Incompetence is usually a sign people are doing too much and amazingly the solution often is to do less!
19/05/2016 Duration: 09minIncompetence is often a sign that people are doing too much, and amazingly the solution usually is to stop doing so much. This is an idea that often runs counter-intuitive to how we think, based on the assumption that I am a lazy person who doesn't want to do anything. For example, what do you automatically assume when your child isn't getting good grades in school? I know I thought I needed to study harder, get a tutor, do the extra things necessary to do better in school. The problem is incompetence usually stems from not doing the right work and doing too many unnecessary things. The other day when I was at the bank I received what I perceived to be incompetent service. However, upon second thought I realized that the bank representatives must have a ton on their mind, and this allowed me to be more understanding and put everything into proper perspective. What I give is what I receive.
18/05/2016 Duration: 10minAll that I give is given to myself. This is why I do these inspirational videos. When I share the love & understanding in these videos, I receive it. In other words, everything I give is given back to me. These videos help me practice giving what I want to receive. I was motivated to start creating these inspirational videos because it was something I wish I had growing up to watch each day. I like to watch videos just like this, videos created in a loving spirit. The things I consume are a product of what I can give back. When I started believing in death, I lost my life. When I stopped believing in death, I got it back.
17/05/2016 Duration: 12minIn the 3rd grade while I was reading a book on the couch, I remember the moment when I started believing in death. My grandfather had just died, and suddenly realized that I could die. Before the passing of my grandpa I didn't know I could die because I was surrounded by life. I had no evidence first hand of death. Today I'm grateful to not believe in death, at least not in the conventional meaning of the word, and this gives me the ability to fully live my life today. What is the most disliked video of all time and what can we learn from it?
16/05/2016 Duration: 07minWhat is the #1 most disliked YouTube video of all time? Justin Bieber's Baby ft. Ludacris has over 6 million dislikes! However, that being said it also has over a billion views. What is even more incredible is the Official Call of Duty Infinite Warfare Reveal Trailer has 2 million dislikes with only 20 million total views. That means 10% of the people who watched the video disliked it! So, what can we take away from this? In comparison, the Battlefield 1 Official Reveal Trailer has been well received, and it's because the first person shooter will take place during World War 1. For years fans have been clamoring for a return to the older style of warfare, or at the very least to modern combat. Call of Duty chose to continue on with the futuristic warfare approach, and while I'm sure they will still sell plenty of copies of the game, the developers continue to ignore their fans. I was at the most miserable stages of my life when I ignored those around me, and continued on trying to do things my own way, often

14/05/2016 Duration: 10minThe things that annoy me about other people show me what I really believe about myself. The is one of the weirdest ideas I have come across in my adult life and it is hard to believe at first, but once you are able to understand what you do no like about yourself it is much easier to be loving and accepting of others. What greater treasures can we have than faith, courage, and love?
13/05/2016 Duration: 14minWhat greater treasures can we have in our lives today than love, faith, and courage? Aren't all the material things we chase really an effort to get faith, courage, and love? I know that most of my adult life I was obsessed with money, having a great job, and the material side of life. I thought that to be respected and be attractive to women I had to achieve these things, then the faith, courage, and love would follow. Today, I am thankful to see that faith, courage, and love are the ultimate gifts in life, and having these makes you more attractive to others. A deeper look at the past: why I like to keep an open mind regarding history.
08/05/2016 Duration: 11minA deeper look at history can provide peace of mind and even excitement about what exists today. I have spent most of my life with a narrow, self-righteous view of history, and I was overly accepting of the version of history I was taught in school. Today I am thankful to have more of an open mind regarding new ideas about history! There is nothing wrong with you!
04/05/2016 Duration: 01minCan you see the next slide without disagreeing? There is nothing wrong with me. Why is that so hard to agree with? For me it is easier to start with you. There is nothing wrong with you. That I can agree with. I can see how you are perfect. What you see as wrong with you, I see as what makes you interesting. There is nothing you could tell me, that would stop me from loving you. I love you and everyone else because that is the only hope I have for loving me. Even if you dislike my videos, delete me as a friend, leave a one star review on my courses, I see you doing the best you can. What is really hard for me to do is be able to look in the mirror and see that there is nothing wrong with me. The only thing that makes it easier is proving everyday how lovable I must be, based on how lovable your are, and knowing that I am just like you. With a good attitude, the things I want are given to me.
