Florida was unable to get second chance opportunities as Vancouver forced a lot of one-and-done's and when the Panthers were caught on bad lines changes/out of position, there was a definite speed advantage. The two break down the Panthers' 7-5 win over the Philadelphia Flyers, where the Panthers were up by as many as three goals, but the Flyers found a way to come back and even take the lead to get up by a goal a third of the way through the third period. On today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) brought in Jacob Langsam(@PTPJacob) of the Panther Pourri Podcast to break down the Panthers' 4-1 loss to the Washington Capitals where the Cats got out to a 1-0 lead 7:00 into the game, but were unable to add on to the scoring. The Capitals were able to prevent the Panthers to cleanly break out of their own end, and gave the Panthers little time and space in the offensive zone. One theme was consistent throughout the evening, missing the net, where with the team being on the skid they're on it now seems as if they're over thinking their shot decisions once they get the puck in their opponents' zone. Spencer Knight got the start and also gave the team a chance to win where it was 2-1 before the Caps scored two empty netters. The two broke down the Panthers' 6-3 loss where they controlled play for a good majority of the first period, but Winnipeg's speed made the Panthers pay in the final 5 minutes of the first to get them into a two-goal deficit, one of them with their inability to break out of their zone. The Cats inability to break out continued on their end on the penalty kill when the Jets scored seconds after the power play ended, as the puck was in the Cats zone for almost the entirety of the man advantage. Florida killed a 5-on-3 early in the second period, and the fourth line gave them a bit of energy going into the third period down two.
