How, why and when did the FAA think it was a good idea to force these professionals to unregulated lay person meetings based on the highly religious Oxford groups, and send them against their will?

After doing hundreds of shows, exposing AA, educating ourselves on the many free options that exist with issues around Substance abuse - It has finally become apparent to me that many are leaving the blogs, writing anonyously while talking about leaving AA , exposing AA and changing the system, and publicly and semi publicty  are now talking in FACEBOOK groups. I think the tide is turning as we turn up the heat and say that AA has no place in our Courts, in Medicine and in our government. But who knew how deep this rabbit hole really was. We all know more now. So what's the next step? How do we unite and work together to force change? How do we stop Judges from ordering citizens to go to AA and stop the FAA from forcing Pilots to join an antiquated org such as AA and make them attend for 3 years. Monica Richardson host, filmmaker, hosts this weekly one hour live show about addiction, sustance misuse and Alternatives to AA.  The 13th Step film is stirring things up but finally getting the truth about the Dark Underbelly of AA and its culture and about Court ordering Violent and Sex offenders to AA and NA meetings. DUI offenders ahve no idea that AA has been deemed "HIghly Religious" by over 25 state courts. Many do not know that AA is Not RUN by any professional. Many dont know there are other free options like SMART Recovery, SOS, Moderation, Hams Harm Reduction < Women for Sobriety and The SIncliar Method.  

This will be a "live " show with host Monica Richardson, filmmaker of the Documentary , The 13th Step. We will be taking live calls  so you can call in to tell your story as to why you left or why you are thinking about leaving.  Safe Recovery is a show designed to explore new ways of getting help with Addiciton or alcohol overuse issues.  It is a show to expose the dangers in Alcoholics Anonyous and how antiquated the 1935 fellowship is when treating serious mental health problems alongside Substance Use Issues. Using CBT- MI- SMART Recovery, Hams Harm Reduction, SOS, WFS, The Sinclair Method or just stopping and getting a life. There are many non 12 step therapists now who are there to help you. We find that deprogramming  may be needed after leaving AA for many of us.

Lately there have been some big stories that reflect problems with AA. Things like  Court ordering of rapists, as with the Stanford's swimmer's case. Next we have a Sober Living Mogul, Chris Bathum,  who is being investigated by The DA, The FBI and Blue Cross Insurance. The LA Weekly did a story about him. Chris Bathum was also intereviewed on the most recent ABC 20/20. How does AA interconnect with these two stories. The Convicted rapist in Palos Altos will only do 3 months and then get sent to AA meetings for 3 years. 98 % of all rehab is AA based filled with two hatter AA members working there. Host Monica Richardson is back after a break. When did this all begin. AA meetings first started in Prison in 1941. Drug Court Began in 1989 in FLorida and 1990 in California. But many violent and sex offenders had been court ordered as far back as in the 1970's documented in Monica's film The 13th Step. Some sex offenders don't even drink, for obvious reasons. So why would a Judge send them there? Professor Carl Hart - an Associate Professor at Columbia University.   Host Monica Richardson will interview Carl Hart (born 1966) is an associate professor of psychology and psychiatry at Columbia University. Hart is known for his research in drug abuse and drug addiction. Hart was the first tenured African American professor of sciences at Columbia University. Carl Hart has won the NAACP Image Award for outstanding literary work and Hart was the first tenured African American professor of sciences at Columbia University. Rachel Bernstein is an Educator and a Marriage, Family and Child Therapist.
