Boston College Football Preview: Florida State Seminoles
19/11/2014 Duration: 01h06minFollowing a week layoff following the loss to Louisville, the Eagles are back for what might be their best and strongest opponent of the season - Florida State. Few teams need no introduction in the way FSU does. The Seminoles are the defending national champions, their star starting quarterback as controversial as he is talented, the defending Heisman Trophy. Their team, well coached, is among the best in the nation, and they're in the running for a shot at the national championship's inaugural College Football Playoff. On the other hand, there's much to talk about with regards to BC. Tyler Murphy will need to bounce back from his worst performance of the year, and the offense will need to get back to its basics. We're at the stage of the year where we know what we're looking for from the Eagles, and this gives us the chance to reset how it can work against a team like FSU. With Dan visiting the sunny Caribbean sun, AJ takes over the reigns of the BCI Radio Show. Give him a call and rub it in about how mu

Boston College Football: Bye Week
12/11/2014 Duration: 01h28minAfter their loss last week, just two games remain in the Boston College football season. Bowl positioning is at stake, and at 6-4, the Eagles can still finish 8-4 or 7-5, but they'll need to go through stiff competition in order to do it. New Guy won't be here for Florida State, so he's raring to go with plenty of commentary for Jameis Winston, Jimbo Fisher, and the gang. Join us to break down the Lousville game and talk Florida State as we kick off the next two weeks of coverage for the Seminoles. Join us at 8 PM or give us a call at 646-200-0446!

Boston College Football Preview: Louisville Cardinals
05/11/2014 Duration: 01h14minAnd just like that, the Eagles were bowl eligible. At 6-3 with three games left to play, Boston College is heading to postseason play for the second straight year. The dark ages of the Frank Spaziani era are well in our rear view mirrors, and the good times are rolling thanks to Steve Addazio, Ryan Day, Don Brown, and a bunch of players we weren't sure of when the season started in August. On Saturday, Boston College looks to boost its postseason resume for potential bowl games when they take on the Louisville Cardinals. A first year entrant into the ACC, the basketball powerhouse is also a strong football program back under the direction of Bobby Petrino. The Cardinals are coming off a near miss against Florida State, and they head north for the programs' first meeting since 1998. There's much we don't know about Louisville, but there's also a lot on the table to discuss. BC got beat up a little bit by Virginia Tech, so health could be an issue. Jon Hilliman and Tyler Murphy both got dinged up with the fo

Boston College Football Preview: Virginia Tech Hokies
29/10/2014 Duration: 01h25minThe Eagles jumped back into the win column last week, and their 5-3 record has them on the cusp of bowl eligibility for the second straight year. It's onto Virginia Tech. On Saturday, a very dangerous and possibly desperate Hokies team will host the Eagles in a rivalry that's bordered on bitter through their recent history. It was during last season when we realized how good BC could be in a victory at home against this team. Now BC has a chance to claim bowl eligibility against its longtime rival. There's much to love about this matchup. Both teams have played very well, but both teams are flawed and have lost games they probably could have or should have won. The Hokies are trying to avoid losing a third straight game and a second consecutive game at home, all while playing in the wide open ACC Coastal Division. Tune in at 8 PM or call in at 646-200-0446 as Dan and AJ talk Hokies with guests, you, and more!

Dan and AJ will return at 8 PM, joined by the boys from Blogger So Dear, to profile the Eagels and Deacs game on Saturday afternoon. Boston College Football Week 8: Clemson Tigers
15/10/2014 Duration: 01h27minTwo weeks ago, the world was falling. A Boston College defeat left the team at 3-2 heading on the road out of Massachusetts for the first time this season. They were about to get back into ACC play against an NC State team, and the outlook was grim. But BC dominated on Saturday, taking a 30-14 victory over the Wolfpack to pull up to 4-2 on the season and within two victories of bowl eligibility. The Eagles controlled the clock, and Tyler Murphy ran for over 130 yards with a couple of long touchdown runs. The defense held NC State to under 250 yards overall, and they averaged 1.7 yards per rushing play. That was then, and this is now. We turn the page to Saturday with help from all of you for the next opponent - Clemson. We'll talk the Tigers and the young yet fierce rivalry, and we'll speak with people who know a Top 25 team best. Clemson is back into the top 25 at #24 this week, and they'll be coming up on Saturday with their troves of fans. So tune in at 8 PM and give us a call at 646-200-0446 to tal

