Episodes

  • Whew! BAMS discusses the Squeaker in the Swamp

    20/09/2021 Duration: 01h01min

What a difference two quarters makes. After going up 21-3 heading into the second quarter, the Alabama Crimson Tide made things a lot harder than necessary against the Florida Gators before escaping with a 31-29 win. There was heartburn aplenty for everyone surrounding the program, but is this a case of Massive Fan Overreaction, or are there concerning trends for this iteration of the Crimson Tide? That is a main discussion point of this episode of BAMSRadio so join Drew DeArmond, William "Redfish" Barger & Thomas Watts for another episode talking about everyone's favorite football team.

  • BAMS knocks mud off their shoes after the Mercer slopfest

    13/09/2021 Duration: 01h06min

Alabama struggled a bit against Mercer, but it was more of those second week blues as opposed to anything worth panicking about. The first true road test for a large portion of Alabama's roster is next week as the Tide travels to Gainesville for a battle with the Florida Gators. The team which pushed the 2020 version of the Tide the hardest has had a bunch of turnover, and played a couple of teams which earn them a "meh" from the panel so what will Bama see against the Gators? We discuss that and more on this episode of BAMSRadio so join Drew DeArmond, William "Redfish" Barger and Thomas Watts for another episode of BAMSRadio.

  • BAMS discusses Alabama's 44-13 whoopin' of Miami

    06/09/2021 Duration: 54min

The 2021 season opener for the Alabama Crimson Tide was roughly like every season opener Alabama has had under Nick Saban. Alabama scored a lot. The opposition, in this case the Miami Hurricanes, scored a little. It was a brutal beatdown to open the season and the rat poison is flowing toward the Tide again. We react to everything that we saw from Alabama against the Hurricanes, and take a peek at a couple of things we expect as the Tide takes on Mercer this upcoming week. Join Drew DeArmond, William "Redfish" Barger and Thomas Watts for another hour of BAMSRadio!

  • BAMS talks Miami as 2021 football is here!

    30/08/2021 Duration: 56min

Our long summer has ended, through not without a spanking from a hurricane. Prayers up for people affected by Ida. This week on BAMSRadio, we're breaking down the Miami Hurricanes. They're opponent #1 on Alabama's road to another potential national championship. With transfers, super seniors, and returning talent, there is a chance for a game from these Hurricanes, but not for an entire four quarters. There are many questions that we discuss and finally give our predictions to how we see the game going. Spoiler alert: Past is prologue. We add a bit of bonus discussion of Georgia/Clemson at the end as well, so join us for another hour of Crimson Tide conversation with your hosts Drew DeArmond, William "Redfish" Barger and Thomas Watts

  • BAMS has SAWCES at the second scrimmage!

    23/08/2021 Duration: 01h18min

The second scrimmage of fall camp is generally where a roster crystallizes and jobs are decided. One of Redfish's former teammates provided him an in-depth report on what he saw, plus Drew and Thomas had some SAWCES in the stadium who provided some tidbits. We discuss that and more on this episode of BAMSRadio so join Drew DeArmond, William "Redfish" Barger and Thomas Watts for another hour of Crimson Tide Conversation

  • BAMS sets the stage for the 21-22 CFB season

    16/08/2021 Duration: 01h10min

Summer is coming to a close, and Alabama remains a glorious inferno. With a little less than three weeks until the Tide take on Miami, BAMS is back to talk about all of the happenings around college. Texas and Oklahoma are coming to the SEC. The hilarity of "Horns Down" earns a few laughs. Alabama had their first scrimmage of fall camp this past weekend, and we talk about what was heard through the Tide grapevine. This team will be good, ya'll, particularly if the worst thing to come out is that the punter is questionable. We'll discuss that and more on this kickoff episode of another season of BAMSRadio. Join Drew DeArmond, William "Redfish" Barger & Thomas Watts for another hour of Crimson Tide conversation.

