Episode #40: Sharknado / The Perfect Length For a Movie
27/04/2017 Duration: 01h46minLast week we talked about a holocaust epic and while we were positively mesmerised and strongly impacted by Schindler's List, we struggled to make jokes during the film portion of the podcast - something which is understandable if slightly impractical for what is usually a comedy show. This week we went in the polar opposite direction and talked about Sharknado. Luckily, there was plenty to make fun of in this bloody stupid film. It was like shooting a proverbial fish in a barrel, in fact. For part 2, we talked about the optimum length for a movie, with conclusions lying in the type of genre that the movie actually is - unless it's The Wolf of Wall Street, anything over 2 hours is generally a pretty bad idea for a comedy! For the next episode, we're turning the clock back 10 years, so the question of the week is: 2007: what are your memories on it? The best/worst things to come from the year and any other 2007 related content welcome. Let us know your thoughts via the usual contact channels below.

Episode #39: Schindler's List / CGI Vs. Practical Effects In Movies & T.V.
21/04/2017 Duration: 01h33minSo this week, things got heavy with Schindler's List; a film which none of us had actually seen before. The films impact, legacy, aunthenticity and the fact that it is the best film we've talked about so far on this podcast were all discussed at great length. Meanwhile, on part 2, things got much lighter, with a discussion CGI Vs. practical effects in movies and T.V. The conclusion seemed to be more less that poor filmmaking choices will fuck up your movie or T.V. show far more easily with questionable CGI. For the next episode, the question of the week is: What is the perfect length for a movie? Let us know your thoughts via the usual contact channels below. See you next time. Episode #38: Space Jam / Actors & Actresses Who Have Dropped Off The A-List
15/04/2017 Duration: 01h32minHey everyone! This week on the show, we talk about childhood favourite Space Jam. The questionable acting of the sportsmen in the the film as well as viewing the flick as an adult versus viewing it as a child are all discussed, not to mention the justifiable love lavished towards the wonderful Bill Murray. For part 2, we discussed actors and actresses who were once revered but are now making less than stellar work, or who have even fallen off mainstream Hollywood's radar altogether. Next episode the question of the week is: Is CGI the death knell of cinema and T.V.? Or, CGI vs. Practical effects - discuss! Let us know your thoughts via the usual contact channels below. Episode #37: Popstar: Never Stop, Never Stopping / Movie & T.V. Mistakes
07/04/2017 Duration: 01h30minThis week on the show, the movie of choice was The Lonely Island's 2016 mocumentary offering, "Popstar: Never Stop, Never Stopping." The film was quoted and discussed at length and unfortunately for fanboy Aidan, opinions were divided on the flick. For part 2, the gang discussed their favourite mistakes in movies and T.V. shows. Hollywood fucks up far more than you would expect, as it turns out! Next episode, the question of the week is: What actors and actresses have fallen from the A-list in recent years and why? Let us know your thoughts via the usual contact channels below. See you next time. Episode #36: Anvil: The Story of Anvil / Best & Worst T.V. & Movie Theme Tunes
02/04/2017 Duration: 01h27minThis week on the pod, we tackled our first documentary, with "Anvil: The Story of Anvil." There was positive feedback generally speaking, even if the majority of the gang found the film depressing. The second part of the pod went into more lighthearted territory, with best and worst T.V. and movie themes under discussion. For the next episode, the question of the week is: What are your favourite mistakes in movies and T.V.? Let us know your thoughts via the usual contact channels below. See you next time. Episode #35: Mystery Science Theater 3000 - Space Mutiny / Favourite Movie & T.V. Villains
26/03/2017 Duration: 01h11minThis week on the show, we decided to do things a little differently, by watching an episode of Mystery Science Theater 3000. Now, you may argue that a podcast about movies literally talking about a show about movies is redundant, but it's hard to give a fuck when the offering of MST 3K in question is this much fun. In part 2, we discussed a whole lot of T.V. and movie villains. For the next episode, the question of the week is: What are the best/worst movie and T.V. themes? Let us know your thoughts via the usual contact channels below. See you next time. Episode #34: Beauty and the Beast / Live Action Adaptations of Animated Movies and T.V. Shows
