Panthers lived on the doorstep all throughout period 2, and despite not scoring in that period, the Cats got goals by Rudolfs Balcers and Josh Mahura to come out victorious. Carter Verhaeghe for the second straight season has 2 goals in a Panthers opener as the top line has now gotten on the scoreboard for the first time this season.