02/05/2016 Duration: 13minWhen you have a peaceful, happy, agreeable attitude the things you want will come to you with seemingly no effort. This may sound crazy, and I never would have believed this as a young adult. I grew up thinking I would have to work hard and make sacrifices to get things I wanted out of life. I told myself I would then be thankful upon receiving what I wanted. This was especially true when I was dating. There were times I desperately wanted a girlfriend, but at the time I wasn't worth dating because I wasn't a very pleasant person. It wasn't until I started acting like a good boyfriend that I found my wife Laura. If you want something in life, you must first be willing to play the part! Death was what I worked so hard to achieve most of my life.
01/05/2016 Duration: 14minDeath was what I worked so hard to achieve most of my life. This on the surface may sound a bit extreme, so let me explain a bit more what I mean by this. As a young adult I worked hard to achieve a life of no limitations. I wanted to be able to do whatever I wanted, be whatever I wanted, and go wherever I wanted. Ultimately, I wanted to reach a point of security were I didn't have to work for anything. I wanted to be in a place free from pain, suffering, and consequence for my actions. So, what does this sound like? To me, this sounds like being dead. Honesty and effort instead of success and failure!
30/04/2016 Duration: 09minToday, I replace the words success and failure with honestly and effort. This makes a big difference in my life today because it helps me to focus on the things I can control. I used to think of everything in my life as a zero-sum game. In other words, I either succeeded or failed, and the effort I put into failure equated to a waste of time. I am thankful today to be able to focus on the honesty and effort I put into my work because it allows me to live a simple, peaceful life today. Life is filled with everyday opportunities for faith.
29/04/2016 Duration: 12minLife is filled with everyday opportunities for faith in yourself, those around, and your higher power. As a young adult I lacked faith, and life was difficult. When I use the word faith I don't necessarily mean in terms of a specific religion or god, I like to think of faith as a principle to live by. When you don't have faith in your life, you will often second guess yourself, be overly skeptical of others, and be mistrusting of those around you. I am thankful to have faith in my life today, and this empowers me to be the best person I can be. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/jerrybanfield/support

Most of the attacks I think are coming from others really come from me.
28/04/2016 Duration: 08minMost of the attacks I perceive to be coming from other people, are coming from within myself. I was talking to my mom on the phone the other night at the airport, and I was trying to explain to her why I couldn't come to visit her. I was at the airport on my way back from home visiting my friend, and it felt as if I was defending myself. However, this theoretical attack only proved to be my own guilty conscience. I see this again and again in other people's lives, the enemy you think you are fighting against is often yourself. Life is filled with magic today!
27/04/2016 Duration: 11minLife is filled with magic today, the question is how much can you see? For the word "magic" I like to think of it with two definitions: 1) An illusion, something to trick to people. 2) A miracle, spell, something real. The premise of this video is to explain that the world is full of miracles, it's just a matter of what what you are aware of in your own life. What is the difference between religion and spirituality?
26/04/2016 Duration: 11minWhat is the difference between religion and spirituality? To me, religion is someone else's personal experience, and spirituality is my own experience. Religion relates to miracles that have happened in other people's lives, and spirituality focuses on miracles that can happen in your life. Religion has taught me a spiritual way of living. Regardless of whether or not I believe in all the tiny details, I have become a much more grounded and spiritual person since I started studying multiple religions. You cannot fix what you do not know is broken.
25/04/2016 Duration: 13minYou can't fix what you don't know is broken. If you are not aware of a problem, you can't fix it. This is an idea that has saved my life on more than one occasion, and helps me to be the best person possible today. People often ask me if I can stop talking about my problems when I record these videos and focus on playing the game. Well, I have found that being open about the problems in my own life makes it easier to overcome them! If you struggle listening to other people's problems, this can often be a reflection of your willingness to neglect the problems in your own life. Nothing is a waste of time that I learn from.
24/04/2016 Duration: 11minNothing that I learn from is a waste of time today. Anything that can teach me something leaves me better than I was before. One of my biggest pet peeves use to be wasting time. At any point I felt as if I was wasting my time, it was an instant shame trigger. For example, when a relationship would end I would immediately feel as if it was a waste of time. If I left a job, same thing. Today, I am thankful to now see that the only time wasted is that from which I do not learn.