17/03/2017 Duration: 02h06minThis episode, we talked on the 1991 Disney classic Beauty and the Beast, which tied in perfectly with the question of the week on live action adaptations of animated movies and tv shows. We we also featured a one off segment on our own ranking of the movies we have watched so far in aid of this very podcast. This led to even more arguements on the likes of The Room, as well as establishing the benchmark of movies on this podcast as either above or below John Carpenter's Halloween for some strange reason. For the next episode, the question of the week is: Who is the greatest villain in cinematic history? Let us know your thoughts via the usual contact channels below. See you next time. Episode #33: Super Mario Bros. / Underrated Horror & Comedy Movies
11/03/2017 Duration: 01h20minThis week on the show, we watched a terrible film so you don't have to and subsequently ripped it to shreds. With the recent release of the Nintendo Switch, we decided to tackle the only live action movie adapted from a Nintendo game to date: Super Mario Bros. Several of the many things wrong with the film are discussed in detail, with perhaps the only redeeming factor generally agreed as being the two lead actors' performances. This was no mean feat, especially given what they had to work with. For part 2, we discussed why horror and comedy movies aren't as respected as their drama counterparts among critics and award shows alike. For the next episode, the question of the week is: What is your opinion on live adaptations of animated movies? Let us know your thoughts via the usual contact channels below. See you next time. Episode #32: Apollo 13 / Oscar Results 2017
03/03/2017 Duration: 01h32minThis week, Super Mario Bros got a raincheck in favour of Apollo 13, given Bill Paxton's untimely passing. The talk on the movie ranged from the true nature of the story, to space exploration in general, to asking why man hasn't landed on the moon since 1972. The question of the week meanwhile, was on this years Oscar results. Luckily, even if you'd seen only a fraction of the nominated movies like we had, there was still plenty to talk about! Nezt episode, the question of the week is: Why do horror, comedy and super hero movies not get the recognition that they deserve at awards ceremonies? Let us know your thoughts via the usual contact channels below. See you next time. Episode #31: Pulp Fiction / Movie Franchises & T.V. Shows That Ended Prematurely
26/02/2017 Duration: 01h46minFor this week, we took on Quentin Tarantino's masterpiece "Pulp Fiction." It was lavished with praise as you can expect, with flaws coming few and far between aside from the character of Fabienne (she's an absolute head wrecker in fairness). We also discussed T.V. shows and movie franchises that ended prematurely with controversial opinions such as Die Hard and Dexter even being suggested as ending too soon. For the next episode, the question of the week is: What are your thoughts on this years Academy Awards results? Let us know your thoughts via the usual contact channels below. See you next time. Keep on Preachin'! https://www.facebook.com/preachinonpreacher/ https://twitter.com/PreachinPod preachinonpreacher@gmail.com Theme is Brace by CSoul ft:iamnotlefthanded. http://dig.ccmixter.org/files/CSoul/510

Episode #30: Enter the Dragon / Jumping the Shark in Movies & T.V. Shows
18/02/2017 Duration: 01h19minThis week, we talked about the 1970's martial arts classic Enter the Dragon, from the paper thin plot, to Bruce Lee's character's invincibility, to how well it's holding up, some 44 years later. Meanwhile, the question of the week focused on movies and T.V. shows that don't know when enough is enough, and outstay their welcome or end up jumping the shark, so to speak. For the next episode, we're essentially asking the inverse of that: What movie franchises and T.V. shows left us all too soon? Examples: Freaks and Geeks or Clerks III.

Episode #29: Trainspotting / Ask Us Anything
11/02/2017 Duration: 01h32minSo this week, there were gifts given to the Preachers as well as our very first mailbag type question of the week, something which we will no doubt revisit again soon! Film wise, we talked all things Trainspotting, from the iconic status of the film, to the soundtrack, to its pop-cultural impact and even briefly touching on the recent sequel to the movie. For the next episode, the question of the week is: What movie franchises and TV shows have jumped the shark at this point? For example, the Pirates of the Caribbean series. Let us know your thoughts via the usual contact channels below. See you next time. Episode #28: Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb / Oscar Nominations 2017
07/02/2017 Duration: 01h11minThis week was a rather hungover podcast, since we were all on the sesh on the previous night to this recording. Still, we managed to cobble together an episode including dissections of the 1964 comedy classic Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb as well as this years Academy Award nominees. Expect a more detailed discussion of the Oscars once the ceremony is over, at which point we'll hopefully have actually watched some of the nominated films! For the question of the week for the next episode, we've kept it nice and broad: Ask us anything! Let us know your thoughts via the usual contact channels below. See you next time. Episode #27: Crazy, Stupid, Love. / Donald Trump - What's the Worst That Could Happen?