Boston College Football Week 7: NC State Wolfpack
09/10/2014 Duration: 01h03minWe're back to football. After a bye week, it's time to turn the page completely from the loss to Colorado State and start talking about NC State. The Wolfpack are 4-2 on the season, but both of their losses came in the last two weeks to Florida State and Clemson. This puts the ACC 0-2 NC State team one half game behind an ACC 0-1 Boston College team. To call this game a must win is not that far off from the truth for both teams. It's the Atlantic Division opener for the Eagles, and Dan and AJ will be back to talk about it. So call in at 646-200-0446 and weigh in with your thoughts about the game!

Boston College Basketball: 30 for 30 and "Playing For The Mob"
07/10/2014 Duration: 01h31minESPN's critically acclaimed "30 for 30" series premieres this Tuesday with Playing for the Mob. The story details the Boston College point shaving scandal of 1978-1979, its players, characters, and how the mob bought college basketball. In 1978, Henry Hill, a noted gangster from the Lucchese crime family in New York City, teamed up with Rocco and Tony Perla from Pittsburgh to buy Boston College basketball. Hill, the protagonist from the movie Goodfellas who passed away last year, the Perlas, and BC basketball player Rick Kuhn spearheaded an effort for the Eagles to fix games by shaving points. With teammates involved, Kuhn orchestrated point shaving games across nine games between December and February, 1978-1979. What started as a simple scheme became a story of high stake gambling, the Mafia, and Boston College. The scheme remained a secret until Hill turned informant in 1980. We will spearhead a discussion of the story, its impact on college sports, and the prospect of match fixing as it continues t

Boston College Week 5: Bye Week
01/10/2014 Duration: 01h18minAngry? Frustrated? Ready to explode? Good. So are we. Everything about the Boston College loss to Colorado State stinks. The Eagles blew a fourth quarter lead, failed to put up points in the final frame, and collapsed worse than a video board at UMass. These are the facts. They are indisputable. So let it out. Dan and AJ are back on the air to discuss the multiple fronts on which everything went wrong. Send in your calls to talk about what happened, where the game went wrong, and how BC can fix it moving forward. Want to talk about the lethargic Eagle fans? We'll do it. Want to talk about the lack of an effective kicker? We'll do it. Want to talk about the defense's inability to make the stop when it mattered? We'll do it. Give us a call. 646-200-0446. We're mad. You're mad. Let's be mad together.

Boston College Week 5 Preview: Colorado State Rams
24/09/2014 Duration: 01h21minThe Eagles are 3-1 after beating the Maine Black Bears back to Northern New England. But questions still loom about this Boston College team - are they good enough to win another big game, how dominant can the running game be, and what is up next for Ryan Day, Steve Addazio, and Don Brown. How will BC handle a team we really don't know all that much about, and can they end the month of September needing just two more games to be bowling? Join Dan and AJ as they're joined by the Mountain West Conference. Colorado State's coming for Saturday, making this yet another can't miss show!

Boston College Week 4 Preview: Maine Black Bears
17/09/2014 Duration: 01h29minThere's no reason to come down off the high from Saturday quite yet! We're not quite sure if AJ is still alive, and Dan may still be running through the mods hugging everyone in sight, but they should be back for Tuesday's radio show. Boston College is coming off arguably its biggest home victory and one of its most memorable wins of all time, a 37-31 thriller over #9 USC, so tune in at 8 PM EST as we revisit what happened at Alumni Stadium on Saturday night. There will also be the task of putting BC on the track for Saturday's game against Maine. As we've learned, there's no reason to ever have a hangover game, even if it's against an FCS opponent. This will be a great chance for BC to level set their season at the quarter pole with a 2-1 record. Many of us said the Eagles would be 2-1, but we never thought it'd happen this way. We'll also have some guests on to talk Boston College, so tune in at 8 PM EST or give us a call at 646-200-0446 to discuss!

