Guess who's back?!We are THRILLED to be back with Episode 18: Bumblin' Along. It has been a long old time, so in this episode we catch up on all things NMLH. We had a fab time recording this episode with Catherine during the summer. We talk comedy, sexuality, feminism, abortion stigma, relationships, and fangirling over Alison Spittle. In advance of this year's annual March for Choice, we are back with Episode 16, talking about abortion stigma. Mary #1 is joined by the wonderful Cathie Shiels, a pro-choice activist and founding member of the Abortion Rights Campaign, to talk about the roots of abortion stigma, what progress has been made in challenging abortion stigma and how far we still have to go. We talk about the recent referendum campaign, the issues with the current legislation and why we need to keep the conversation going to bust abortion stigma  - and why we need to march now as much as ever! ** In the episode we refer to a few groups without explaining who they are (DOH!)! We're back, and we are celebrating our first anniversary! It's been a whole year since we put out Episode 1 on July 21st 2018! What a year it has been! We are BACK after a long absence! We're back! In Episode 11 we are joined by the wonderful Nem Kearns from Disabled Women Ireland. Nem is an incredible activist, owner of many badges and general legend. We talk about why and how DWI was formed, disability, access, meaningful engagement, sexuality and the ongoing love affair between Nem and the NMLH residents! We have something a bit different for Episode 10! While Mary #2 was off gallivanting in London, Mary #1 sat down with Ber Grogan, independent candidate for NUI panel of Seanad Éireann. Once Mary got over the weirdness of not having Mary #2 there, we had some great chats! Expect housing and single people, pro-choice activism, dating, politics and why everyone on mortgage ads has great teeth. We're back with Episode 9: Red Flags! Expect nunneries, Mary #2's idea for a TV show, why gaslighting is terrible (in case you don't already know), some reminiscing over heartbreak wine, and a novel Valentine's Day idea from a zoo. We also take a long hard look at how gender power dynamics and male privilege enable toxic behaviour across the entire spectrum of gaslighting and ask ourselves one of life's great questions: shall I be a nun? One day after the President of Ireland signed the 36th amendment to the constitution (aka that beautiful Yes!) into law, here it is: our long awaited episode on Bodily Autonomy, featuring our first Guest Host, the poet, educator, writer, editor, and activist Kathy Darcy! Expect feminist storytelling, deconstructions of shame, princesses, cishet white men who look the same, the fight for reproductive health, REPEAL, growing up under the 8th, and the importance of joy in activism. Also hear Kathy and Mary #1 read from the woman led collection of poetry and prose: AUTONOMY.