27/01/2017 Duration: 01h33minThis week, we went for more Ryan Gosling, with 2011's quirky romantic comedy "Crazy, Stupid, Love." It's fair to say our man crushes on Gosling have only been increased by the viewing and discussion of another one of his performances. Meanwhile, the question of the week focused on Donald Trump, with his inauguration as president occurring 6 days prior to this recording. The Trump Talk(TM) was unsurprisingly long, funny, baffling and occasionally terrifying. Next episode, the question of the week is: What are your thoughts on the Oscar nominations this year? Below is a link to a list of the nominees. https://www.theguardian.com/film/2017/jan/24/oscars-2017-full-list-of-nominations-awards-movies Let us know your thoughts via the usual contact channels below. Episode #26: Drive / CGI On Actors in Movies
22/01/2017 Duration: 01h22minThis week, we discussed the relatively recent cult favourite "Drive". The visual style, the soundtrack and the violence of the movie is all discussed in detail, along with Joe's Top 10 Facts, which this week was tragically shortened to 8 and a half. Meanwhile, the question of the week was on the use of CGI in movies to revive deceased actors, or to reduce the age of living ones. Much like the TV license question from a few episodes ago, the results were quite frankly inconclusive! Apologies for the lost intro of the episode, which somehow disappeared in the ether of podcast heaven! Next episode, in light of this month's events, the question of the week is: Donald Trump: What's the worst that could happen? Let us know via the usual contact channels below. See you next time. Episode #25: Blade Runner / New Year's Resolutions
14/01/2017 Duration: 01h08minThis week, we talked all things Blade Runner, from the 1982 movie to the 1997 PC point and click video game. Meanwhile, the question of the week was on New Years Resolutions. For the next episode, the question of the week is: Using CGI to replicate deceased actors or reduce a living actors age - a positive or negative thing? Let us know via the usual contact channels below. Episode #24: The Muppet Christmas Carol / New Year's Eve
23/12/2016 Duration: 01h15minFor the final episode of 2016 and indeed the final Christmas movie related pod for the year, we've gone with The Muppet Christmas Carol! It was an emotional rollercoaster for all involved, even for those of us who had seen the movie literally dozens of times before! Meanwhile, the question of the week was on New Year's Eve, with invaluable feedback as usual from social media and Facebook live, so thanks everyone! Next time, the question of the week is: New Year's Resolutions: What ones do you have for 2017 and which resolutions have worked or failed for you in the past? Let us know via the usual contact channels below. Episode #23: Home Alone / Christmas Traditions
18/12/2016 Duration: 01h12minAnother week in December. For us, that means another Christmas movie! This time, the cult classic Home Alone gets a thorough discussion, from questionable family values and behaviour, to frankly stupid alternate plot points that never made it off the script to the finished film. Meanwhile, the question of the week resulted in a broad spectrum of feedback from social media, even potentially giving us a few ideas for brand new Christmas traditions to embrace this year ourselves! Next episode, we're asking about New Year's Eve, specifically: Is New Years Eve a highlight of the social calendar or an over-hyped waste of an evening? Let us know via the usual contact channels below. Episode #22: Die Hard / Paying For a T.V. License
11/12/2016 Duration: 01h16minThis week, we were suffering from the flu, a hangover and exhaustion, but we still got it together to make the podcast! Die Hard was justifiably lavished with praise and the discussion moved from there to the Die Hard franchise in general, as well as the future of the series. The question of the week was "Why are we paying for a T.V. license?" It was debated from original RTÉ programming, to sports coverage and even to political news broadcasts. Next episode, the question of the week is: "What is your Chistmas tradition?" Please let us know via the contact links below. See you next week. Episode #21: Jaws / Separating the Art From the Artist
04/12/2016 Duration: 01h11minFor episode 21, contrary to the last 2 weeks where we've talked about infamously bad movies or relatively recent beloved comic book movies, we're now back to another seminal classic, with Stephen Spielberg's undisputable masterpiece, Jaws. For the question of the week, we asked if you can separate the art from the artist. The results were, quite frankly, inconclusive. For the next episode, the question of the week is: Why are we paying for a TV license? Please let us know your thoughts at the usual contact points below. See you next week. Keep on preachin'! https://www.facebook.com/preachinonpreacher/ https://twitter.com/PreachinPod preachinonpreacher@gmail.com Theme is Brace by CSoul ft:iamnotlefthanded. http://dig.ccmixter.org/files/CSoul/51073
