26/01/2017 Duration: 12minSome changes are on the way for Toronto police. A report, Action Plan: The Way Forward, is being released Thursday afternoon at the Police Services board meeting. The document looks at ways to modernize the force, and will include plans for information technology, facilities and other resources to bring it up to date. The report from the Transformation Task Force, which was set up nearly a year ago, is also expected to include information about investments in technology, human resources and other areas, to support its recommendations. Mike McCormack, President of the Toronto Police Association, explains what the task force has recommended, and how the "beat cop" has a place on Toronto's streets in 2017.

Six-year-old Syed Adam Ahmed of Markham faces constant trouble whenever he travels because his name happens to appear on the “Deemed High Profile List.” Federal Public Safety Minister Ralph Goodale has promised a full investigation of the boy’s case. Ahmed's parents have never received a straight answer as to why their son is considered a flight risk. It was an Air Canada agent that tipped the parents off to the problem when he was a toddler. And he is not the only one. According to NoFlyListKids.ca, there are 55 children on the "No-Fly List", and counting. Should there be an age restriction on putting people on the "No-Fly List", or is anyone subject to being watched? 25/01/2017 Duration: 09minA North Carolina man is attempting to save the McLaughlin Planetarium from being demolished as the University of Toronto expands. The planetarium was opened in 1968. Jeff Balmer, an architecture professor and a former Toronto resident, who now works at University of North Carolina at Charlotte, has fond memories of visiting the building as a child. He claims that visiting the Planetarium when he was young played a big influence on his life. “The building is a fantastic example of mid-century architecture. It’s a real masterwork and it would be a terrible loss for that building to be demolished,” he told CityNews via Skype on Tuesday. “The city ought to have a major planetarium like it did in the past. [Toronto] is the largest city in North America without a significant planetarium,” Balmer said. While the building does present a historical significance, declining attendance at the McLaughlin Planetarium caused it to close it's doors in 1995.