  • BAMS reviews A-Day, and prepares for a long summer of fun

    19/04/2021 Duration: 01h16min

In what was the largest sports gathering to date in the US since Covid-19 blasted lives to pieces, the Alabama Crimson Tide football team finished up spring ball with the A-Day scrimmage. Bryce Young? Looks good. Defense? Looks good. Football from the stands? Looks good. There's a lot to be excited about even as we are preparing for a long summer before another Bama football season. We talk offense, defense and special teams on this episode of BAMS so tune in for another hour of discussion between Drew DeArmond, William "Redfish" Barger & Thomas Watts

  • BAMS reviews first Spring scrimmage, and talks A-Day

    14/04/2021 Duration: 01h03min

The Alabama football team continues work towards the 2021 football season through their spring practice. The offense is replacing historic levels of production, as well as breaking in a new coaching staff. With all of these new moving parts, the defense is taking center stage this spring. Does the much maligned Pete Golding have a 2016-esque unit based on talent, and returning veterans? We talk that, basketball, and more on this episode of BAMSRadio. Join Drew DeArmond, William "Redfish" Barger & Thomas Watts for another hour of Crimson Tide conversation!

  • BAMS talks spring football, and the Sweet 16

    25/03/2021 Duration: 01h04min

It seems like just yesterday that Alabama was celebrating national championship #18. Since then Alabama has only won practically every championship they could. Basketball is rolling. Gymnastics is great. Softball looks to be competitive. We focus on our expectations for Alabama's spring football, as well as revel in the Sweet 16 run for the Alabama basketball team. Can we get a plan for an update to Coleman now? Join Drew DeArmond, William "Redfish" Barger & Thomas Watts for another hour of Crimson Tide conversation.

  • BAMS celebrates Natty #18

    18/01/2021 Duration: 01h09min

Whew. What a fun season. Alabama finished the drill a week ago and won their 18th national title. We celebrate it on the show tonight, talk about what we will remember, and what made this group special. Even with football over, the Alabama basketball team continues to impress so we'll talk that too. Join Drew DeArmond, William "Redfish" Barger and Thomas Watts for another episode of BAMSRadio.

Drew, Thomas and William get you ready for the rollercoaster ride with what we see as these two college football titans collide.

  • New year, same result. Bama off to the Natty

    04/01/2021 Duration: 59min

The world is back to spinning on its axis. Alabama won its semifinal game against Notre Dame, and Ohio State put it all together against Clemson for the first time all year. That sets up a juicy match up for all of the marbles. We react to both games, and start discussing preliminary impressions of Ohio State. The Sark-to-Texas situation adds an unstable element, but none of us believe it will be too big a problem for the Crimson Tide. Join Drew DeArmond, William "Redfish" Barger and Thomas Watts for another hour of BAMSRadio

  • BAMS breaks down Notre Dame ahead of the Rose Bowl

    28/12/2020 Duration: 59min

The College Football Playoff is sneaking up on everyone this year. With a much smaller layover, teams have to tap dance to prepare for their semifinals. Early reports suggest that Alabama is all business ahead of a battle with Notre Dame with a bid into the national championship game on the line. Redfish is back and we talk about what he sees as keys to the game, as well as what the Crimson Tide faithful should expect as Alabama matches up against Notre Dame. We also discuss the Heisman briefly, and have a quick celebration over a couple of recruits deciding to roll with the Tide. • Merry Christmas from BAMSRadio!

    24/12/2020 Duration: 01h00s

Whew. Alabama got by Florida in a 52-46 barnburner this past Saturday. The Tide now move on to the College Football Playoff to battle the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. We react to what we saw on the field this past Saturday, and talk about postseason awards. Is the defense really as bad as some say? Who wins the Heisman from Alabama? Did Ohio State deserve to make it? We answer all of these questions and more on this episode of BAMSRadio so join Drew DeArmond and Thomas Watts for another episode of BAMSRadio!

