How do we be sure to hear God's Word in our lives?

Here we see the account of Jesus calming the storm and healing the demoniac. We see that Jesus has authority over storms and Satan!

Sometimes our arrogance can fool us into thinking that we're so wise, we're so strong, we're so independent, we're so right. It can leave us in a state of mind that thinks we're in need of nothing. But the truth is, we are always in desperate need. Paul uses some sarcasm to exaggerate the things that the church in Corinth were boasting about to show them what they were really acting like. It also would show them what they were actually communicating to the church about the Apostle Paul. That when they elevated themselves to "Kings" they were essentially saying that Paul was the "Scum of the Earth".

We all have something that we attach to for our source of 'life'. In other words, where we get our sense of worth, security, meaning, fulfillment from. We believe that as long as we have it we will be fulfilled and free, but without it we'd drown. It's like an air hose where we get our supply of oxygen. The problem is, there in only one place that you can attach your air hose to that has a never ending supply, all others eventually run out. What's your Air Hose Attached to?

Jesus teaches in parables and gives us some very deep yet practical truths.

Out hearts need to be receptive to God's Word in order to be changed by God. If we have hard hearts, shallow hearts, or crowded hearts the fruit that is to be produced will never come. But if we have receptive hearts- the only thing that can happen is fruitfulness.

The greatest appointment of our life is yet future. What materials are you building your life and the life of others with? Are you using combustible materials or non-combustible materials? Jesus faced a lot of criticism in His ministry by the religious leaders of the day because he didn't follow their ridged rules. He came to bring us freedom, forgiveness, healing and joy! Join us as we continue to look at the life of Jesus!

The world has its wisdom and its perspective on how to think but we as Believers in Jesus have a perspective that comes from the Holy Spirit in us and because of that we have the ability to see things the same way that Jesus sees things. Why do we know what we know? Why do we love him like we do? Why do we understand the scriptures when we study them, why do the things of God excite us? Because of the Spirit of God inside our hearts. Let's remember that when we're dealing with our unbelieving friends so we can have more compassion on them.

This is a discussion on much of the curriculum changes in our public schools of NJ as well as some other solutions for how to navigate with a Biblical worldview in the World in which we live and are raising children to love Jesus and people.

Do you ever have doubts and fears when thinking about reaching people for Jesus? Well, you are in good company. The Apostle Paul’s humanity was evident, his insecurities were evident, his lack of confidence in himself was evident, and his nervousness was evident, yet, he was used by God to reach people as a simple messenger with a simple message. You may have fear, you may have a lack of boldness, insecurities, nerves, or whatever, but that’s ok, you don’t have to be a polished professional to share this message!

Jesus is abounding in grace, he's aggressive with his grace. He forgives sinners, he calls tax collectors, he shares meals with broken people, why? Because the sick need a healer and sinners need a savior, and the sick and sinner are the only kind of people there are.

In The world’s eyes Christians are often times the butt of all jokes and viewed as a people that are second rate, inferior or laughable. The world uses all kinds of things (entertainment industry, educational institutions) to belittle Christians and mock Christians, and make them look irrelevant and foolish, but is it really foolish? Let s look at the empirical evidence. What about the worlds philosophies? Are they really wise?

"Celebrity Jesus" only goes where he's popular, to where the crowds are, to where the buzz is, but the real Jesus was so interested in the people who seemed insignificant in this world that he would often go to the last places that people would expect him to go.
