Two bye weeks in a year is excellent. Everyone involved in football gets to take a deep breath and fix the little issues that are causing heartache TWICE. Also, did you see how badly Florida beat up on Auburn? We did. It was amusing. A fine week it was for the Crimson Tide. The 49-7 win over the USM Golden Eagles was the best game the team has played thus far, even if it was little more than a cupcake. The offense did what it does, and the defense put the brakes on a solid offensive football team. WIth the Ole Miss RebelManSharkBearPICKAMASCOTS coming to town following a tough loss at home to Cal, Alabama will look to build on the momentum that started with solid cupcake play. One of the more interesting twenty-four point wins that Nick Saban has ever recorded. That's one way to describe the Crimson Tide's game against the South Carolina Gamecocks. The defense wasn't great, but it wasn't "burn it all down" bad. The offense needed to run more, except the nature of Run-pass-option plays mean that it was actually correct to throw it more. Overall, it was business as usual, and much ado about nothing in the annals of Crimson Tide lore. The first team did what the first team does for the Alabama Crimson Tide. They took care of business in 2 quarters and change, and then the second team had a rough performance against an overmatched New Mexico St. team. Now, it is on to a road trip to play the South Carolina Gamecocks. They lost a gnarly game to the Fightin' Mack Browns to open the season and chomped on a cupcake last weekend. Football is back! Alabama did Alabama things to an opening week opponent in their 42-3 win over the Duke Blue Devils. True freshman were all over the field making plays, particularly Shane Lee and Christian Harris. The offense did start a little bit slow, but once it got on-track, Tua did Tua things and the group put in a solid performance. Football is upon us! Florida and Miami played a 3.5 hour slapfest highlighted by a 4 year old trapped in a UF QB's body to start the season, but now its time for the teams with an actual chance to win anything of note to take the field. Unfortunately, Alabama will battle Duke down one of its best players due to a knee injury to Dylan Moses. There are potential replacements, but there is definitely some trepidation going through Bama nation as the Crimson Tide prepares for Duke. Football is (almost) back! While teams full of lesser mortals will play this weekend ahead of week 1 of the college football season, Alabama just finished up its second scrimmage. It wouldn't be a football season at Alabama without some injuries for fans to slam their desks about. Trey Sanders is not expected back, and there were some dings during this past weekend's scrimmage that we talk about as well. It wasn't all bad news, though, as several Tide players look to be playing winning football for the team. Markhail Benton played a solid scrimmage, and there was a Ben Davis sighting. Overall, it was another step on the path to Duke in a couple of weeks, and there are still plenty of reasons for Alabama fans to be excited for the 2019 football season. It was business as usual for the ALabama Crimson Tide on the recruiting front as they closed with another number 1 recruiting class for the 2019 cycle. The next big thing will be the spring, and how this new staff group comes together ahead of the season. Alabama took one on the chin a few weeks ago down in Santa Clara, and since we have been absent, we react to that. For the stats nerd, it wasn't as bad as it seemed. There were masked problems, though, throughout the season and Nick Saban is now moving to address those with his staff changeover. We give our take on where we see the last few hires slotting in, and try to explain why some of the new pieces failed to connect to Nick and the Process. After all of the heavy lifting, we talk recruiting, and get excited for the next great group of Crimson Tide players with National Signing Day looming on the horizon.

Another year, another semifinal destruction for Alabama. This time, it was the Oklahoma Sooners getting both barrels from the Alabama Crimson Tide. That sets up another match with the Clemson Tigers. Each time is distinctly different from last year's slugfest in New Orleans, and there's another classic in the offing down in Santa Clara when these two teams match up. It has been a great week for the Alabama Crimson Tide. The #1 recruiting class is all but locked up, but there are still more to come with a handful of great players still on the Alabama recruiting board. The holidays are coming, and Alabama fans have a whole pack of 5 star presents under the tree. The Crimson Tide has the number 1 recruiting class, and looks to continue that trend with several highly rated recruits expected to sign during the Early Signing Period. After a bit of recency bias on the part of Heisman voters, Tua Tagovailoa finished second for that award. Luckily, the entire Crimson Tide team has a chance to put that narrative to the torch on December 29th, but there is other business to attend to before that. The early signing period is quickly approaching, and even before that the Tide will hear from several of the blue chips that they have been working towards over the past eighteen months. It isn't mathematically impossible for Alabama to finish with the best class that the world has ever seen this cycle, but everything needs to break just right. Same stadium, same teams, similar results. The Georgia Bulldogs pushed the Alabama Crimson Tide to the brink in the SEC Championship, but the back up quarterback again emerged to lead the Tide to a win. Last time, it was Second-And-Twenty-Six. This time, it was Jalen stepping in during a wild 4th quarter to win the game for Alabama. In made-for-Hollywood drama, the Tide again beat the Bulldogs. Head coach Kirby Smart called a ridiculous fake punt and we excoriate him about it, but we mostly revel in the most recent Crimson Tide triumph.