Boston College Football Week 3 Preview: USC Trojans
10/09/2014 Duration: 01h27minFor the first time in their storied history, the Sons of Troy will come east to take on the Boston College Eagles! Tune in at 8 PM EST (5 PM PST) as Dan and AJ talk about last week's game against Pitt and begin previewing the game on Saturday night against USC. The Trojans are coming off a tough game against Pac-12 rival Stanford, but they also are a team that slaughtered BC in the LA Coliseum last year, 35-7. The game will be one of the featured national games of the week, finding itself on national television under the lights in Chestnut Hill. USC is 4-0 lifetime against the Eagles, but they're a very different team from the one that took on Steve Addazio's crew last year. The Trojans defeated BC right before head coach Lane Kiffin was fired, and they transformed overnight from a 4-3 middle-of-the-road program to a 10-4 bowl champion. Now they're a nationally ranked team under the direction of new head coach Steve Sarkisian, and storylines are already abound. Be sure to tune in and be sure to call in

Boston College Football Week 2 Preview: Pittsburgh Panthers
03/09/2014 Duration: 01h22minJoin us as Boston College comes off its Week 1 game against UMass and prepares for a Friday night national television matchup with Pittsburgh! We'll take one final look back at the matchup with the Minutemen and discuss what went well and what went wrong. Then we'll turn the page to the game with the Panthers, the first meeting between the two programs since 2004. When last they met, Pitt beat BC at Heinz Field, 20-17 in OT, in the middle of the season. After BC lost to Syracuse at the end of the year in the Diamond Ferri Game, the Panthers won the Big East's automatic bid to the Bowl Championhip Series. Selected for the Fiesta Bowl, 5th-ranked Utah defeated them handily, 35-7, while BC defeated North Carolina in the Continental Tires Bowl. Following the season, the Eagles left for the ACC. Now it's time to revisit the long-lost matchup. We'll talk the Panthers with Cardiac Hill and also discuss the concept of Friday Night Lights. Both teams will have short weeks of preparation with Pitt coming off

Boston College Football Week 1 Preview: UMass Minutemen
27/08/2014 Duration: 01h22minThe team, the team, the team, the family, the family, the family, BC, BC, BC, BC... It's finally here. After months of talking, waiting, and anticipating, the first week of the 2014 regular season is upon us. Boston College and UMass in what the Minutemen tabbed as the "Battle of the Bay State." At 3 PM on Saturday, the Eagles will make the trek down I-95 to Gillette Stadium and don road jerseys against the only other Division I-FBS school in Massachusetts. Mark Whipple is back in Amherst (er...Foxboro?), a former candidate for the head coach position at BC that eventually went to Jeff Jagodzinski. We'll talk X's and O's, the cultural impact of this game, and look ahead to Saturday. So tune in. It's time for BC to rise again, and it's time for all of us to Dude Up as the Eagles take the field for 2014.

Pardon the BC Interruption: The BCI Business Report
16/04/2014 Duration: 01h22minThe 2013-2014 academic calendar is winding down, and sports in the Boston College landscape are finally saying farewell to a memorable year. From the resurgence of the football program to the run to glory for the hockey program to the meteoric drop of the basketball program, there's been plenty to talk about and there's been plenty to argue about. But as Boston College prepares to graduate its class of 2014, we take the opportunity to look back at where this year's impact can be felt the most - off the field. Championships, winning seasons, bowl berths, and new coaches might be great to talk about, but why are we talking about them? How has this year been in terms of marketing and business, and how strong is the BC brand as it gets set to take a hiatus for the summer months? Michael Sheehan drops by to analyze the Boston College brand with the first ever BCI Business Report. With Brad Bates' first full year at the helm squarely in the books, we look at the successes, the failures, and the road ahead. W
