Sergei Bobrovsky and the Panthers Penalty Kill set the tone early as the Islanders dominated period number 1. Panthers took advantage by drawing 3 Islanders penalties in period number 2 that led to them having the lead on an Eetu Luostarinen deflection. Islanders provided a little bit of a scare as Noah Dobson scored on the power play, only for Patric Hornqvist to give the Panthers the lead 30 seconds later. Matthew Tkachuk was extremely noticeable for the Cats as he almost scored in the first minute. Matthew led the team in shot attempts and didn't convert until his 16th attempt on an empty net goal to ice the game.