  • Undefeated Regular Season? Time to compete for an SEC Championship

    14/12/2020 Duration: 01h15min

Alabama completed an undefeated SEC regular season with a 52-3 drubbing of the Arkansas Razorbacks. The injury to Christian Harris remains the only small black mark from the game, and the team was getting rested and ready why Florida suffered an upset at the hands of a depleted LSU Tigers team. The loss knocked Florida out of the CFP chase, and dinged Kyle Trask's Heisman chances...all over a thrown shoe. The two teams now head to Atlanta with the SEC title on the line. Alabama is heavily favored, and we all think there is a reckoning coming for the Gators this coming weekend. We talk that, recruiting, and a bit of basketball to close the show. Join Drew DeArmond, Thomas Watts, and William "Redfish" Barger for another episode of BAMSRadio

  • Another set of Tigers down as Bama beats LSU

    07/12/2020 Duration: 55min

That was satisfying. Alabama came out and executed at a high level against the LSU Tigers and got a humbling 55-17 win on Saturday night. It exorcised the Orgeron demons from last year where there were some colorful metaphors exchanged in the locker room. Alabama now turns to finishing the regular season out strong against the Arkansas Razorbacks. We discuss the Hawgs, the Tigers, and the Gators on this episode of BAMSRadio as we can't help but look ahead to a big SEC Championship Game match up with Florida. Join Drew DeArmond, William "Redfish" Barger and Thomas Watts for another hour of Crimson Tide conversation!

  • BAMS shouts "Beat Auburn, now go beat LSU"

    30/11/2020 Duration: 01h02min

A satisfying senior day was punctuated with a domination of our rivals from across the state. The 42-13 win wasn't half as close as it was on the scoreboard, but it was still a big satisfying win for Alabama. Mac Jones threw for 5 TDs, and the only thing Devonta Smith didn't do was serve nachos to everyone in attendance. With one set of Tigers down, the other set gets a visit from Alabama this week as the Tide travels down to Baton Rouge for a contest over a year in the making. Ed Orgeron's postgame hysterics after last year's win remain stuck in Alabama's craw like grandma's pecan pie. That situation will be rectified come Saturday night because LSU is a bad team this year. We discuss all of that and more with Drew DeArmond, William "Redfish" Barger and Thomas Watts. Join us for another hour of Crimson Tide conversation.

  • It's Iron Bowl Week on BAMSRadio!

    23/11/2020 Duration: 01h01min

In the oddest of football seasons, the Iron Bowl has somehow managed to sneak up on everyone. After a thorough trouncing of the Kentucky Wildcats, Alabama turns their attention to preparing for a visit from instate rival Auburn. The Tigers have gotten the benefit of some lucky bounces and no-calls throughout the year, but they haven't seen anything like Alabama this year. The Tide continues to round into form as the defense has managed to claw its way into a statistical spot that doesnt give Tide fans heartburn. That will need to continue as Auburn comes to visit. We break down Kentucky and Auburn on this week's episode of BAMSRadio, so join Drew DeArmond, William "Redfish" Barger and Thomas Watts for another hour of Crimson Tide conversation!

  • BAMS enjoys a Covid-enforced week off

    20/11/2020 Duration: 01h02min

Extra week off happened due to coronavirus. That's an unfortunate situation, and the make up week may turn into a bigger penalty for the Tide given the back part of the schedule. While we do discuss that, we heavily turn our focus to the Kentucky Wildcats. Big Blue has built a steady program over the past few years, but Alabama is just better. On top of that, Kentucky is a less talented Georgia team. Expect a big win this weekend, and suddenly the college football playoff looms large as games are cancelled. What will happen? Drew DeArmond, William "Redfish" Barger and Thomas Watts discuss that and more on this episode of BAMSradio!

  • Bama rests, and heads down to the Bayou

    09/11/2020 Duration: 55min

Alabama took a week off, and earned the number 1 spot in the coutrny for their trouble. Notre Dame's win over Clemson, and Florida's beatdown of Georgia are discussed on this episode of BAMS, but those two contests are side shows compared to what is on tap for the Crimson Tide. A visit to Red Stick to play the LSU Tigers looms large, but this ain't your 2019 LSU Tigers. It has more in common with a DiNardo LSU team, and Alabama is poised to administer a whoopin'. The losses from 2019 have not been fixed, and the Tigers have practically no defense. Yes, Stingley is good, but Devonta Smith already torched him once, and we expect him to do it again. We break it down and give our thoughts on this episode of BAMSRadio so join Drew DeArmond, William "Redfish" Barger and Thomas Watts for more Crimson Tide conversation.
