Stamets was able to bring Discovery back to its universe but unfortunately he overshot in time by 9 months and in those nine months there has been a brutal and relentless effort by the various houses of the Klingon empire to bring the Federation to its Knees as updated maps show that nearly 20% of Federation space is now occupied. Captain Saru is faced with bringing the ship back to full operations and we get follow ups on everyone’s condition and state of mind especially Tyler who seems to be himself again and he decides to keep the Empress a secret for the time being. Just when things seem like they can’t get more interesting Admiral Cornwall beams aboard with an assault team to take the Discovery because as far as she was concerned the Discovery was destroyed 9 months ago. After a mind meld with Saru - Sarek succinctly sheds light on the situation and the crew get to work immediately with how they can turn the tide of the war but Admiral Cornwall fears its too late until the Federation is given a proposal

Star Trek Discovery wraps up (mostly) its Mirror Universe story arc with a bang, in this episode we come to understand Lorca's plan and he successfully captures the throne for a moment before being gloriously defeated by Emperor Georgiou played by the fabulous Michelle Yoeh. Jonathan Frakes, helms the discovery from behind the scenes into the Mirror Universe and we get what is possibly the most Star Trek feeling episode of Discovery yet. Find out what the Starfleet Boy crew think of this exciting episode and remember Spoilers ahead.

After the mission at Pahvo proves to be a failure, Starfleet orders Captain Lorca to bring the discovery into the safety of Federation space even though that means the Pahvans will surely meet their doom at the hands of the Klingons, so instead, Captain Lorca feigns problems with his spore drive to buy the crew time to come up with a solution. The solution the come up with is quite complex but its the best they've got and so they get right to it, hoping their efforts will end the war by disabling the one advantage the Klingons have over the Federation, a cloaking screen. The crew are successful and they even manage to recover Admiral Cornwall and manage to capture the Klingon L'Rell along the way, but it comes at great cost to poor Commander Tyler and just when we think they'll get a rest, the Discovery jumps to an unknown place that is not registering on any star charts. Is she in another dimension, or universe, perhaps the mirror Universe, perhaps the prime timeline? We'll have to wait till January 7th to f

We come to it at last, the mid season finale of Star Trek Discovery or the end of Chapter 1 as the show would have us call it. Everything starts off routine as the Discovery desperately tries to save the Gagarin from destruction and fails in a not so bad battle except for the wrongness of the ships. All of a sudden out of nowhere the federation realize that a giant naturally occurring antenna on a planet called Pahvo is the answer to all their problems with the Klingons. If the transmitter can be re-configured to send out a different frequency it can act like sonar revealing the position of every cloaked ship in the entire quadrant. Burnham, Saru and Tyler are dispatched to complete this mission when they discover that Pahvo is not uninhabited by an advanced as previously thought, the Pahvans who exist in an non-corporeal state are quite friendly, or so it seems and even try to help poor Saru who is going mad from the constant sounds emanated by the planet and the naturally occurring transmitter. In this episode, we are presented with a Michael Burnham who has settled into some kind of routine on the Discovery and it is revealed that the Federation is winning the war against the Klingons because of this singularly extraordinary ship. Then, what seems like an unusual but routine spotting of an endangered species, called a Gormegander (space Whale) triggers a bizarre series of events involving none other than Harry Mudd, who has obtained a device that uses time crystals to repeat 30 minutes over and over again so that he can unlock the secrets of the the Discovery’s spore drive and sell it to the Klingons. Fortunately for the crew Lt. Stamets is immune to the effects because of his melding with the Tardigrade and after many attempts is able to help the crew (through Michael Burnham) thwart Harry Mudd’s plan. Sarek is badly injured when a diplomatic mission is sabotaged by a Vulcan extremist and Micheal Burnham's unique link to him through his Katra allows her to become aware of his peril. The discovery rushes to his aide and in the meantime Captain Lorca is faced with some tough situations when he's forced to confront his problems by his friend, Admiral Cornwell In the end Sarek is safe and Burnham discovers a secret he's been holding on to for many years simultaneously endearing him to her further and threatening more alienation. Poor Ripper, the reluctant mycelial network navigator is showing signs of depression and stress and Michael Burnham is very concerned about him. Meanwhile Starfleet command is building more spore-drives and they want more Tardigrades to power the fleet with instant travel.

The Dilithium Mining operation on Corovan II is under attack by the Klingons and Discovery hasn’t long to get its Displacement Activated Spore Hub Drive or DASH drive operational. While this eludes the crew, we also find Voq and L’Rell and the crew of T’Kuvma’s ship starving and adrift for 6 months in Federation space (completely vulnerable but also completely safe somehow)

6 months after the incident that plummeted the federation into a war with the Klingons, we find Michael Burnham (now a prisoner) on her way to a dilithium mine as part of a prison labor force. After a mishap aboard her shuttle we find her and fellow prisoners rescued by the U.S.S. Discovery and so our adventure begins on board the show's namesake.
