheel

If it went really well, Aidan could very well be in trouble for next week! Join us for a discussion on the movie Metropolis on the next episode. Next time, the question of the week is: "What older films have or have not aged over time and why?" Let us know your thoughts via the usual contact channels below. See you next time.
